If it is the Rii mini bluetooth keyboard, it appears it only has US layout of keys which i don't want. RE: App versions -- is there an easy, consistent way to determine this?
Hi Keith, Not sure if I would call it consistant, but typically an app will have something equivalent to the About option you usually find under the Help menu for PC programs. Often it is somewhere in More or Settings or Help, it's a bit different for each app, but I don't think I have ever seen an app where that information is not there and it usually contains the developer's name, the version number of the app etc. I don't use TuneIn so I can't tell you exactly where it is. Of course if your version is up-to-date, i.e. if you don't have any app updates showing, you can always check on the app store what the current version number is. If you check Songs in the group of radio buttons, the songs appear in a table just as in iTunes 10, so you can get to them quickly by pressing VO+CMD+T to get there quickly - one press to get to the Sidebar, and a second to get to the Songs table. Hi Cheryl and Anna, The old column browser is still there in iTunes 11, but it is not available unless you check Songs. It took me a while to figure it out, too, at first I had Artists or Albums checked and was wondering why the Volumn Browser in the View menu was greyed out. Once you check Songs it is available and as in iTunes 10 you can select what you want in the column browser, e.g. genre, artist, album etc. I think with the Side Bar visible and by selecting Songs and enabling the column browser iTunes 11 is as close to the look of iTunes 10 as you get. If you are using VoiceOver, you should hear radio button checked if the option is in deed selected. Usually, the two day option is selected by default. If you tap continue, the review page that is displayed next will show which option you chose. If the wrong one was chosen, just tap the edit button to go back and change it. For the other person who asked, the app is wells fargo mobile. It is essentially the mobile site found at www.wf.com wrapped in an app for iOS. It allows you to do most things you can accomplish on the desktop site with a few exceptions, one being that you must add new payees for the bill pay service on the desktop. the IPhone and the voyager pro ledgend headset
Hi are any of you using the plantronics legend headset with your I Phone? If os do you like it and would you recommended someone like me to get one if you are looking for a blu tooth ear piece to get for your phone? How well does this headset sound while you are on a call and if you are in a noisy area how well does it eliminate the background noise so you can be heard to the party that you are speaking to? Also can you use this headset with siri and for voice dictating your text message and things like that? Any and all reviews of this product from any of you folks on the list will be a big help. because I am in the market for purchasing a blu tooth headset for my phone for making calls and all the other stuff that comes along with it. Or if anyone doesn't recommended this headset then what aout the ant 2 headset. Heart Rate app incomppatible with Iphone 3gs?
HI guys: Iwas very excited this morning to try out the free app Heart Rate which by putting your index finger on the camera, the phone detects your heart rate. However I was disappointed when upon wanting to download the app from the App Store, it says Incompatible with Iphone; camera needs flash. Are there any heart rate aps that are compatible with 3gs? Hi Keith, In addition to Sieghard's information, I find it useful to monitor the history of an app's updates. You can use either the AppAdvice web page or their iPhone app to find out this information under App Activity, which is one of the options at the bottom of the page for their iPhone app. So if I'm using the iPhone app, I'd open the app, and either touch the bottom right corner or do a four finger tap on the bottom half of the screen to move to the last element on the screen, which is the search option. Then I would type tunein and double tap search in the bottom right corner of the virtual keyboard. The listed results will show Tunein Radio Pro, TuneIn Radio, and a few other matches, and will also tell you when there was last a change to price or version -- so you would hear 6 days ago for TuneIn Radio Pro, and last week for TuneIn Radio. Since I know that App Activity is one of the last entries on the screen, for each app, after double tapping to select TuneIn Radio Pro I would touch the bottom left corner of the screen and flick left past Other apps by TuneIn to App Activity (and two more flicks left would give me the current version number of the app and whether it is universal). If you double tap on App Activity you'll get a chronological list of version and price changes for the app. For example, for TuneIn Radio Pro, the entries are: Nov 27 version 3.1, Nov 19 version 3.0.1, Nov 04 version 3.0, and so forth. I find that occasionally I have more difficulty locating an app in the AppShopper app than I do if I run a Google search for the same app, by typing in the app name along with appshopper in the search field. In the case of the Google search, you'll want to set your rotor to headings to move to App Activity. For Google searches I sometimes have to type in the names of the app again in the AppShopper page's search text box to select the correct app to check. But one other advantage of using the web page instead of the app is that you'll be told if the app is no longer available in the app store. Although the page is not meant to be active, you can still navigate to App Activity and find out when the last activity entry was posted. Details of changes made in each version are not available this way, but at least you can find out when different versions came out. you can also use the App Activity heading to find out the history of price changes. I found out about the AppShopper App Activity entries early on, in Fall 2009 when I got my first iPod Touch. The free NY Times app, which had worked perfectly with VoiceOver for a number of months, had an update that made it inaccessible (similar to the Kindle app -- suddenly the entire page just gave you a boink sound with VoiceOver and nothing was read). Fortunately, I had downloaded a working version before ever getting my iPod Touch, so I just never updated the app, and kept tabs on the App Activity heading for the app on the AppShopper web pages to wait for a possible fix. It took more than a month. HTH. Sorry, I was not paying attention and this issue may already have been covered on the list. But on my iPod touch 4, running IOS 6, I can see only four items at a time in the app switcher. I have to remove apps to be able to see more apps. Is that usual? I remember of being able to access all the apps running, through the switcher before I upgraded. Youmail diactivate?
Hey guys, I recently got an IPhone 5 on which I downloaded Youmail. I called youmail activate as instructed by the ap, but now I want to deactivate it. 3GS and proximity sensor?
I think I asked this before; anybody know where the proximity sensor is, does it need cleaning maybe, any reason for it to be flaky and causing issues hanging up calls; it stays in phone mode and don't talk. Conversely, it's been known to stay in speaker mode even if I put it to my ear. Just inconsistent and unreliable. Advice welcome, I hope there is some this time. Pages update shows promise
I just installed the Pages update. There is now a rename document button next to each document in your list. It actually works. Now, I have not done anything else yet with the update, ;but this makes me hoepful that more accessibility updates are going to be there or come out eventually. I've been oneof the biggest critics of Pages, but this is a good start. I was able to go line by linethrough a document pretty easily. Here's hoping for more functionality with VO. Hi, You might be able to find one that will download, but the flash is very important for the functionality of these apps because your finger in effect blocks out all the light from the camera. Calendar app for iOS doing something strange
Hi all, I can't get the iOS calendar app to stay on the current date when in list mode. I will tap the today button but the app constantly goes back a couple of months instead of staying on today. I put a shortcut on the desktop to automatically added to itunes which is in your itunes media folder and put things in there. Itunes then whisks them away to sort them acording to their tags. How long should I expect to receive an iTunes email certificate after I purchased it?
Hi. Early this afternoon I purchased an email iTunes gift certificate. I just got the receipt for it, but I'm still waiting for the email of the certificate so I can credit my account to buy music without using my credit card any more than necessary. How long should I expect to wait for the certificate? If I should have gotten it already, who do I contact with my problem? I know this sounds weird, sending myself a certificate, but I wanted to put credit into my iTunes account and not risk not having enough money in the bank to cover the purchases I may make. Hi, maybe you do not know this yet, but were you able to know where your cursor was at all times. one of the problems i had was sometimes believing i was at the bottom of a document only to find i was somewhere else. and i had not done anything to the screen. This is what I do, based on a time where I never got the gift certificate Iwas buying for someone. now whether I am buyng for someone or buing it to get my own music and things, I only give them the email address that is mine that I want it to go to. I have two addresses so I can send from one to another, but I don't think they can do anything if you want to appear to send it to yourself. none of their concern. With the google app once the video starts playing, if you press home, then go back in to the app switcher you should be able to see all your controls. In the document list, find the edit button, which should be the third item on the screen. You should have add document, then pages, then edit. Double tap on edit. Then, double tap on a document, Now, Action, Duplicate and delete buttons should all be active.
