RE: [xul-talk] Poll Update: What do you plan to use XAML for?
My take on all this is that this is just too "new and emerging" to get a really good consensus for where XAML's user base is. I'm sure as time goes on this will change of course. I've highlighted the CodeProject XAML poll a while ago on the XAML Developers Group (aka xaml-talk). The CodeProject XAML poll tallied up more than a thousand votes but as you might expect the majority (>50%) was honest enough and voted for "I have no idea what XAML is." only 45 brave souls voted for "Yes, I use XAML." That or maybe the XAML developpers are gathering somewhere else. If it was posted on a site like codeproject.com or something similar, there would be more votes I think. Well, I guess the voter turn out reflects the interest in XAML. The XAML Developers Group, for example, currently has less than thirty members. I'm doing my best to promote the XAML poll and you're more than welcome to sign up your friends but I doubt - and I don't mean to offend you - that they are intested in XAML. - Gerald --- Gerald Bauer Rich Client Conference (RichCon) 2005 - http://richcon.com XUL News Wire - http://xulnews.com United XAML - http://unitedxaml.org --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Sybase ASE Linux Express Edition - download now for FREE LinuxWorld Reader's Choice Award Winner for best database on Linux. http://ads.osdn.com/?ad_id=5588&alloc_id=12065&op=click ___ xul-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/xul-talk --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. [Snip!] Here's the standing as of October, 28th: o To create windows forms 5 votes (27.78%) o To create animation 3 votes (16.67%) o To create web forms/web pages 3 vote (16.67%) o To create technical diagrams 2 vote (11.11%) o To create still images 2 vote (11.11%) o To create print documents 2 vote (11.11%) o Other 1 vote (5.56%) I don't mean to offend, but the voter sample you have here just isn't statistically significant. You can't expect solid information from a poll with only 18 people voting. One could poll their friends and family in the course of a single day and get that many voters.
