Hi, thanks a lot! The /proc/asound/card?/stream0 indeed shows that there are 8/8 channels available. I was moreover able to fix my problem with JACK (just had to disable the D-BUS interface). Choosing the fireface as input and output device together with the alsa driver, JACK boots
