I misread version numbers; you haven't packaged the version which has the
fix for this critical issue.
All that needs to be done is to package the next version of MATE. I hope
this happens soon.

I should have classified this bug as 'important', because there's
significant functionality I can't access and for which the workarounds are
difficult or nonexistent.

I am a little hesitant to cook up a patch especially as I am not using the
code. But if you wrote and tested on I could entertain applying such a patch
until upstream catches. It may touch quite a few files, so some patience and
dedication would be needed.

What do you mean? Today I merely tagged this bug "upstream".

Absolutely not.

Hi,
Thanks for the very quick response.
On my system, it is gsl/gsl_filter.h, rather than
gsl/filter/gsl_filter.h . I'm not sure why - I'm running stable and have
manually backported the testing release, as gsl_filter.h is new and I'm
using it in my code.
$ apt-file find gsl_filter.h

intrigeri, what is rationale for upping it to "normal"?
Maybe you would like/expect to have it in Buster? Maybe some one plans to upstream Ubuntu profile,
etc. :)
I would really like to have it, but looking at Thunderbird experience, we kinda lack abstractions
for launching almost arbitrary

hppa is a strange thing. When bootstrapping it, you actually need the
64bit variant. The strange thing is: There is binutils-hppa64-linux-gnu,
but that's really a lie. There is no libc ABI for hppa 64bit.
