that is visible in stack traces so my next theory is a KMS/DRM screen
update failure. To investigate that please try these separately:
* Disable atomic KMS in /etc/environment:

and reboot.
Per comment #18 please also avoid using a dock in testing. We would like
to minimize the number of variables.
