Is it possible for you to start cups under valgrind[1] , and attach the
relevant logs . This would help us track the memory corruption issue (
probably a race condition ) .

I dont see this fixed in trusty. I have attached a screenshot describing
the issue.
libreoffice creates a symlink , which does not play nice with desktop.
evince is not a symlink, thus the user is presented with an to mark it as
executable or ignore
