suggest to remove ubuntu-desktop-minimal and software-properties-gtk -

I remember talking to the GNOME developers about this, I think it was in
person at a conference last year. From what I recall, they said the
OpenGL backend had issues so there was good reason to leave it disabled.

Hissing and high-pitched noises occasionally play through headphones. It
happens as a one-off but happens frequently. Sometimes it happens whilst
playing audio, but sometimes just after audio plays. It's difficult to
reliably reproduce but it happens often.
There is a hack
Reboot fixed the problem.
A notice should be added when upgrading firefox that a reboot is
necessary.
