For some reason the combo seems to be stuck in "tune" mode. I've tried
restarting everything. Hitting tune on the rig and amp to get it to
cycle but nothing seems to be working. What am I overlooking?

I have an odd problem and I'm not sure what I am doing wrong or what is
not set correctly.
The KX3 combo will not key my Acom 2000a. it was working 160-20 but now
seems to be fubar everywhere. I was using the rig/amp to generate 30-40w
out put to drive the big amp. I'm not sure what I have se
I've used the QC-15 and the are good. I had a headset buddy but the boom
was "limp" it worked. I have a Uflymic for the QC15 if anyone has an
interest.
My choice now is the Bose QC25 and modmic by Antlion. The QC25 has been
replaced by the QC35 so you can get a "25" in an affordable range.

I am wanting to use N1MM+ to send messages but I am getting an error
message. I was told KY codes could be used the same as cw but apparently
I am not well versed in such codes.
I am getting an error "invalid recording filename, abort". Any clues to
what I am overlooking?

I have purchased a used KX3 with a 5400 SN. Are there any updates/mods
that need to be done to bring this unit up to current production
standards? Besides updating the firmware if it is not current release.

Has anyone put together a KX-3 kit. Is any more or less involved that
putting together a K-3? Anyone use a KX-3 in a contest and interfaced
with N1MM+? Any quirks/tips? and finally I am looking for a KX-3 trying

I had an inquiry...the 500Hz filter is in fact an 8 pole that was
purchased direct from INRAD, #728 is what the the INRAD site shows.

I use n1mm as my contest software and I asked about using n1mm to key a
installed k3 dvr. Im glad to see it can be done. My question is has
anyone used a usbIII from Microham and n1mm.
I travel on occasion to different places for contests and keeping
equipment to a minimum or at least minimum
Im getting somewhat disappointed with my k-3. The sub is listening to
the same freq as the main. nothing is blinking, nothing is linked. Ive
turned the sub off, turned the rig off. When I turn the main af all the
way down the sub rf and af gain controls what is being heard so it
appears the
well the decimal is not blinking and the sub rx seems to be off in la-la
land. Toggle between vfo a and b and two different stations are there
turn the sub on and only hear the main freq. both volume controls seem
to control different ears guess it still isnt off diversity that is.

I have a K-3 with sub rx installed and it was working ok up until
today. Now it seems there is no vfo control on the sub. when the main
vfo knob is moved the freq changes and acts normal. when sub is pushed
the sub rx is listening to the same freq as the main except the display
reads a diffe

Seems that the problem is on 80 and 40. I went manually through tx gain
calibrate and at the moment the error only shows on 80 and 40. Radio
transmits. The radio says the swr is 1.1 to 1, external meter says 1.1
to 1 but the utility still says high swr.

Ok Ive completed the watt meter calibration and the radio and external
meter both are in agreement now but a new problem has raised its head.
( sort of remember this happening when I first put the rig together but
the error didnt repeat). When I do the Tx gain calibrate the utility
says there
The 5w calibration was 5.3 on each band. The 50w calibration showed 42w
each band.

I have K-3 2746. Running the current firmware 3.41 etc. I have not seen
100w output from this radio ever. I hooked up my cantenna and ran the
tx gain through the k-3 utility and get the following numbers for tx
gain along with the corresponding power output

Thanks for the input. I recalibrated and the problem actually got
worse. The radio didnt reset itself this morning, just siting there

Well audio can be found off the front headphone jack. Which is totally
wrong. Audio should be coming off the back line in and out. Something
is not right. I am using a Microham set of cables for the K-3.
Is there a "trick" to shut off headphone audio and take it off the back.

My rx just went stone cold deaf. Was listening on 40m. An s-7 noise
came on then nothing. Five month wait on the radio and then poof! Im
not happy. yes it is all bands not even getting WWV. Right after the
noise WWV was in on 10Mhz for a bit. There was no transmitting this

right. I cant orient the slots with the finished side out with the

In the low power Tx calibration procedure. You go band to band and set
the power to 5w and push the various buttons in sequence.
Questiononce you have xmit to the dummy load do you move the
power control so the reading is
Well SN 790 is built no real mechanical issues. One large inner tooth
lockwasher was missing and a longer black screw to fix the transistor to
the bottom cover.
I was performing some of the set up at the end and was having trouble
setting the bandwith for the filters that were installed. The
Ordered 11/26. Will ship 7-10 days.
and now the building and the search for the optimal contest
configuration begins.
