Your RX EQ settings will have to be customized to your ears and the

Have a new K3S and need to find the best settings.
What are people using for their SSB and CW RX EQ 8 band settings.
Same for the SSB Lo and Hi cut points.
What seems to be the best NR settings.

Is it possible to write a macro for each of these functions to let one toggle
them on and off? Be very useful to hear the effect if this is possible after
one leaves the menu setup.
Thanks!

I see where one can program the TX settings using the TE command to use in
a macro. I cannot find a corresponding RE command in the K3 Programmer's
Reference for macro use. Is there no such command? If so, where is it
documented? If not, anyone have an idea as to why? If not, what's the best

Wayne,
Oh so quickly the forecast comes true may I eat humble pie regarding the
earlier comments about features. A separate RX EQ for CW and SSB might be
really useful. I listen to CW with a low pitch close to 310 Hz and being
able to further attenuate high frequencies above 800 Hz might

Ok, that didn't work real well. Or should I say, it worked too well...
I set these up on a noisy, empty band along with my room a/c providing
lots of ambient noise.
I would also like my name added to the list for RX audio equalization for each
mode.

Add my name to that, for future firmware addition.

So RX equalization is most useful to those of us who like a wide CW

In CW mode, just DUAL PB and adjust the width to the total width you
wish to monitor. Your preferred pitch will be accentuated, but you can
still get band context.

the RX EQ be saved per mode, that is, one for
SSB and one for CW?
Thanks and 73, Bud N7CW

Yes, Bud, it would be very nice if the RX eq was mode specific.

I cut some of the higher bands as he did in order to reduce noise. But
not too much, in order to hear signals farther off freq I generally
use a pretty wide xfil to hear more of the adjacent signals. (There
aren't too many of them out there lately.)

Just curious, has anyone found RX eq to be useful for CW? Just
wondering what settings people like, if not flat.

I have my sidetone pitch set for 550 Hz. The RX EQ is adjusted so that the
400 HZ band (button 4) is at +2 and the others above that are all set
for -16. This eliminated a lot of QRN and other band noise plus gives a

Bud
Nope. When you change from CW to SSB you'll have to redo those EQ settings.
