you're right, that's the functionality I was searching for.
But there is one (important) difference:
The "open file"-function in OJ 1.3 loads every selected raster-file in
a single layer, while the "add image layer"-function from OJ 1.2 F
loads them in one single layer. The

the old function is used when
a) you use drag an drop
b) use the normal open file option (i.e. not the sextante version) -
as you see from the drop down file types list, it contains image file
formats as well
