No problem at all.
The old truth still stands.
If you want to do it right do it yourself.

Sure, but from a programming point of view it is better to have all
characters the same size, then if in the exponent or subscript then
shrink them. That way you treat all characters equally and this question
as an example cannot arise. Just good principle.

One last question,
On Mason's insistence I used the other option
"roman_numeral_analysis_tool". I got it to work, but there were clashes

You don't need to install anything. Just put "roman_numeral_analysis_tool.ily"
in the same directory as your lilypond file, and put
\include "roman_numeral_analysis_tool.ily"

Mason,
I think I will go with your suggestion as it does not seem Lilypond is
capable of natively doing Analysis above the line.

It's tested with 2/3/4-voices divisi, all in one score.
Although not tested, I see no reason why it shouldn't work with even

I just took another shot at configuring MIDI playback in Frescobaldi.
Before the last ubuntu reinstall I performed, I had the good fortune
that it worked by simply starting `timidity -iA` on the command line,
then refreshing MIDI output ports in Frescobaldi’s MIDI options and
