I wrote to the company saying that the download failed, and they sent me

sites, with no problem at all. I hope this is a one-off.

Last time I bought a cd from E lucevan le stelle the download didn't

If you can't work things out with the company, Paypal usually will
refund your money. Go to the main Paypal page, find your transaction
and open a dispute (but try to sort it out with seller first).

Rob,
apropos your plight, this recent youtube from Marco Mencoboni is curiously
coincidental. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7obecRjpwG4
Ah! The world of early music records...
The Mouton recording by F. Pavan sounds great though. I'd like to find
scores of tracks 11 and 26.
Good Luck

I agree, Jean-Marie, they do need to do so something to improve their

I'm so sorry this didn't work out. I want to encourage downloads, especially

I have never had a single problem with Magnatune or Emusic or ITunes, but it
was not the same with them. It's a pity, because the couple od Cds I have

Do they perhaps also sell CDs? Or does Franco Pavan have the right to
sell them himself under the CD format.
Personally, I have rarely downloaded music for fear of saturating my
computer.
Often, the performer has a right to sell directly. I have certainly

Dear Jeff
Thanks for sharing that. No, theorbo-as-I-know-it is not a good idea, your
experience confirms my thoughts about that. Perhaps archlute, or my bass
lute in d' (aka the fake mandora).
thanks again

Re Magnatune
Magnatune gives half of the sale, net, to the artists.
This is a good thing!
Plus, they invite you to give away a few free copies, which may seem
strange, but it also a good idea.

Just a few words in defense of E lucevan le stelle.
I feel sorry that a number of people on this list were put off by the
download problems. I\'m sure the company will do their best to resolve
them; they are very well aware of the problem.
Well, I had some minor problems with my downloads too but
I had the same problem,
some time ago. Download failed. But they were very helpful to deliver
the files in the end.
I think it's hard for a small label to meet the standards in all ways,
but I think its worth supporting them,
as their music is quite nice and comes at a fair price.

Thanks for the plug with Magnatune. They have been a very good company to
work with.
I hope to obtain a copy of the Mouton disc.
