Hello Jim,
That sounds pretty much like a ground loop problem.
The problem with 2 prong and 3 prong power cords is, the 2 prong power cords
are grounded with a 1 watt 100 kohm resister to the chassis.
All depending on the company that made the unit, this resister is either
grounded to the

cleaning the disc if they persist.

I'd recommend giving windows media player a look. It's library is
completely accessible with no scripting required. Very powerful and easy to
use once you've spent a little time playing with it. It won't get broken in
a couple of days time either with yet another software release that
Hi list, my soundforge, when it gets to the end of playing a file,
automatically goes to the beginning, and starts again. i am sure that
it didn't used to do this, so i must have done something to cause it.
any help would be appreciated. brian.

Hi, if you're looking for something simple, and cheep, to just record

There are many programs that will do this. First, I am guessing that you
already have a microphone? Then the programs:

GoldWave http://www.goldwave.com
RecordPad sound recorder http://www.nch.com.au
WavePad http://www.nch.com.au

Hi everyone,
I am new to the list, but I'm learning a lot.
I would like to make a recording of my voice; rather, a demo so I can

some voiceover work. What would be the best software program to use to
make this recording, and then burn a cd for shopping my demo?

Hi to all,
I was looking around in my CDex settings and found some options I was not
sure which one to choose.
In the CD drive settings I found a combo box that lets you set the rip
method.
By default, standard is chosen, but here are the other choices.

Hi listers:
I have a great deal of deja vu and ear ringing, so I guess its time
to chime in.
I had a very similar issue last year and I've discovered several
fixes and one thing left which may also prove valueable as well.
I would have the same hum, hiss and hard drive noises as
Hello Audrey,
There is a peace of software that comes with windows that will do this for
you.
It is called, Sound Recorder.
It is in your start menu in the entertainment section.
Just hit your windows key.
If you are a JAWS user, you will hear JAWS say, start menu programs
update.

Well, I got myself in trouble. For a long time, I have been using cdex_151.
I then installed, cdex_170b2.
Everything was fine until I found I couldn't convert WMA files to MP3.
I then reinstalled 151, and the problem followed me. I made sure to do a
complete uninstall.
I then tried to reinstall
High Jim,
That connecter you have, is called an XLR connecter.
The problem may be the cable itself.
You can get replacement XLR cables at RadioShack or any full line music
store.
If changing out the cable doesn't get red of the noise, then try a different
mike.
My best regards.
John.

Ok, I got rid of the hum by changing the settings on the mixer, but now I
still have a little bit of a sound like the hard drive is causing some
little noise, but again if I unplug the computer it goes away. This only
happens when the mike is being used on the mixer and hmm it has a different

Sound Forge version 9.0d is now available. Here are the changes in this
version:
The Loop Tuner window has been reimplemented an independent tool window.
Added support for LPEC files imported from Digital Voice Editor software.
Added support for WAV files up to 4 GB. Select the Allow Wave
I don't know if this will solve your problem or not, but you could try
Revo Uninstaller from http://www.revouninstaller.com/. When you bring it
up, it should list all of the applications on your PC. Use the JAWS
cursor to click Hunter Mode in the tools bar on the top of the screen
and then do
And it appears that the arrows and page up and down keys work correctly now.
I'm able to load files and skim around in them with build D. I do get script
errors with Jim's scripts though. They keep referring to Hot Spot Clicker.
Do I need to install that then? Also, the current time function
Hi Peter,
I don't know of a way to add files to where the cursor is, but I wish there
were.
What you can do though after you have added a file is press the letter j for
jump, enter a search term which will locate the desired
file, tab to the list of files which match your search criteria,
