Congratulations Joe on your NBD on New Year's Day !
The RBW Blue is such a fantastic color. She is a beauty ! I am sure that
you are, if not already have fallen in love with it. Every time I walk by
mine here in my home, a 52cm Blue Clem, I admire it every time. I am very
delighted to own
Leah: It's a wonderful bike whose journey I've followed for years, it feels
like an old friend arrived at my doorstep. Thanks so much!
Kim: It's a 52, it just looks huge in the photos with 42mm tires. But it's
a loong 52, I've owned shorter recumbents!

Apologies if flashing GIF is annoying; you can tell that both bikes are
VERY similar in size. The Leo rides just as predictably as the Sam, with
minimal differences. Out of the saddle climbs are more efficient on the
Leo, and it's not as squirrely with steering as the Sam on slow rolls. The
Surprise! And happy NBD. You really know how to ring in the new year. From
NYC, to Las Vegas, to Michigan and now to California this bike has lived
quite a life and doesn’t look any worse for the wear, I’d say.
Enjoy and put some marks on that thing.

Hi everyone. Happy New Year!
I am the proud owner of a grey Cheviot. One of the reasons that I
purchased that bike was to ride on bike trails near me (such as the Erie
Canal Trail) with my wife. She and I have done a bit of riding together.
However, as I am a more experienced cyclists, she
I did a couple rides around and up Mount Diablo to finish up 2023. The
ride around Mount Diablo actually features steeper climbing than the ride
up Mount Diablo, but they are both a good day's work. I'm going to take a
run at a Mount Diablo summit on Thursday.

Are you the man with a beard who rode past me on a green Platypus in Land Park

I’d love to check out your Platy some time.

For the type of riding you describe either will work. Since it is for her
she should go with whichever speaks to her more. Perhaps a higher price
will make her treat it more delicately and perhaps ride it less OR perhaps
because the Platy is fancier she will wan to ride it much more. Either

rebuild the wife's new Platyups front wheel. Silver would be preferred.

I first, wish my biker friends a happy new year!
I am new to the list and enjoy the tales & profit from the advice.
On the touring tire subject I was over thinking it. Just cause I have a great

Hey all, I have a serious bike bag addiction. So, bumping these two fine

age and usage, but are in fine condition with no problems. Either will
serve you well. (I'd put my money on the Carradice outlasting you unless

Both saddlebags are spoken for, pending payment.
Thanks to all on the list.

You
Ron,
Thank you for posting this. I have always like the Berthoud decaleur; good
to know they're available. Might be time time to lose the cords that attach
to the drops on my hbars. Also, great looking handlebar/bag setup and a
gorgeous Mercian!
Happy New Year!
