I suggest to enter a new bug by running the command «ubuntu-bug linux»,
because this one is really invalid. The reason here were a lot of LVM
snapshots which take a long time to set up.
I'd still be curious whether there is an easy way to debug the initramfs
scripts.

USB device hangs on boot
To manage
This has to do with the USB mouse. If the mouse is not plugged in, the
boot time is much shorter. The hang does not only happen during boot.
It happens any time when a USB key or mouse is plugged in. It takes
about a minute for the device to be ready.
I run into this problem on Xubuntu oneiric

I'm experimenting with LVM snapshots, which makes the initial LVM scan
(command «vgchange -a y») take a long time. But I thought that would
happen later in the boot process.
Is there an easy way to debug the initramfs processing?

The usb mouse is disconnected unusually, but it is not the cause
of the slow boot.
The slow boot should be caused by slow XFS mounting, see blow:
