[hardy] resume do not work on SMP
** Description changed:
At the moment suspend/resume on ASUS P5LD2-VM mainboard is brocken.
- It need s3_bios and s3_mode quirk to make video work, Bug #190456 ( fixed )
- "libata.noacpi=1" (with kernel 2.6.24) to make libata work properly, Bug
#202767 ( new )
- and some ubuntu acpi-support
I had a similar problem - because I had a BIOS password set. Try to
unset the BIOS password if you have set one, then changing the
brightness on idle should work.

brettalton : Sorry, I won't have the ressources and time to build these
drivers for Gutsy, at least in the next week and since Hardy will soon
be a beta, I will concentrate on Hardy, but thank you for your testing.
According to your comment and Martijn Vermaat comment, I believe that

I get the same thing with an aluminum Apple keyboard, on amd64 builds of
both Gutsy and Hardy. Attempts to connect using hidd in Gutsy always
timed out without prompting for a passkey (I don't seem to have hidd now
that I've upgraded to Hardy).

These are two bugs actually.
The original complaint about '$ completing environment variables is
valid IMO. The bash-completion package does the right thing here and
completes to: '$#!~'. The builtin completion tries to complete
environment variables. So this bug is in the builtin completion of ba

On a DELL laptop (e.g. Latitude D620), you need to provide the BIOS

I don't know if hal has a possibility to inform the program which called

with any other mode than 640x480. According to that fact, should we
still consider xrandr as a viable solution? Otherwise what options can
we use, ddcprobe?
