Luckily the fault was mine, not 4Ds :)

Your answers assured my that 4d can produce wp til pdffound that the
document was produced but on another disk/folder than expected...! My fault

4d Write Pro document to pdf?

- On mac i normaly produce pdf documents via SET PRINT OPTION(9;3;$FileName)
and then some print commands. But SET PRINT OPTION does not work when used
with WP Print. No error, OK=1 but no pdf is created? Tested with 4d 16.6 and
17.4.

If i use SET PRINT PREVIEW(True) before WP Print, i get the WP document as
PDF in Preview.

Is it possible to print a 4d Write Pro document to a pdf file?

Multiple SSL certificates on server

[4dialog via 4D_Tech]

I need to use a specific client SSL certificate for some functions against a
external partner, all functions calls goes from the server. The server have
also a general server ssl certificate for the web server installed under 4d
server folder.

The function is a contract sign system where upload contract as pdf and
download when signed as a PAdES document (origin contract + sign data).

Functions are a combination of http get/post and webservice.

When installing the certificat on a 4d client (mac keychain) and run all
functions from 4d client, the certificate is automaticly been used. (have
set info in keychain certificate for external partners domain).

But this must run under SP functions on the server. So to the question :)

- If i install the client certificate in keychain on the 4d server machine -
is it possible that 4D automaticly choose the client certificate (due to
domain..?) - have tested without luck...but no errors to work with

if i install it in a folder under 4d server structure, use "http set
certificates folder":
- will webservice calls use this certificate?
- What about other normal web traffic in the same periode, will it also be
using the client certificate - probably with an error as following?

The problem with "http set certificates folder" is: - It is used in all the
processes of the database.

Have anybody some experience with this?

4d will not start ssl on 443

[4dialog via 4D_Tech]

I have installed ssl certificates and tries to start 4d server 16.5 on osx
10.12.6 but port 443 will not open. 
No ssl traffic gets to the webserver. Normal port is set to 8001 for this
web, it works.
Tried to chance normal port to 80 and ssl on 443 - both ports not working.

I did not get any q. from helpertool when started up 4d server on 443 - it
seems that it does not work.
I have checked - the helpertool is present in the server package in Macos
folder.

- the osx is restarted, 4d is restarted with and without 443, ssl
certificate everything.

Any with a tip how to get around this problem and get 443 port up and
running?

Thanks for all answers.

The problem is not i 4D, i get the leading zero but only in a text cell.
In excel you can format manualy a column as number with fixed numbers
preformated (selfdefined format). In my case, 11 numbers, "000". If
you put 10 numbers in a cell it gets leading zero.

But is there a way to do this formating from 4d?

XLS plugin - format number with leading zero

I need to build a excel document where born date (6 char) needs to be number
format with leading zero if only 5 chars.
How can i do this in XLS plugin, what command, what params.
There is many format commands but cant find any documentation on them with
explanation?

I use 4d auth but store aditional data about the user in tables.
The user list is exported only on server, only server admin can access it.
But you can store it in the db as well. The 4d user list can be changed by
the 4d admin user, so export from stucture is done every night in the backup
process. Import is done for every startup of 4d server, either its new
structure or not.
All is then automaticly, no problems when updating structure :)

By the way, Hilsen = Greeting in norwegian :)

I always use both, 4d user and user tables to add info about the user. 4D
user has a uniq id, so its easy to add records about any user. When updating
versions on the server, i just sends the 4D users to a list that can be
stored outside or in the dbase and replace them after startup of server.

Using extra tables for users makes it easy to implement password strategy
for change with change date, md5 check of old passwords etc, but most of all
i can build individual ListBox settings for all table listing - each user
can have different fields, fonts, color etc pr table lists.

I tested the KB http://kb.4d.com/assetid=77204, its 4d14 but i forced upgrade
to v16.
The demo has a problem with the video stream, it only shows fragments of the
video from isight.
The capture is as bad as the stream.

Have someone made a 4dv16 version that gives full video quality?

I think you have to take it step by step, 12 - 13, 13-14, 14-15...
The step from 13 - 14 is the heavy one where 14 demands primary keys for
every table.

Had the same problems for some time ago, OSX server, 4dv12.x.
It was duplicatet 4d processes on the osx server, seems that an "old" 4d
process hanging and it made the problem. Restarted the OSX server fixed the
problem :)

PK wizard, how to start?

I have the component in v13 - but it does not start. Find hundreds of
comments around the PK issue but no place shows how to get the PK_Wizard to
start.
