Re: Need Help! - Customer upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 Pro. 4D v13.6 Built Server Won't Run

2021-01-20 Thread Ken Eyring via 4D_Tech
Thank you everyone who responded. We tried to disable DEP and that did
not solve the issue.

The first time the issue arose, it looked like it was running as a
service - (the status said it was running), but no one could log into
the built server. Clients would receive a -10002 error.

Because the application was needed for production and they were already
down for a day+, they reverted back to Win 7.

I'm looking into upgrading their application to the latest version of 4D.

This list has been a wonderful resource during my many years of using
4D. I don't come here often, but when I do... I always find excellent
advice. As always, my sincere thanks to all who share their knowledge.

Best regards,
Ken

Windows 10 has tightened security. Someone else suggested checking to make
sure structure and data file are not set to read only. I would also recommend
trying to run as Admin. (Right click on 4D server app, select “run as Admin”
and select structure). Good luck.

it is really important to specify the platform (OS)

but assuming this is Mac, maybe you have some unexpected files inside one of
your database folders (components, resources, plugins, extras, etc) that can

Re: Need help identifying a crash source

2017-07-23 Thread Bruno LEGAY via 4D_Tech
Hi again,

It was discussed here :
http://forums.4d.fr/Post/FR/19031749/2/19066921#19066921

And there is a fix in 4D v15.4 HF1

ACI0096430 A query on three fields including a composite index
could lead to a crash.

And Miyako gave further details :
the revised summary of ACI0096430 reads "A query on three field
including a composite index could lead to a crash"
the description also talks about "composite index + a non-indexed
field", in other words, 2-field composite index plus a non-index field seems to
have triggered a crash.

Not sure if it fits your situation.

I haven't tried 4D v15.4 HF1.

Sannyasin,
I took Bruno's suggestion and deleted the composite index for these two
fields. After that I was still getting a crash but it had moved further
down the execution chain. So I just deleted all the composite indexes.

That seemed to fix the problem.

Re: Need help identifying a crash source

2017-07-22 Thread Kirk Brooks via 4D_Tech
Bruno,
That seems to be the issue. I say 'seems' because I could run the same
method with the same parameters in a different context and not have a
problem. And like I said this method is called very frequently. None the
less when I took out the composite index the problem shifted further down
the execution chain - to another similar situation with different methods
but a composite index in the mix anyway.

I knew there was a problem with the composites with 4D server but this is
the first time I've had a problem otherwise.

Thanks again for the lead.

Oh yeah, the composite index thing. I'd forgotten that one and this is
15.4. Good suggestion, I'll have to look at that.

Re: Need help identifying a crash source

2017-07-21 Thread Ronald Rosell via 4D_Tech
Kirk, something seems odd about this code. Toward the end you have:

If ($key#"")

QUERY([KVP];[KVP]key=$key;*)

QUERY([KVP]; & ;[KVP]dir=$dir;*)

QUERY([KVP])

End if

That last Query([Table]) would bring up the query editor. I’ve never tried
doing that at the end of a string of Query parameters. Either I have specified
query parameters (the last one NOT ending in ;*) or I bring up the query table
by referencing just the table and no parameters.

Perhaps this is what you need?

If ($key#"")

QUERY([KVP];[KVP]key=$key;*)

QUERY([KVP]; & ;[KVP]dir=$dir)

ELSE

QUERY([KVP])

End if

Re: Need help with LEP printing

2016-11-13 Thread Peter Lerch

> And I also need the solution for doing the same thing on windows.

Hi Kirk,

This solution here prints all document types on Windows (assuming the
file-type is linked to any application that can print it).

Pass the following string to LEP:
powershell "Start-Process 'full path to file' -Verb print -WindowStyle
hidden -PassThru | %{Start-Sleep 10;$_} | Stop-Process"

It will print a file with the application that is set in the print
associations of its file type (e.g. .XLS -> Excel). So it doesn't rely on
Acrobat Reader to print PDFs.

Fore some PowerShell in 4D background, see http://kb.4d.com/assetid=76530

Regards,

Peter

You flatter me. (I think.) But the timestamp on gitHub suggests the last
update on it was over 2 months ago. I think Miyako is very good but not
necessarily prescient.

There is another option. Use Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows. It has always

Ah ha! That's the kind of hack I was looking for. Of course it assumes the
user has Acrobat on board but that's easy to deal with.

Thank you.

RE: Need help with LEP printing

2016-11-10 Thread Timothy Penner
Hi Kirk,

If you are in Mac Terminal, and issue the same command, does it work from
there?

Make sure you are testing the same shell as you specified in the command, like
this:

1) Open Mac Terminal.app
2) Navigate to the directory containing the pdf
3) Change the shell to /bin/sh by issuing the command: /bin/sh
4) Now in the /bin/sh shell, issue the command you sent to the shell: lpr
Test.pdf

If it doesn’t work there, then it won't work from 4D either. Make it work from
the terminal first, then adapt for 4D's LEP.

Sorry if this isn't much help, I just wanted to help rule out the obvious first.

Thanks! I will have a look. I now remember needing to add cert separately for

2016-10-28 Thread Keisuke Miyako
please study the method "HTTPS_DEBUG" provided with the plugin's sample
database.

C_BLOB($in;$out)
C_LONGINT($err)
ARRAY LONGINT($tNomOption;0)
ARRAY TEXT($tValOption;0)
APPEND TO ARRAY($tNomOption;CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST)
APPEND TO ARRAY($tValOption;"1")

APPEND TO ARRAY($tNomOption;CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER)
APPEND TO ARRAY($tValOption;"1")
APPEND TO ARRAY($tNomOption;CURLOPT_CAINFO)
APPEND TO ARRAY($tValOption;Convert path system to POSIX(Get 4D folder(Current
resources folder)+"cacert.pem"))

APPEND TO ARRAY($tNomOption;CURLOPT_DEBUGFUNCTION)
APPEND TO ARRAY($tValOption;"CB_DEBUG")

$err:=cURL ("https://www.bigcommerce.com";$tNomOption;$tValOption;$in;$out)

Re: Need help setting up oAuth with cURL

2016-10-26 Thread Spencer Hinsdale

Hi Miyako,

I recently tried replacing OAuth.bundle (10/10/14) with cURL.bundle (9/30/16)
and ran into a problem with Error 60:
Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates.

I found that I could work around the problem by setting
CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER
to zero, which didn't seem like a great idea so I reverted :)

I tested against bigcommerce.com and shopify.com, getting the same error, using
15.2 on El Capitan with Firewall off. I did not have common-crypto installed.

I would be happy to post code, re-test, etc..

Thanks!

Spencer

ah, you got me there, it's called "Get unixtime" in common-crypto.

Re: Need help setting up oAuth with cURL

2016-10-26 Thread Kirk Brooks
Miyako,
Thanks for the reply. I found the presentation you did at the '12 Summit
where you used cURL & oAuth2 to connect to google. I'm working through that
since it details the steps.

I removed the deprecated oAUTH plugin and installed the new cURL and common
crypto.

I notice there's one method that's been deleted: SYSTEM Get unixtime

Easy enough, but does it need to be UTC or local time?

Thanks again.

the command names are exactly the same, nothing has changed other than the name

code written for the old plugin will work "as is" with the "curl" and
