In banking, however, non-verbal questions which are mostly graphical and chart based are exempted in reasoning section, even though, their percentage is approximately twenty in particular section. I would like to be corrected if is their any misperception. On 6/14/10, akhilesh akhil.akhi...@gmail.com wrote: Hello MR. navneet, I'll clarify your 1st question 1st. The pwd act itself provides that the mathematical questions have to be eliminated from the exams for the visually challenged In other words, the reading of the concern section suggests that it is mandatory for the appropriate government To exempt the visually challenged from mathematical questions. However, your case is a special case, and it require special consideration. I’ll suggest you to file the RTI application and ask the relevant questions to the concern authority, and state your qualification as well. I think if the physics is an essential qualification for the TGT, and and if you’re not studied the concern subject, you don’t qualify for the concern post. Fight for the PGT. as I’ve said earlier, file an application under the RTI act as soon as possible, and keep us updating as well. Thanks and regards, Akhilesh. Vashishtha, Deependra Manucha, Harish Kaution and many others. I am writing below some points namely Case No. 1 , Case No. 2 and so on and I want to put these points on PWD ACT blog. please do correction in any grametical or legal mistake and help me to say my problems more clearly . Please remember that these points namely case no 1 and 2 all these points are related to my experience of my life till today Today I will talk only 2 cases and they are related to reservation for the blinds . please read and tell me what I must do to put my voice more effectively and to get justice ? all suggestion are highly appriciated . Case No. 1 :- Since I am a post graduate of mathematics and I want to became a PGT/Lecturer of mathematics and for this I am continuously appearing the recruitment exams but a change that I am observing from last few years , in the reservation three percent for PWD's (Person With Disability ) according to PWD ACT 1995. Now a day a new trend has come into existence that's they reserve any specific post for VH(visually handicapped) , any other specific posts for HH (Hearing handicapped) For example any posts of PGT Hindi have been reserved for VH and any posts of PGT Economics have been reserved for HH. But I think that if is a wrong method of reservation because PWD ACT allows for horizontal type reservation in which all handicapped candidates should be listed whatever their subjects may be and one VH candidate is selected for out of hundred posts . In the existing trend , if a blind candidate with the subject mathematics is appearing in exam and the recruitment authority has previously reserved the post of Hindi PGT for blind . This is not right , to correct it What we can do ? Case No. 2 :- Since I am a employ of Kendriya Vidhalaya Sanghathan under central Government of India and I am on the post of PRT (Primary Teacher ) and to get promotion on TGT Maths (Trained Graduate Teacher ) . The necessary qualification is that candidate should have a graduate degree with Physics , Chemistry , Maths to promote on TGT Maths. But a problem is that I am a blind so I could not take Physics and Chemistry my subject in graduation was (1) Mathematics (2) Hindi Literature (3) Economics . hence my combination of subjects in graduation is different from combination which have been decided to get a job of T G T maths . But I want to apply for promotion because I have post Graduate Degree in Mathematics So this rule of Government is not right and to make correction where should I apply for it ? What is the procedure ? The pressure was heavy on his illiterate parents, a farmer father and housewife mother, but they never yielded. Had they heeded their advice, the world would have been minus one inspiring story today. From a small village Sitaramapuram near Machlipatnam town in Krishna district, this visually-challenged boy has made it to the portals of the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. The 18-year-old is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Sciences in Brain and Cognitive Science, Business Management and Computer Science at the varsity. “Though they are illiterate, both of them, they had strong will to get me educated. This inspired me,” he says. Shortly after, about 13 years ago, an uncle of his enrolled him in Devnar School for the Blind in Hyderabad, and life took a different spin for Srikanth. “I didn't know anything when I joined school. I was like a rural introvert. I learned everything, I picked up English. I joined community service. Now, I have occupied a place in the society where people are respecting me,” he says, “It has been a long journey.” From being a “rural introvert”, Srikanth went on to secure 92 per cent in the Class 10 Board Examinations and was a two-time recipient of Pratibha Awards given by the Andhra Pradesh State government for students who excel in public examinations every year. He also received a citation for outstanding community service as Youth Leader in Lead India 2020 from former President APJ Abdul Kalam and was a national chess player playing against the likes of Koneru Humpy. Intermediate was next and he wanted to take up Maths, Physics, Chemistry (MPC) stream to be eligible to study engineering. But a disinclined officialdom was not encouraging. “When I visited the offices for the first time, they said get away from here. Even an IAS officer was not able to realise the potential of blind persons,” he recollects. “After a lot of trouble,” Srikanth finally managed to enrol himself for MPC stream at a private college, a good three months after the classes began. He went on to secure an aggregate percentage of 93 at the end of two years. Challenges persisted still. “When I wanted to prepare for IIT, one coaching centre told me straightaway I was not fit to join them.” Another top institute in the country did not even bother to respond to his application. “I didn't even get my hall ticket. I was not even allowed to write AIEEE. But, I was not disturbed because I was focussed on my goal and I wanted to study Sciences.” Guided by his mentors Swarnalatha, teacher at Devnar School for the Blind and G. Ravishankar, a software consultant in the US, Srikanth realised his ambition of studying at MIT. “Only 120 seats are open for international students for which students from 70 countries in the world fight,” he says proudly of his admission that came with a US $49,000 scholarship. “My mentor Swarnalatha was like a backbone to me in whatever I did so far. She has worked harder than me.” She was by his side throughout: fighting for him, managing his study expenses, recording material for him to study easily and even lodging him in her house during initial days of his Intermediate. Mr. Ravishankar, whom Srikanth met during an international conference at Indian School of Business, helped him apply to different universities abroad. “Because I was a special student, we had to fill up some special forms. He also worked really hard with me for six months. Even now he is in contact and helps me with whatever I want.” Persons with disabilities, he says, suffer from lack of exposure and lack of opportunities. “You have to see where you stand in the society, not as a visually-challenged person but as a human being.”

[AI] required music audio lessons,
Dear Reddi, I am really thrilled to know about your interest in Classical Music. For making your fingers fluent on the keyboard, firstly you have to practice the basic Alankaars--First in slow tempo. Later on, as you find yourself more and more comfortable with them, try increasing the tempo step by step. I have heard that there some sites which have some elementary music lessons, but I am not sure how effective they are, since Classical music requires practice in the supervision of your Guru. For any further queries, please contact me off the list. I shall try to satisfy them to the maximum possible extent. Few days back, I even got a very inspiring message from one our genius friends, [and a prominent journalist himself] Mr. Subramani L. urging me to do a webcast with the help of Mr. Prateek Agrawal but I still have to check its feasibility with these two friends. Re: [AI] Assistance for visually challenged in Air India international flights.
In general, Prior to travelling / while booking the ticket, person must request accomodation. Certainly, it is mandatory for the respective airlines to provide requested accomodation for the disabled individuals. As for as the convinient of the person who is traveling tomorrow, I can give some tips from my personal experience. First, once she reaches airport, ask the person to request help from the gate agent to take her to the respective airlines e.g., Air India, right? Once, she reaches air India, she can ask the agent to help her in filling out the forms e.g., forms that indicate that you are leaving India. In the meantime, they will also help her to weigh her baggages. After getting this paper procedures done, she can seek their support to complete leaving formalities and security check as well. After security check done, air indian agent will take her to gate from where the plane takes off. Till the boarding time starts, she can wait and again Air India agent will come and take her in to the flight and make her seated. During transits, respective airline agents will come and take her and help her to get the transit security checks done. Before she arrives at U.S. port of entry, flight agents will help her to complete some paper works in the flight itself. Once she arrives at the port of entry, air prort agents will help her to get the baggages and take her to get immigration and get her through. After completing immigration, she can ask her to leave outside the airport gate or ask them to take her to domestic flight ( NOTE: it is depending up on her final destination). For the smooth travel, ask her to request wheel chair accomodation, if she has not done that yet. and it is much easier for first time travellers. Please feel free to ask any questions / clarifications. Hope, it helps. Thanking You. Re: [AI] Assistance for visually challenged in Air India international flights.
But advise your friend to contact the airline in advance. She may still get required assistance, but according to international law, airlines need to be notified 48 hours in advance and as a government owned airline, air india is a bit crazy at times. Re: [AI] Assistance for visually challenged in Air India international flights.
Hi Vamshi, Though Mr. Ramdoss has given detailed steps where the traveller would receive or require help, It would be worthwhile to just read the DGCA's CAR (Civil Aviation Requirements) on Carriage by Air of Persons with Disabilities and Persons with Reduced Mobility. You will appreciate that these Guidelines were framed after thorough interaction with the Disability Sector in which my organisation Svayam had also actively participated and are quite friendly to the disabled. However, often due ot ignorance on the part of users, these guidelines are not followed in totality. You can find the latest DGCA CAR on the subject on this link: http://dgca.nic.in/rules/car-ind.htm After click on this link, you will have further locate Section-3: Air Transport followed by Series M- Passenger Facilitation part I. For ready information I am attaching the same in PDF to all those who responded to Vamshi's mail. I reiterate, please ask for help and it is readily available. Generally you have sufficient number of staff that assist you with formalities and also once you have checked in, a staff is assigned to you until you board the aircraft. Once in the aircraft, you have the cabin crew who help you out. Just raise your hand until the staff locate you or you can ask fellow passenger also to call for the cabin crew. Currently there is no button available to indicate to crew that you need help. Similarly on arrival, the staff will help you with mobility and other clearance till you reach out of the exit. Hopefully she will have people to receive her at the airport in US. regards On 17 June 2010 01:18, Adhimoolam Vetrivel Murugan vadhimoo...@gmail.comwrote: But advise your friend to contact the airline in advance. Re: [AI] Assistance for visually challenged in Air India international flights.
Additionally, the Air India website has only this page which has some advice for Blind passengers travelling on International flight. I am copying the page hereitself, lest you get lost in the inaccessible website of AirIndia: Source: http://home.airindia.in/SBCMS/Webpages/International---Passengers-Requiring-Medical-Attention.aspx?MID=27 # The following instructions pertain to medical clearance and fitness to fly. Kindly complete all details of MEDIF (Medical Information Form) while making your booking. Most people with existing medical conditions are able to fly on a commercial aircraft without difficulty. However on flight the cabin air is pressurized and precautions are sometimes needed if you have a respiratory or heart problem. Medical clearance is required if - Fitness to travel is in doubt as a result of recent illness, hospitalization, injury or surgery. - You have an existing unstable medical condition. - Special services such as oxygen or the use of medical equipment onboard is needed. - You are traveling for medical reasons or treatment It is recommended that you check any vaccination requirements at least six weeks prior to your departure and carry adequate travel insurance to cover any medical costs incurred abroad. Most medical cases are straightforward, but others require individual assessment. In some cases, you may be asked to travel with a medical escort or with supplementary oxygen. Your fitness to fly is based on internationally accepted criteria, the aim being to ensure that you have a safe, comfortable and uneventful journey. Medical Clearance Unit If you have a condition that may affect you in-flight, please contact the nearest Air India office directly or your travel agent, for assistance in obtaining the required Medical clearance. Medical clearance is only considered upon receipt of the Medical information (MEDIF) forms. Cabin pressure *Passengers Requiring Medical Attention:* The cabin air pressure could cause a drop in oxygen in the blood. This is not a problem for most people, but a passenger with respiratory problems (such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)) may need to book supplementary oxygen. A request for the same needs to be made at the time of booking your flight. Post operative care Flying after an operation or a serious illness can be stressful. It is wise not to travel if you don't feel up to it. Post operative care Flying after an operation or a serious illness can be stressful. It is wise not to travel if you don't feel up to it. Traveling with medicines or medical equipment - It is advisable to carry the medication you may need during the flight in your hand baggage with the prescription. - Medication cannot be refrigerated on board. If medicines need to be kept cool, a cool bag or vacuum flask may be appropriate. Kindly discuss options with your pharmacist. - If traveling with medical equipment please advise Air India in advance, as clearance will depend on the type of equipment. - Medical clearance is required for the use of most medical equipment including nebulizers (used in some cases of asthma) and ventilators. - Equipment must be capable of being battery operated as it is not possible to guarantee power supply on-board our aircraft. - In normal circumstances, medical equipment which has been authorized can be used on board except during taxi, take off, approach and landing. Nebulizers Battery operated nebulizers can be used in-flight with the exception of during takeoff and landing. On Board Seating Safety regulations stipulate that passengers with additional needs should not be seated at emergency exits or in cross aisles that form part of emergency exit routes. Seats most suitable to the passenger’s needs will be allocated. Seeing –Eye dog/Passengers with impaired vision Seeing eye dogs may be carried free of charge if the dog is trained to lead the blind passenger or a passenger with impaired vision and dependant on such dog or the passenger has impaired hearing and is dependent on the dog, provided this is medically established or supported. The dog if properly harnessed and muzzled, may be permitted to be carried in the cabin but cannot occupy a seat. An advance request must be made at the time of booking. A meet and assist service can be provided, if assistance is required at departure and on arrival. If you are not capable of taking care of all your physical needs independently on board, we request you to travel with a companion who can assist you. The airline will not be responsible for providing on board assistance which may contravene health, safety or hygiene requirements. All individual country regulations for carriage of a dog must be met with. Wheel Chair Request In keeping with the requirement of Air Safety, carriage of passengers requiring wheelchairs assistance has to be restricted on our
