hi madam, if redemption is one problem, as we all know that, as per recent guidelines we can acquire mutual funds through De-mat and online trading accounts instead in physical format. despite of circulars by N.S.D.L most of the depository participants are unwilling to open online trading accounts along with De-mat on the reason that the circular is silent as regard to the procedural instructions for opening an online trading account. I really don't know what use would be of a De-mat without a trading account. till now i had been purchasing mutual funds online in SIPs through E.C.S and redeeming online. the solution might be having a account with all the features linked up I.E savings + De-mat + online trading so that any stock or mutual fund when purchased online the amount gets debited directly and or when anything is soled or redeemed it gets credited back. I approached ICICI and SBI for this 3 in 1 linked account but in wain. so we need to have some guidelines on opening an online trading account so that we might have a solution. and finally thanking you for your wonderful efforts on behalf of the entire access India friends. Safani says she aims to help clients create a positive professional identity on the Internet through Google profiles, LinkedIn and ZoomInfo, for example, as these tend to be among the first to appear in search results. Adding such entries can also help people who have little or no presence online, as that can be viewed with suspicion these days, she said. Hiring managers, if they were so inclined, might be able to learn about your political leanings, buying habits, hobbies and interests. But would they bother to do so? And would they hold that against you even if it had no bearing on the job? Mike Aitken, director of government affairs at the Society for Human Resource Management, a professional association, is sceptical that many hiring managers have the time or inclination to investigate applicants on the Internet in any serious way — except, perhaps, when filling very high-level positions. Employers could even open themselves up to litigation by doing so, because candidates might contend that they were rejected for a job for a reason like religion that was revealed on a social network, he said. He also noted that such searches are costly. Most employers contract background checks to other companies, he said, and these usually focus on things like whether a résume is accurate, Aitken said. For certain positions, employers may also perform criminal and credit checks, he said. Employers must obtain your permission to check your credit, but turning them down doesn’t bode well for your application, Maltby said. And if the employer rejects you for the job, offering some credible reason, he said, who’s to say it wasn’t actually because of the credit report? That’s a strong argument for checking your credit report for mistakes, and developing a good explanation if your credit score is genuinely poor (as it may well be if you’ve been out of work for a while). Blind candidates from Delhi have the facility to use computer or a typewriter for writing answers; 18. Visually-challenged candidate's fight for IAS gets Congress support Special Correspondent Had secured third rank in Civil Services Examination in 2006 but got no posting NEW DELHI: Some Delhi Congress leaders have now taken up the fight on behalf of Rajesh Kumar Singh, a visually-impaired candidate who had appeared for the Civil Services Examination in 2006 and was ranked third but is yet to be allocated an IAS or any other service. What appears to have spurred the Congress leaders into action is that another such candidate, Ravi Prakash Gupta, who finished sixth in the exam was on September 15 this year appointed to IAS by the Central Department of Personnel and Training on a direction from the Supreme Court. But Rajesh Kumar Singh, who had also intervened in the same case in February 2009, was not considered for appointment to any cadre. In their letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Naresh Kumar and DPCC spokesperson Jitender Kumar Kochhar have demanded that the Government not only appoint Singh to the IAS but also take action against senior DoPT officials because of whose actions he and other physically-challenged candidates were not able to secure a place in the service. In his letter, Dr. Kumar has accused a senior DoPT official of “still indulging in misinterpretations'' of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995, regarding 3 per cent reservation in the Civil Services for the disabled and “distorting the High Court and Supreme Court judgments, prejudicially affecting the Act passed by Parliament and the statutory and Constitutional rights of the disabled''. It has been pointed out that the technical consideration of DoPT -- the argument that identification of IAS as suitable for the disabled was done in 2005 -- has been rejected by both the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court. Even after the Supreme Court's judgment dated July 7, 2010, had stated that he had a much better claim than R. P. Gupta, the DoPT has been delaying his appointment, Dr. Kumar said, adding that “the whole thing has resulted in grave miscarriage of justice”. Mr. Kochhar said “there is an urgent need to assess and act against criminal liability” of the senior official and others. He has urged the Prime Minister to order a comprehensive probe by the Central Vigilance Commission. My job is just writing /presenting what I believe in. then there is a whole team who photocopy, make sets, courier and do lots of administration work. there are many who help get me appointments and ensure that I reach in time. they carry the technology and are a great backup. also lots of organisations endorse my work without question which strengthens my voice. all in all its the work of a lot of people and it starts with one complainant who forces me to act. Hi, For some days, I have started facing a problem with MS Excel 2003. When ever I switch on to edit mode(F2) and try to read character by character in any cell, jaws just says blank , blankinstead of reading the characters. Why does this happen? The number of options for safeguarding your data via backups is daunting -- and that’s the trouble. Just look at the backup utility market today, and you’ll see programs that perform full system backups, image backups, individual document backups, and application-specific backups. Which type is best for you? To answer that question, you need to know the pros and cons of each backup type. Read on to find out. ** Non-proprietary backups Most backup programs available today will stuff your data into a proprietary backup format, requiring you to have and use the same program to restore your data that you used to back it up. That, of course, is not always convenient, and it constitutes another step in a data restoration procedure that you’ll have to remember in order to be able to successfully retrieve your data. That’s why, for many, there’s real value in a program that simply creates a duplicate copy of your files on another drive. With such a backup, you can simply access the duplicate copies with Windows Explorer or another file manager and restore them as easily as you can copy files. There are a few routes that you can take to get duplicate copies of your files made. One, of course, is just to manually copy your most valuable files using a file manager. That approach, while free, only works if you remember to perform the task regularly. A better option for most is to use a backup program such as Second Copy (http://www.centered.com) that automatically backs up your data in a non-proprietary format. Second Copy gives you all the convenience of a backup program -- with features such as scheduling and automation -- but won’t make you feel as though your backups are in some inaccessible format. Another, similar option is to use a file synchronisation tool, which will also make a non-proprietary copy of your files in a location of your choice. In addition, a file synchronisation application will ensure that changes made to one or both of the folders that contain your files stay in sync. Good tools for synchronisation include Super Flexible File Synchroniser (http://www.superflexible.com) and Microsoft’s SyncToy (http://bit.ly/bI3i96), which is free to registered Windows users. The primary downside of creating duplicate copy backups is storage space. You’ll need twice the storage space required for your main files, since no compression whatsoever will be used in the creation of the backups. Another potential disadvantage is that you may not be able to use the duplicate copy method to do a full system restoration because the hidden files and boot up files required to successfully start an operating system may not be part of the backup. ** Image backups Image backups are popular with those who want their entire systems backed up in a way that allows them to restore everything -- operating system, configured applications, and files -- in the event of a system meltdown. With image backups, you typically have to create and use a “restore disk” in order to access the backup file once it is created. That backup file is typically stored on an external drive or a location that is separate from the main system disk to which you want to restore your original files. Once you boot from the system restore disk, which is a self-created CD or DVD, you can access the backup file and restore your computer to the exact state it was in before you experienced some type of data catastrophe. Well-regarded system imaging tools include Acronis True Image Home (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing), Symantec Ghost (http://bit.ly/9Uliee), and Microsoft’s imaging utility built in to Windows 7. Restoring an entire system from an image backup requires that you restore to the same computer or one with identical hardware. Otherwise, the operating system may not boot. Image backups are therefore a poor option for those interested primarily in backing up critical files in order to transfer them to a new computer. ** Complete system backups Complete system backups, like image backups, copy everything on your computer but typically make it easier than image backup software to selectively restore particular files or folders.
