Guess what, recently I've turned to 18 and with full joy i went to the
polling booth at Shahpura in bhopal-M.P But my vote was given by
somebody else from the Polling booth members themself! Even I knew how
to give my sign but they simply took my finger prints!
I've raised the issue through the very famous news paper dainik
Bhaskar but no result has come out. But i'm not that person who sits
quietly. now I'm planning to go for RTI. I'll write an application to
the name of Election comissioner. I'll ask them to return my vote as

Subject: [AI] Where is my right to vote?

 Dear Friends,

We are all aware that politics plays major role in our country to
 highlight
or solve the issues of vulnerable communities, but in my knowledge, I did
not hear from any political party those who are talking about the issues
 of
people with disabilities because they don't feel that disability
 community
should be vote bank for them, perhaps they don't know about our strength
 in
the society. I feel that this is another reason of our exclusion because
till now disability is not an issue for GOVT.
But my concern is that is there any political party who wants inclusion
 of
people with disabilities to empower them to understand the importance of
 their one vote?
Yesterday, I went to the poling booth to use my voting right to my
 favorite
leader, but when I reached and asked them to give me escort but they said
that we don't know about escort, however I managed and gave my slip to
officer and reached to voting machine, but there was no Braille sticker so

 I
faced difficulty to identify the button but I asked my relative and gave
 my
vote, after voting, I asked concern person that you are not following
instructions of supreme court then he said thatnobody gave us any kind
 of
instruction. After this incident, I called media and highlighted this
issues, and I will definetly file complaint to state election commission
because they did not follow the supreme court order in 10 districts of
 Madhya Pradesh.
Friends, It is a very serious issue if I will not come out from my house
 to
use my vote then nobody will talk about your issues, therefore disability
community is facing this problem. Now we should wake up and we should use
our vote to show our strength to the political parties otherwise nobody
 will
 talk about our issues.

 Thank you

 Regards

 Sonu

Dear Friends.

Hope you all are doing well.
One of my blind friend is facing a problem, which I am putting before
you for your suggestion.

He has an account in bank, using thumb impression he is operating the
account.

As such he is using thumb impression, cheque book is not provided to him.
The same fellow has to surrender a policy of LIC.

Now!
LIC needs a canceled cheque book for doing NEFT in his account.
Branch can not give cheque book. He can not open an account with
signature because it may surely create problem in withdrawal of cash.

Waiting for your suggestion, how to surrender the policy?

Dear ve prakash sir,
I am using Google input tool for typing hindi. For typing malayalam
using Google input tool there is an easy technique I just need to type
the Malayalam word in English alphabet. I think this is what you mean
by typing phonetically. Though I have installed Google input tool
for hindi I need to type letter by letter. That means each key of the
keyboard stands for a Hindi letter and need to type it exactly. It
takes a lot of time and you need to remember which key represents
which letter.
Sir, it would be good if you could suggest me a software that allows
me to type Hindi phonetically. I don't understand what is the use of
Lekha?
Thank you,

Hi, friends. I have a quite similar requirement.
However, I would prefer my Hindi to Hindi/English dictionary to
fulfill the following conditions.
The dictionary should be free or please provide its crack and should
have a downloadable version for offline use.
The dictionary should be multi-functional i.e. it should provide
synonyms, antonyms and stuff like that.
It would be better if they provide possible spellinkg mistakes if
there is an error in finding the desired search.
Most importantly, it should be accessible with JAWS 14.o.
Note: I am quite flunet in Hindi but would like to know meanings of
higher vocabulary as I come accross it.
I would highly appreciate any assistance from your side.

[AI] Fwd: GROUND REPORT : meeting of visually impaired women in Tamil Nadu

This shocking finding is very handy for NGOs working in the field to
take up the issues with government and political parties in the State.

'A study made by Nandini Voice (2009) in Chennai reports that in spite
of getting some sort of qualification and skill, most visually
impaired women from poorer households do not get any jobs and are
desperately seeking one. The government provides jobs in schools in
teaching position, but the number of candidates far outweighs the job
vacancies. Many have been waiting for several years hoping to get a
job in government schools. At present, it is reported that more than
600 visually impaired women, who are qualified in teaching, are
waiting for teaching jobs. They also report that there is a gender
bias towards taking men with disabilities rather than women'. (Cited
in (Nilika Mehrotra's 'Gender Disability and State Policy 2013, p
257).
Here is a breif report retrieved from the website.
http://www.groundreportindia.com/2010/03/meeting-of-visually-impaired-women.html
meeting of visually impaired women
Tamilnadu, India

30 visually impaired women from different economic background, age
group and educational level from all over Tamil Nadu participated in
the round table discussion. The discussion was organised by Nandini
Voice For The Deprived.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DISCUSSIONS

Highlights of the views expressed by the visually impaired women on
different problems and their aspirations are given below.

Pension scheme of the government :

Ms. Asha Mary of Chennai and Ms. Indirani of Dindigul said that they
were not getting any pension from the government, inspite of the fact
that they have applied more than three years back.

30% of the visually impaired women who participated in the discussions
confirmed that they were yet to get the pension from the Government .

This was viewed as a serious lapse on the part of the government that
it could not ensure that the pension would be extended to all the
visually impaired women in the state.

All the participants confirmed that the pension is sent only once in
three or four months and for some months the pension is not sent at
all.

The officials often give the explanation that funds have not been
provided for a particular area . The participants wondered as to how
the fund could be allotted for one area and not for another area under
the same scheme.

Further, it was said that the post men often take upto Rs.20 for
themselves, while disbursing the pension money order.

Unemployment scenario:

Several visually impaired women pointed out that they have not got
single interview call even after fifteen years of registration with
employment exchange.

In one case, job was offered to a visually impaired woman in a ration
shop where she has to measure the commodity supplied which she cannot
do by herself since she has no vision. When she expressed her
inability to take up this job, she was unofficially advised to take up
the help of a person with vision and share her income with the person
!

Ms. Mini said that the government is giving jobs mostly only for
visually impaired B.Ed. graduates as school teachers and in the case
of less qualified or qualified in some other fields, the government’s
support to provide them jobs is at negligible level for all practical
purposes.

The private sector rarely give jobs to visually impaired women. Even
if they do so in some very few cases, visually impaired women are
often paid less salary for the similar job done by persons with
vision.

It was said that the Government does not monitor such conditions at
all and the unemployment scenario amongst the visually impaired women
is extremely severe and with no indication that the conditions would
improve in the immediate future. The government’s schemes in this
regard is conspicuous by its absence.

Self employment pursuits :

To keep themselves above poverty conditions, visually impaired women
desperately try to self employ themselves. They face problems such as
in skill acquisition, finding investment money and marketing the
products.

Ms. G. Vanitha said that it has become extremely difficult to get
loans from the banks though the government talks about liberal loan
assistance programme for the disabled persons. Getting loans depends
on the whims and fancies of the bank manager who often do not even
care to discuss the details. It was said that there is great need to
sensitise the bank staff, so that the government’s policies can be
implemented in letter and spirit.

Even in the case of self help group schemes, the visually impaired
women are driven from pillar to post and several whimsical conditions
are put and in one

Hey! Sonu... the very same has happened with me!
I'll ask them to return my vote as
soon as possible otherwise I'll again raise this same issue to whole
india through news media.

Yesterday, I went to the poling booth to use my voting right to my
 favorite
leader, but when I reached and asked them to give me escort but they said
that we don't know about escort, however I managed and gave my slip to
officer and reached to voting machine, but there was no Braille sticker
so

 I
faced difficulty to identify the button but I asked my relative and gave
 my
vote, after voting, I asked concern person that you are not following
instructions of supreme court then he said thatnobody gave us any kind
 of
instruction.

 Thank you

 Regards

 Sonu

[AI] Some Quairy regarding downgrading M.S. Office

2013-11-28 Thread Rohiet A. Patil
Dear all,
I am writing this mail on behalf of one of my friend. Currently she is using
office 2007 at her work place. But because of some technical issues, She wants
to downgrade to office 2003.
But the problem is, she has configure her official mail ID to MS outlook 2007
and saved lots of mails in diferent folders. Now, the question is, if she
downgrade office, will she get all her mails back in outlook 2003? If not, then
what may be the solution for the problem?
I would also like to bring to your notice the problem because of which she want
to downgrade. She is using jaws 14.0.6005 lisence copy with windows XP OS. In
excell 2007, when she press f2 to edit a cell and navigate with arrow keys,
jaws anounces only blank blank and not the content of the cell. Where as, in
office 2003 it is working perfectly. She did all possible settings recommended
by freedomscientific but still it is not working.
So if possible please tri to provide any solution about this problem also so
that she could continue her work on office 7.
Sorry for such a long mail.
Anticipating your response at the earlyest.

[AI] Accessible software for Huawei dongle

2013-11-28 Thread Ashik
Dear Friends,

In the past, there was a discussion on the accessibility of software working in
the dongles to access the internet. At that time I said that I was using a
software which is accessible with JAWS as well NVDA. If someone instals that
software in his computer, the dongle becomes accessible, irrespective of
whatever in-built software it has. If someone is interested, he or she can
contact me personally on my cell phone:

9428855867.

I can answer and hang-up calls and receive messages. I think one can also send
messages easily. This is enough.

I don't provide the link in this mail because, if there are so many downloads,
my dropbox links will be suspended. So, please contact me personally.

remember that IBPS has made a new change in scribe declaration form,
that is that scribe you are going to use he/she must not be a
candidate for the same examination, and the scribe has not given the
same exam as a scribe before, means a scribe can be used at once only
in a particular examination of IBPS..

using Google input tool there is an easy technique I just need to type
the Malayalam word in English alphabet. I think this is what you mean
by typing phonetically. Though I have installed Google input tool
for hindi I need to type letter by letter. That means each key of the
keyboard stands for a Hindi letter and need to type it exactly. It
takes a lot of time and you need to remember which key represents
which letter.
Sir, it would be good if you could suggest me a software that allows
me to type Hindi phonetically. I don't understand what is the use of
Lekha?
Thank you,
Ratheesh

I do not know if lekha supports it or not. But through NVDA it is
accessible.

Subject: [AI] help needed regarding hindi english online dictionary

Hi,
I am a keralite and would like to learn hindi. Whenever I listen to
hindi news or films I come across a lot of new words. Unfortunately
there is no one good in Hindi at my home. When I searched for online
hindi dictionaries I came across
shabdkosh.com
I found it useful, but to find meaning in this site you need to type
the hindi word without spelling mistakes. I have hindi typing software
installed on my PC and know a little to type, but as a new learner of
hindi it is difficult for me to type hindi words without mistakes.

I would be happy if anyone could tell me a site that ignore spelling
mistakes and suggests the most similar word.
Thank you,
Ratheesh

Re: [AI] What are scribe guidelines for IBPS clerical exam?

2013-11-28 Thread Rahul Bhatia
yes the scribe that you are going to use he/she must not applied him /
her self as a candidate, and next one he/she has not given the
clerical3 exam as a scribe means a scribe can give only a single exam
for a single candidate... it is cleared written on the scribe
declaration form.
In view of the fact that multiple appearance / attendance in the
examination are not permitted, the candidate undertakes that he/she
has not appeared /
attended the examination (CWE-Clerks-III) more than once and that the
scribe arranged by him/her is not a candidate for the examination
(CWE-Clerks-III).
If violation of the above is detected at any stage of the process,
candidature for CWE of both the candidate and the scribe will be
cancelled
