Re: [AI] Regarding PMSBY and PMJJBY.
Hi, all the banks are offering this project, as this is under Prime Minister and not of any individual bank. Even the co-operative banks have to promote these scheme. Both of the schemes offer insurance. One is a life insurance which also covers natural death and the other is an accidental insurance which covers any kind of accidental death. The sum insured in both the plans is for 2 lakhs. If you have a joint account, the second account holder can be the nominy, but it cannot be towards eachother for the same account. [AI] Attention bankers- regarding EMI versus loan tenure reduction
Dear Learned bankers, After few months of delay my bank, Bank of Baroda has finally reduced home loan interest rate to 10.00 from 10.25%. However, it is hardly good news as the bank has told me that the tenure of the home loan will be reduced and not the due EMI. Therefore, I feel no real respite in the immediate time as “In the long run, we are all dead.” ) SO any banker on the list can please let me know that if it is the legitimate thing BoB doing, or they should ideally give customer options to choose from to either to reduce EMIs or the tenure of the loan. In case if you think that BoB is wrong, please let know how I can take up the matter with them. Thanking you in advance... Regards Ekinath -- *** I am only one, but I am one. [AI] Increasing banking web page accessibility woes
Hello Members, I feel helpless when I see all the banks revamping their sites for the convenience of their sighted customers and do not pay attention to screen reader accessibility standards. I was hitherto used to praise ICICI Bank’s accessibility but today after they have revamped their site could not do anything, but only log in. I took customer executive help but could not ‘control+find” any word on the page that he was referring to. I am sure that new web technologies are not being met by the screen readers or they not accessible from the beginning. As I said earlier, it seems as if new world of technology is becoming more and more inaccessible. Alas, a hope from any expert, do please help. NVDA also was of no help. Regards -- *** I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something I can do. If all information is correctly keyed in, a list of trains available would be shown in a table. Choose the train and class. The availability of seats shall display. Finally, if everything is choosen appropriately, the 'book ticket' button is there. Press enter on it. Then comes the payment information. You can choose to pay through debit card, credit card or net banking etc. Finally the payment gateway should open. Here one has to write the payment information like the card number. Date of Expiry of card, CVV etc. Press submit after checking all the information is correctly filled. Then comes the verification page. Re: [AI] Union bank conducted special training program for blind staff
Dear Tilak, I am replying on your Finacle usage by non banker question. Finacle is a core banking solution and only authorized users of that particular bank. I mean staffs with assigned roles are given work class access. As in your case as a TATA company employee only you can access your internal program but not any outsider. In India 7-8 public sector banks and few private banks are using Finacle CBS. Friends, this special training program (pilot batch) of Union Bank was truly unique as it was conceptualized and implemented by bank’s internal resources and staff training facilities. We are hoping many new accessible initiatives for benefit of visually impaired staff will be rolled out in the near future as assured by bank’s top executives during training. Hope employees on this list working in banks take inspiration from your initiative and do similar things in their banks too. Very well done and by the way what is finacle? Subject: [AI] Union bank conducted special training program for blind staff Dear Friends, Sharing with the list, information regard to recent special training program that was conducted by the Union Bank of India for its visually impaired staff members at the staff training center, Gurgaon. It was a 6 days well designed training plan by the bank. The training program primarily focused on possible job roles and executing those job roles by accessing various bank packages and Finacle with jaws. I am indeed gratified to state here that I am part of this initiative of the bank since September 2013 with my involvement with bank’s training college presentation on “ensuring inclusive classroom training for pwd”. Our bank has implemented and leveraged many of the accessibility provisions in the last 1 year e.g. daisy reading material for trainees, publishing HTML and accessible pdf manual on using jaws with finacle. With Regard to this special training program, I along with Prashant Naik was involved in conceptualizing, designing program, preparing manuals, pre training arrangements, etc. bank published reading material with newer edition of Finacle with jaws manual and other manuals on HRMS, email client with jaws, etc. prepared by Jerin Jose and Yogesh Taneja. Overall this pilot training is a great success as bank management got good pragmatic understanding on needs and possibilities for persons with visual impairment. Many further plans have been declared by bank on such training and accessibility improvements. We are ready to embark on this journey of empowering visually impaired bank employees, and after completion of this training program we are very confident that there are endless possibilities for visually impaired friends in banking sector.
