Re: [AI] Concurrence for availing facilities from other branches of the same bank? -HDFC

2016-05-17 Thread Amar Jain
Hi Pranav,

The online process is not helpful in case of loan closure because you
need to make the D.D. there and then when the closing day's amount is
calculated by the staff.

Unlike SBI HDFC does not allow one to give request online and pick it
up from any branch. They dispatch from the centralised processing
unit.

Hi Amar,

The last time I checked, you could make a demand draft online. Try that the next

Go to the setting centre of Jaws, and arrow down to the option speak single
digits, and there in, choose the option which says number process controlled by
the synthesizer. As per the dates, just arrow down to the option which says if
number contains dashes and change its value to the other option. NO idea to
your third query!

Yes Sir, there are no clear provisions for scribe, when I asked for
the first time, they said that the scribe will be selected by me from
two or three students provided by center superintendent. Mr. Turab has
faced some problem regarding scribe by the center, saying that any
graduate shall not be allowed.
In CA, there is a clear provision that a scribe shall not be in any
case be a graduate, CA, CS, ICWA registered student. Lets put forward
to the institute to make clear provisions about the eligibility of
scribe not waiting till the last moment.

As both of them comes with different platforms Mac OS X and Dell with
Windows, it depends on your usage. If you are a long time Windows user,
there would be some learning curve. Plus, there may be accessibility
support limitation for some common tools like Adobe PDF etc.,

2016-05-17 Thread Srinivasu Chakravarthula
Dear Amar,
I agree in spite CBS etc., in place, we still face this sort of challenges.
There must be something we need to do something about it. With CBS enabled,
today we do not really need to hold account at the location we live. What
if I have my account in Bangalore and I changed my job to Hyderabad (which
happened last year), I haven't opened a new account. If I use thumb
impression, do I need to stop banking in other city? As I said on Facebook,
as they feel it's a safety issue for thumb impression user, it's actually
safety issue for others too including those who sign.

If they really need more authentication, they can send a OTP to our
registered mobile number or something like that.

Thanks,
Vasu

[AI] Concurrence for availing facilities from other branches of the same bank? -HDFC

2016-05-17 Thread Amar Jain
Bankers,

This is a classic case of designing operational procedures which cause
further delay which is over and above the normal delay caused due to
blindness and thumb impression in availing banking facilities.

I had to make a demand draft from another branch of the HDFC, and they
delayed this process by telling me that we don't know the process
because of thumb impression, and after an hour when I asked them to
give me in writing, they issued me the D.D.

When I raised this concerned to the MD Desk, they replied by saying:

"We wish to inform that in case of thumb impression as signature, the
Bank has to be extra cautious and to safeguard customer's interest,
the transaction is routed through the home branch only. However, to
avoid any inconvenience to you, the Demand draft was issued to you
from the Chembur branch after taking necessary concurrence. Hence, the
delay."

My questions:

1. When CBS shows you the photo, thumb impression in signature column,
customer is present with the ID proof and other documents, what is
this concurrence needed for?
2. I am sure there is nobody even in the home branch who would be
authorised to give such an approval.
3. Given that the RBI and IBA circulars are applicable to the entire
bank on a larger level, how do you tackle this problem?

My further constraint is that they ultimately did not deny me what I
asked for. But this has to be sorted on a larger level, with all
banks. I have copied RBI Governor Desk, and they would ideally either
forward this to Consumer Education Department (which is irrelevant) or
to IBA which might not take any action on this type of process.

Any constructive views are welcome.

Regards

Dear Harish

The kind of volley of thorns thrown at me the moment I dared open my mouth
about talking ATM India and my survey yielding no talking ATM in main areas of
Nagpur, left me in a semi comatose state.

I unconditionally accept that all ATMs mentioned on the site are fully talking
and withdraw all my observations with more than sincere apologies.

Long live talking ATMs, long live banks and longer still my blind brethren!

Dear Rajesh

I have been following this thread closely and at point, I did not find any
post which suggested they would not drop wrong labeling as Accessible Atm.
Nevertheless, I called folks at TalkingATM and was told, they did not
recieve any specific ATM which was wrongly labeled.

Positive critisim is welcome however sharp generalisation would be
demotivating for sure.

We should be aware of it when interacting in public space.
User rating, feedback is now / is being introduced. This should give users
better perspective and again it is our responsibility to give the feedback
for it work effectively.

 Hi
To my understanding, the data sourced from Banks, which is labeled as
fully accessible by them. It is not at all posible this portal to
physically verify the data. It is here that the role of the community
 begins.
Firstly we need to use the service to its fullest and provide the
 feedback

on any of the data is not correct. When this data is brought to the
 notice

of the Bank officials, they shall of course correct the error, more
importantly they will be more careful and have better understanding why
they labeled it as accessible in the first place.
There would definately some learning phase and such feedback is a step
 in

the right direction however the feedback should be specific and not
 general in this case.
