Subject: [AI] Delhi University-examination policy for people with
disabilities

Dear all,

I am shocked and pained to learn that DU is not allowing it's blind
candidates to use computer and screen reader for giving the written
examination in line with the 2018 / 2013 guidelines (subject to the ongoing
dispute's outcome). And this is coming officially from the authorities. What
is the examination policy of DU for all it's students be it regular or be it
distance learning mode students?

How active is the equal opportunity cell of DU? What steps have been taken
by the EOC to ensure that the university policies are in line with the
guidelines issued by MSJE and as forwarded by UGC for compliance? If anyone
has any circular issued by the controller of examination of DU or any other
policy on examination for persons with disabilities for DU students, then
please email me on amarj...@amarjain.com .

Any student who is doing law from the DU itself? Not looking for other
private universities / colleges.

Regards,

Amar Jain

Re: [AI] Issue with spell checker on Microsoft Word

2019-05-10 Thread shahid.seven
Though I often don't use Word, I just checked and verified that spell check
dialog works with out any accessibility with the latest version of Jaws
including the shortcuts.
I hold an individual subscription which is Microsoft Word Subscription Version
16.0.11328.20230 and verified that it is up to date.

Re: [AI] Issue with spell checker on Microsoft Word

2019-05-10 Thread Mahesh S. Panicker
Hi Amar,
Do you have the latest updates installed for Office? Even I am able to
use some of the shortcuts, but they don't always work, and you have to
tab around the editer a bit before they would work. By the way, are
able to work with the traditional spell check on word or is it the new
editer?
Best,

Re: [AI] Delhi University-examination policy for people with disabilities

2019-05-10 Thread Sanchit Katiyar
Hi,

At least, I am not aware of any incident in recent days that anyone is
being denied from writing their exams on Computer in University of
Delhi. In fact, people are allowed to write their exams on computer
and many in the past have done so and many are writing their exams on
computer these days as well.

As far as I know, there are no fresh instructuions to colleges
stopping students from writing the exams on computer. Students are
otherwise allowed to write their exams on PC.

[AI] Delhi University-examination policy for people with disabilities

2019-05-10 Thread Amar Jain

Not looking for other
private universities / colleges.

Regards,

Amar Jain

Re: [AI] Issue with spell checker on Microsoft Word

2019-05-10 Thread Amar Jain
This is surprising. I am running Jaws 2019 latest April update, and finding
no issues with Office 365 whatsoever including the spell checker. I am able
to use the same shortcut keys. I am running Windows 10 latest update on
Surface Pro 6 with Office 365 home annual subscription.

Regards,
Amar Jain

Thanks a lot Zujar. The Jaws shortcuts are of some help, but I just hate
what Microsoft has done! Do you if there are any programs like classic start
menu for Office that can fix this issue. ?
