[AI] Using Whatsapp?

2022-05-08 Thread Satguru Rathi
Are you someone who uses Whatsapp frequently and has to send messages to
unknown numbers often? Are you frustrated for saving them first in your
contact list knowing that you may not even have to contact them again?
Ever wonder if there could be a solution for this and you may not have
to save the number ever again but still can send them messages? Then
this post is for you. I'm here to bring to your attention a tiny app
called Click to Chat! Yes, you heard it right! This tiny app can allow
you to send Whatsapp messages without saving the number thereby,
allowing you to keep your contact list clean. Please note, the app only
allows you to search their numbers in Whatsapp and your messages will
still be sent from the Whatsapp only giving you the same privacy and app
doesn't store any data it only functions as a link between you and Whatsapp.

Playstore description:
Did you know you can open a chat in WhatsApp with any number without
saving first into contacts by opening in your browser the link
'wa.me/123456789' (using the prefix+number desired)?

Source: https://faq.whatsapp.com/en/android/2630/
Originally that link was longer and more difficult to remember, so I
made this tiny app to help in the process.
Since then I have added multiple functionalities (enter message, share
link, list of country codes, create shortcut, save recent and pinned,
open recent calls via add-on, and a few more) but always with these
three principles:
1) Make the smaller app possible. This means no extra unrelated content,
no extra libraries and no useless things. Currently its size is around
100KB=0.1MB. Less than a standard picture!
2) Use as few permissions as possible. Only the create_shortcut
permission is used, nothing else! (no calls, no storage, no internet).
3) No ads. I hate ads. I will never add ads, adware, spyware, user
tracking or other nasty stuff.
If you want a small tool to help you open numbers in WhatsApp, try it.
If you prefer an app that sends your data to Google, there are clones
out there.

Playstore link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trianguloy.openInWhatsapp=en_IN=US

Enjoy!

Satguru.

Re: [AI] Counsellor

2022-05-08 Thread Vaibhav Saraf
Hi Apurwa,

I had no plans to reply to this post as others have better expertise and
experience over the matter. But I thought I should reply to a point.

I would encourage you to go to a counsellor as you had already in mind for
positivity.

But in my view please don't limit him to a career advise given by some
counsellor who might have a narrow view himself/herself. For instance a
counsellor might probably give you 4-5 fields to stay in as other VI are
comfortable there, but you never know if any is a good fit or choice for
him. Today almost all the fields except defense are accessible for the
blind and VI in some way or the other.

Look at this list itself:
I am an IT Consultant and developer.
Some are managers in different fields.
Some are in different consulting positions.
Various bank positions.
Teachers.
Assistive tech trainers.
Human Resources.
Digital Marketing.
Social entrepreneurship.

That covers a whole good type of jobs and I am not covering everything yet.

Apart from that I am a budding archer too and I compete alongside fully
sighted archers in competitions and train with them. A South Korean archer
who has 2 Olympics gold medals under his belt is VI too.

There is almost no limit to what you can opt for a career, and I believe
most counsellors might not be able to tell you that if you ask this
particular question.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

is that group not for the academicians/researchers working in
different arenas other than science?
say in India, the blind academicians who are working in the scientific

is the mentioned group not for us?

Subject: [AI] Ok Google not working on Moto g5g

Hello all

OK Google is not working on my moto g5g mobile after updating to Android 11
from Android 10. I have tried out all the options including resetting the voice
settings, but updating all Google, restarting the phone several times. OK
Google gets activated if I press the mic icon on Google but it does not respond
to hands free calling. I have tried writing to Google as well but not getting
any response from them. I have been facing this issue for the past 6. While
reading through different blocks I came to know that this is a problem being
faced by stock Android users. Can anyone please guide in the matter. Thanks in
advance.
