[AI] International Day of Sign Languages 2023 celebration at Union Bank of India

It is a well-established fact that continuous efforts to promote inclusion
and accessibility play a crucial role. Union Bank of India, is committed to
this cause and consistently undertakes initiatives to raise awareness on
various levels.

Today, the bank celebrated the International Day of Sign Languages 2023 by
sharing a special social media post. The goal was to highlight the
significance of sign languages as a vital means of accessible communication
for the Deaf community.

Furthermore, yesterday on the eve of this important disability day, Union
Bank of India launched two significant initiatives.

1.   Published a concise booklet titled "Hands in Harmony," which
showcases the inspiring success stories of Deaf employees and their
contributions at the workplace.

2.   Additionally, Bank organized an enlightening webinar titled
"Accessibility Awareness." This event featured two distinguished expert
speakers who engaged in a conversational dialogue with a sign language
interpreter. The webinar covered a wide range of topics, including the
challenges faced by the Deaf community, the banking services tailored to
their needs, insights into sign language, available technical solutions,
and more.

I'm delighted to mention that as part of the Union Access project, both
myself and Rahul Gambhir collaborated closely with the bank's Digital
Learning Academy in spearheading these awareness initiatives. This
experience has provided us with valuable insights into the Deaf community
and reinforced our commitment to fostering a more inclusive environment.

[AI] Need help regarding Virtual Ribbon Menu not working on MS 365 with Jaws

Hi listers,
On Microsoft Word, I recently noticed that Jaws uis not reading menu
options when the Virtual Ribbon option is turned. It just says upper
ribbon, and if down arrow is pressed, then lower ribbon. Doesn't
identify the option like file or insert or view, or the submenus in
there. It just says 'Blank'. If I turn the Virtual Ribbon option off,
then it is reading properly. Virtual ribbon makes things easier as one
is used to the interface. What can I do to make it work?
Jaws 2023, Windows 10 and latest Microsoft 365.

Reading mode as well as simplified /immersive mode is not  available
for every article, furthermore, sometimes I've experienced that some
portion of the text is missing in the aforementioned mode. Though for
most of the websites/articles, it is the best alternative.

College, as completed its 20 years of services on 17th September, 2023. On
reaching this important milestone, we have organized a series of 20 Tech
Roshni sessions on different topics for persons with disabilities.

We are happy to announce our 2nd online workshop on the theme
“*Accessible* *Entertainment
with NobaFlix*” for persons with blindness and low vision on 30th
September, 2023. This Workshop is supported by the *Dhun Pestonji Parakh
Discretionary Trust*.

*NobaFlix *is a leading OTT platform that is specifically designed to cater
to the needs of differently-abled people, particularly those with Persons
with Blindness. The platform offers audio-described versions of popular TV
shows, movies, and other forms of content, providing a unique and inclusive
entertainment experience for all users.

In the upcoming workshop, we will know more about *NobaFlix *OTT
applications with Android.

*Eligibility: *Participants should have good knowledge of Android phone
gestures with talk back and touch typing.
