Re: [AI] Fw: Feedback on TalkBack

2017-01-20 Thread Aakash Bansal
Hello everyone,

I am writing this mail just to clarify. I hope this mail will end the
pointless debate running since a long time.

I, Akashdeep Bansal (My official neme) is a PhD student at IIT Delhi
working in field of Assistive Technologies. We started a project named as
"Reading Accessibility for Visually Impaired" around six month earlier
under the supervision of Prof. M Balakrishnan. Under this project, a group
of students worked on enhancing table accessibility in a EPUB3 document on
Android platform. After developing this app, which we will be lauching by
first week of February, we realised that it will be great if we can
implement this feature in TalkBack itself. This will help us in getting
table accessibility features on all platforms. Otherwise, we will requires
to develop seperate app for different tasks, which seems pointless. With
the same idea, we approached google and started implementing same features
in TalkBack code. Still its google's freedom that they want to incoperate
our contribution or not on the basis of our code's performance. It's not a
official project or partnership between us,

In December, some more students have joined our group. So, we was looking
for a problem statement for them. That's why i wrote that mail I never
thought that mentioning "collaboration with google" will lead to such a
confusion. I apologies for the same.

I hope this will clarify all the doubts. Now i would like to request you
all to end the pointless debate. If you feel it is a spam mail, please
ignore but please don't continue with the pointless debate. Those who are
interested in contributing with us, please visit following link for more
detail http://www.cse.iitd.ernet.in/~akashdeep/

I hope now everyone will create a comfortable environment for all and will
help us in developing solutions for inclusive STEM education in India.

Thanks and Regards
Aakash Bansal

[AI] Reading PDF document

2016-08-21 Thread Aakash Bansal
Dear all

Whenever i use to open a pdf file having large number of pages, it takes a
lot of time to convert into readable format. I am using NVDA screen reader.
Is there any solution by which i can do it fast or save the readable format
for next time?

Hi,

MathType works fine with NVDA but you have to use LaTeX for writing, which
is very easy to learn. Can we have a conversation on phone #8860848358.

Re: [AI] learning maths and science

2016-02-28 Thread Aakash Bansal
Hi,

At present available tools for studying science and math contains-
1. MathType and MathPlayer from design science works with NVDA but doesn't
have any OCR for identifying Scientific content.
2. Infty Reader OCR and ChattyInfty from Science Accessibility Net. But
these are very costly and contain there own TTS.

As far as the institutes are concerned, Kartik Sawhney, Paras Jain and
Prityush are doing there studies from normal sighted institutions.

Re: [AI] thank you akash i have successfully deleted mails with your directions:

2016-02-10 Thread Aakash Bansal
Hi,

You are most welcome.

Earlier i was also using Basic HTML view only but in that NVDA doesn't read
out the suggestions during compose mail for the contact. This is easily
accessible in standard view with Firefox. Let me tell you about my issue
step by step-

1.Go to compose mail and press enter.
2. Now in To start typing the email address.
3. Now if you scroll down using arrow keys then NVDA will not read out the
suggestion for email address from your contact list.
4.. This was a very big issue for me. Then i switch to standard view.

To know more about the accessibility of Gmail standard view with screen
reader. you can visit https://support.google.com/mail/answer/90559?hl=en

Re: [AI] is there any methode by which we can delet multiple e mails at a time?

2016-02-09 Thread Aakash Bansal
Hi Shankar,

You can delete multiple emails by selecting them using the check box. Let
me tell you step by step-

1. Open your gmail account in standar view.
2. Scroll through the emails using up and down arrow.
3. Press x to select the mail, whichever you want to delete while you are
on that mail.
4. while you are done with selection of all the mails then go to delete
button and press enter.
5. Now you will get the message that your messages has been moved to spam.

Try above steps and let me know if problem persists.

Hi Shraddha,

Yes, it is possible in Basic HTML view also, but there steps are little bit
different.
e.g. In Basic HTML you can't jump directly from one email to another by
single arrow key. and in basic HTML, for selecting a mail firstly you have
to go to check box of that email and then for selection you have to press
space bar.

If you need to contact me you can call me +91-8860848358.

Re: [AI] Retinal Pigmentosa and macular degeneration are same?

2016-01-31 Thread Aakash Bansal
Hi Ankish,

No, RP and MD are two different diseases.

In RP, a person will lost first night then peripheral and after it center
vision.
whereas in MD, a person will lost night then center and finally the
peripheral.

and a person may suffer from both RP and MD simultaneously, in that you
will observe mixed symptoms.
