[AI] Term insurance for VI

2018-06-22 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Hello All,

Many of my friends tried to avail term insurance from SBI life and LIC.
However, they denied on the ground of VI. I would like to know, has anyone
availed term insurance here on the list?
If any, what kind of challenges faced?
Which term insurance has availed?
Is the provider providing accidental cover?
Has anyone tried to talk to insurance authority like IRDA about the same?

Kind Regards,
Nitin

Re: [AI] Query regarding purchasing of 2 wheeler in the name of visually challenged person.

2016-06-29 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Hey Dinu,

There is no restriction on buying 2 wheeler. We can surely buy and you
no need to do anything as an extra care. However, beware from agents
if you're transferring the vehicle which you have already. Agents ask
lot of money for this which is not required at all. Just fill form
online and follow the process.

Kind Regards,
Nitin

Re: [AI] problem in navigating in facebook with JAWS

2016-06-26 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Dear Narendra,

If I guessed it correctly, you must be using normal facebook site that
is facebook.com. The problem with the site is the site gets refreshed
as you navigate and hence it difficult navigating sometimes. Try using
m.facebook.com which the site is meant for mobile. So, it's very
lighter and don't get refreshed as you navigate.
Hope this helps

Nitin

Actually, a small book better than being online always. Unfortunately, I
don't have a book for beginners. I'll send VBA book on the email which you

Dear Rajesh Sir,

The tutorials from tutorialspoint are intended for sighted people. However,
the site works well with Jaws too. I don't know how much time your student

Re: [AI] about accessability of softwares for taxation like Tax base and winman, and accounting softwares like tally

2016-01-19 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Hi Vedika,

I don't know recent development of Tally. However, there are Jaws scripts
for Tally 7 which also work with Tally 8 I heard. And for other software's
which you have mentioned those are based on Java, you can try Java access
bridge which enables accessibility in Java applications.

Kind Regards,
Nitin

w3schools is really a good resource. However, you need to choose a
programming language for development. till, you can start with HTML,
Javascript and CSS which are required for web development.

Re: [AI] Regarding HDFC credit card

2015-10-15 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Hello,

Though Amar and Tilak have good experiences with HDFC bank, I denied for an
account itself. I believe, it depends on the person who is dealing with
you. If the person has little understanding and ready to here you then only
something positive can happened. However, in bank, people don't want to
listen to you which is first thing and they don't want to be accountable
for there is a risk in it. They think, providing facilities like ATM,
credit card to the visually challenged person is a risk hence they simply
denied. I fully agree with Prashant that there should be a special page on
the bank's website mentioning all facilities of disable since circular
doesn't serve the purpose. I also think there should be a huge fine for the
person whose deny. Anyway, if you really wish to avail credit card of HDFC
bank then you have need to comunicate to higher authorities.

Kind Regards,

Nitin

Hey!

Sometimes some add-ons get installed if you click on any add while
browsing; and these add-ons cause to open different webpage than we were
trying to open. If this is the case then, you need to uninstall/ remove
these add-ons. But beware! you shouldn't remove the add-ons which Firefox /
some sites required.

Re: [AI] Joining excel files

2015-09-09 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Hello,

Open the workbook in which you want to merge all the files. Now, open one
of the files which you have. Go to the home ribbon and find cells sub menu.
beneath the cells sub menu, click on format. Now, find move or copy
sheet... A dialog appears. The focus remains on before sheet combo box;
choose desire option. After that press shift + tab "to book" combo box
appears. Select the workbook which opened previously and click ok. Do this
for all worksheets from all the workbooks.

HTH.

Nitin

Re: [AI] Internet banking with thumb impression

2015-09-01 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Hello,

I also do have net banking and debit card with SBI which I have taken on
thumb impression. However, I had to fight to get it. I ask the officer to
give in writing that I can't avail the facilities using thumb impression.
He said no, since your VI I can't give you and he raised lots of questions
like, what if your net banking password get hacked?
What if your card get stolen?
And so on. I shown him circulars of RBI and SBI in which clearly stated
that there should not be any discrimination by giving these facilities to
VI; still he was denying me. I asked him to write the same thing that since
your VI I can't give these facilities to you. I boldly told him I'll not
leave the counter unless I get the facilities or denial in written. I also
taking video while talking to him. After seeing my mobile, he requested me
to stop the video I said I won't! then he scared a bit and told me to wait
for 2 3 days. After 5 days, I received the debit card by post and when I
gone to get pin of it he gave me the net banking as well. So, I won the
battle but the wore remains
same!!!
Don't know what should we do since lot of people face the same problem
while getting these facilities.

Kind Regards,
Nitin

Re: [AI] Help requested in working with Oracle software

2012-03-20 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Hello Vinod,

Oracle is very much accessible with Jaws. If you talking about
banking's reports then it's depend on what type of work do you have
however, there is an oracle's command-line tool called SQL+, is quite
accessible though you have to use Jaws curser for seeing result.

E.G. If you fired a query like,

select name, subject, marks from student where roleNumber=50

Oracle will show you result as,

Name subject marks
---
Vinod English 70

1 rows selected

Oracle has a web based GUI as well but I never used it. You can search
on google about the same.

Re: [AI] a unique question about excel, its urgent.

2012-03-15 Thread Nitin Dhaware
Hello Zoher,

I have written a programme which can give the result same as you want.
E.G. Cell A1 has value 10 (aj) Cell B1 has value 10 (aj) if you put
formula like a1+b1 then you'll get result as bj. In my programme you
just need to insert a function called calcNumber and have to put
formula like (a1+b1).

Please share your mailID so, I'll send an attachment with the instructions.

Note: You can use 4 maths symbols with this programme like +,-,/,*

 Hello my expert friends,

Today I have come with a unique question. Actually I want to assign a
alphabetic value to the numbers, like for example, a for 1, b for 2,
 c for 3, d for 4, e for 5, f for 6, g for7, h for 8,
I for 9 and j for 0. Now I want to behave the above alphabets as
numbers in formula. Now if I type in a1, AB and in a2 I type AC and in
 a3 I type a formula, =a1+a2 I should get the answer as 25 or B E a as
 both meens same to me.

Actually I want to hide certain values from the peoples when I discus the
file with some one, but at the same time I should be able to understand that
data. So I have decided to a sign a alphabetic values to numbers as code.
For the simplification purpose I had simplified the codes above, but it
might be any random alphabet for any number. But each number from 0 to 9,
will be assigned a unique alphabet.

I hope I have clarified my question to you all.

Blind can soon do away with scribes for bank exams
 L Subramani,Bangalore, Feb 1,2012, DHNS:

?Nethra Sarathy,? an online testing tool is expected to be ready in eight
 months

In what could be a major boost for visually challenged persons -
applying for bank jobs - the Institute for Banking Personal Selections
(IBPS) will develop an online testing tool to enable them to take the
test without scribes, for the first time.

The biggest testing and skill-building organisation has joined hands
with International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore
(IIITB) and the National Association for the Blind Karnataka (NABK),
to develop ?Nethra Sarathy,? the testing tool, in about eight months.
The tool will be deployed nationally for all visually challenged
candidates taking the test by the end of 2012, IBPS Director
Balachandran told Deccan Herald over the phone, from Mumbai.

?There are nearly 1.45 million visually challenged persons aged
between 20 and 29 in the country and 50 per cent of them apply for
 bank jobs,? Balachandran said.

?Finding the right kind of scribes who would adequately reflect their
ability to answer questions in a banking test remained the biggest
impediment for them to crack the test and find gainful employment in
the banking sector. We hope the new tool would obviate the need for
scribes and allow them to take advantage of the technology available,?
 he said.

 Training

IIITB Director and President of NABK Prof S Sadagopan said nearly 100
visually challenged candidates who had applied for bank exams last
year from Karnataka would be trained in the newly-designed tool to
check whether absence of scribe obstructs their speed or efficiency in
 answering questions.

?The testing software has to be compatible with the screen reading
software the visuall challenged use to read and write on a PC. But we
need to ensure that the system in place is stable enough for them to
take the exam without trouble,? he added.

While IIITB would work on the patches which can be downloaded and
fixed to ensure stability of performance and connectivity throughout
the test period, NABK would put the tool to test and check whether the
candidates feel comfortable using the online tool than a scribe.

?The 100 students would be trained under the computer training
programme we have at NABK and, at the end of the pilot project to test
the tool, they would either be allowed to take the real test for bank
jobs or offered more training and placement through our computer
course,? said NABK Secretary V Mohan Kumar.

Last year, more than 8,000 visually challenged candidates appeared for
the recruitment test conducted by IBPS for the banking sector, one of
the largest recruiters of visually challenged persons. Due to

 Sir,
I don’t think with thumb impression you will get checkbook and other

There may be GR but it is not being implementing anywhere properly.
So it’s always better you learn signature (in small letters) as early
as possible to get banking facilities.

impression or signature has any rol to play as one uses
 computer
to transact and not the pen or other hand writing method.

On the other note, if any rule is not implemented, there is mechanism
 system
in place to fight that. One should be aware enough and have patience and
desire to search for the appropriate information and file the complaint
against the people not adhering to the policies governing them.
