[AI] Looking idea for making Pre school Bee accesible
Dear Access indians , In Aarav school DPS his classmates are participating in Preschool Bee which is fun learning competition conducted by marrspreschoolbee for preschooler in world. We contacted school for Aarav's participation his teachers talk to concern person then they refer us to talk to concern person. I spoke to him he wants to make things accessible for Aarav but how??because many things are visual :) .I am attaching sample question paper along with my idea what i am thinking to make it accessible.I have to go and meet him next week . 1 .Find odd one out : One scribe will sit with him and tell him picture. 2.Copy the letter :Visually impaired child can write on Braille writer . 3.Match the object : again scribe is needed. (Shanthala can any organisation make tactile question paper ??) 4.Maze is very complicated ruled out for visually impaired. 5. Join the dots can be done in Ipad or again it is ruled out 6. Coloring ruled out. any idea???aarav does coloring in raised line but not that clean . 7. Hello all, Thanks for reply i am describing my requirment. Dual reading book means it can read by sighted as well as visually impaired people.Both braille and print is visible at the same time. I have sticky sheet which is not transparent what is happening i do not have much blank place to stick on book either colorful picture or written things got cover and can not be use by sighted kids and if my son can see color he can not enjoy. Some books have the braille on clear plastic sheets that adhere to or lay over the print pages. These books can be read by a child who is blind as well as by someone who is sighted. In this way the literacy experience can be shared with others. This type of print-braille publication is known as Twin Vision. The photo shows how the braille is embossed on a transparent plastic sheet. You can adapt printed books at home for the child who is blind. Braille the words onto special plastic adhesive-backed sheets.Once the words are embossed on the plastic, cut the plastic to fit the page, remove the backing, and then stick it to the page. If the plastic is transparent and placed carefully, it will not interfere with the print or the pictures. This is important because some children have sufficient vision to see color and shapes. Also, children may have sighted brothers and sisters who will share the book. If any one is having seedling or books from Braille institute US they use this technic to make books i am looking if it is available in india. Currently I am using OHP transparent sheet but its not sticky, if i stick that sheet with fevicol or anything its not working so well. Hello Amar do you know any NGO in Bangalore which have story books for kids? My son is 2.5 years old and we can make books for kids like we can get book from store and do braille with white adhesive label sheet or OHP transparent sheet in that book so that it can be dual reader book. If possible we can make some tactile also or make story box. In beginning we can read with them slowly they will do or if we have audible of that book let it run and your son will read.For my son i made books and he is enjoying those. For audible books bookshare is very good.
