There is no need of disability ID card while booking ticket with
escort. Just we need to select one of the ID options from the drop
down and enter that particular ID number of Escort. I use escort Adhar
as ID and it work. Even 1 month back also I booked ticket with escort
in the same way.

Re: [AI] Regarding Railway Photo ID

2021-11-16 Thread faizal K A
Hi,

Railway ID card will have 12-digit ID card number. And it will be the
combination of alpha numeric. Like in Kerala it starts with SRTVC
followed by 7-digit unique number. Here the third, fourth and fifth
digit will be the railway DRM office station code. In this case it is
TVC which is Trivandrum. Similarly, in Bangalore it is SWSBC and
followed by 7-digit numbers. And in Chennai it is SRMAS followed by
7-digit number.

Regarding your 2nd question try to change Aadhar or some other ID
instead of PAN and see whether it work.

Re: [AI] A useful addition to Talkback 12.1!

2021-11-16 Thread faizal K A
Before Samsung was one of the good accessible phone. But now they are
not at all concentrating the accessibility factors. Recently I got an
opportunity to explore Samsung latest 5G A52 phone. And in this I
noticed several issues like during call talkback speak very loud and
we cannot even reduce the talk back volume in the call. The only thing
we have to do is to mute talk back during call. This apart back button
on the right bottom was not that much responsive. In YouTube when we
play some Video by mistake if our finger touches the percentage slide
area talk back simply speak continuously the percentage of the Video.

Re: [AI] Application format required for applying railway smart card from DRM office

2021-10-01 Thread faizal K A
Even when I asked this to the railway official, they also told me that
everyone will get only 5 years validity irrespective of their age and
disability. And there is no such system of getting different validity
based on age and disability condition. And this apart as per railway
guideline we can renew the card before 3 months of expiry by following
the same procedure. But in my case I went 45 days before the expiry
date. And at that time, they told me to come back after expiry date.
The reason here they told me was, if the card is not expired if they
enter the details system will not accept. and again I visited 2nd time
soon after my card expiry date and they took somewhere around 26 days
to issue new card. And this time they told me that date of proof
document is not needed instead of that they collected my old railway
card.

Finally I applied it on 2nd September, 2021 and my card got ready on
28th September, 2021. But the problem is that as per railway guideline
those who are more than 25 years old they should get 10 years validity
in case of permanant disability and those who are more than 35 years
they should get life time validity in case of permanat disability. But
still railway is issuing the card only with 5 years validity.

[AI] Application format required for applying railway smart card from DRM office

2021-08-27 Thread faizal K A
Hi Everyone,

Today I made railway concession certificate from my District hospital.
And now I am looking for the specific application format to submit in
DRM office for railway smart card along with other relevant documents.
I got one format from
https://divyangjan-rail.in/
But it was in Hindi. I am looking for English format. Because last
time one of my friend submitted other language format and railway
issued card for him in Tamil. And because of this whenever he wants to
use the card and book the ticket, he has to type his name in Tamil
only. So, to avoid this I required English format.

Can someone tell me from where I can download English format. Or if
someone has kindly sent to me.

[AI] Regarding applying Railway photo identity card through online

2021-07-07 Thread faizal K A
Hi Access India Members,

My railway photo identity card validity is getting over and I am
trying to apply it through online from
https://divyangjan-rail.in/

But my question is that in the 2nd step after log in they are asking
to select the hospital from where we obtain the concession
certificate. they listed around 74 hospitals and organisations like
NAB, AICB, The Blind Releaf Association Etc from new Delhi. So I would
like to know that Since I am from south India and I am not able to
find any hospitals or organisations in the list from south. And also
they did not give any option for us to enter hospital or organisation
address other than what they mentioned in the list. So is there any
possibility for me to apply this through online with out visiting DRM
office? I also have my UDID card.
Kindly guide me on this.

can we install it from play store and can we use both google talkback
and voice assistance simultaneously? And another question is that with
out taking sighted people help can we activate Samsung voice
assistance?

Re: [AI] IRCTC new website, looking confusing, any clue?

2018-06-16 Thread Faizal K A
Hi Mohib,

Today I could book tickets through IRCTC. I booked 2 tickets. Today
OTP was coming as usual. There are 2 methods which I tried to book the
tickets. For onward I used the following method.

Opened the web page
www.irctc.co.in

Then activated the link list and clicked on agent log in.

After clicking this link I got the website as before. Then I followed
old step to book my ticket.

For return I used the following method

Opened the web page
www.irctc.co.in

Then Quit Jaws.
Than activated NVDA.
Then activated link list and pressed L till I here Log in and hit enter there.

After that even NVDA was not announcing anything. Then I tried with
insert+tab key and then it said user name edit. There I entered
username and then pass word by pressing tab and after that I got a
check box which was un checked by default and I assumed that it was
for OTP for visually impaired as usual and after ticking the check
box I pressed enter on log in then I received my OTP and then I
confirmed with insert+tab and my focus was already on OTP edit box and
I entered my OTP and hit on submit. So like that I could log in. After
that I quit NVDA and Tried with Jaws. and after log in for me Jaws was
supporting. But here I noticed that there are some places for both
Jaws and NVDA are not supporting. For example as soon as we log in we
have to enter from, to and date and then we have to select the coach
and then we have to tick on divyang option if we are using railway ID
card and click on find trains.

After that in case if we want to choose handicapped quota there the
quota options are displayed in the form of compo box. This compo box
is not reading with Jaws and NVDA. Here after opening the compo box I
pressed arrow key and confirmed with Insert+tab. So after selecting
the appropriate train and coach just below we can see the option
called get availability and fair So I clicked this option and I could
see the availability and fair and like before just below the
availability of particular date I could see the option of book now.
And here again initially we will see the field to fill only 1
passenger details. In case we are booking with escort after filling
all the details of first passenger we have to click add another
passenger link to book for escort.

Then after filling all the details I entered my second OTP and click
on next. There I could see the options almost same like before for
making the payment.

Just let you know that I am using Windows 7 64 bit with Jaws 18.

Re: [AI] Looking for the information of accessible banks who provide accessible net banking facilities for both Computer and Android mobile

2016-11-19 Thread Faizal K A
Thanks every one for your valuable suggestions.
Yes Sreenivasu I called SBI customer care and they told me to visit
home branch. And also they told me to apply through SBI net banking.
After submitting all the details I am getting the following message
"Either PAN or Form 6061 is Mandatory acct".

Even the same I conveyed to the customer care. But their reply is to
go and visit home branch.

This week I went 2 times there. But they are not even ready to listen
the matter. Then I came back to Bangalore.

So now I decided to open new account. I also would like to know any of
these banks like Canera bank, Indian bank or Indian Over Seas Bank are
providing accessible net banking? is there any Android accessible ap
for any of these bank? Because I visited these 3 banks. And they are
ready to open the account. And I also heard that SBI has a place where
they will provide account opening in 5 Min and they will provide all
the facilities on spot. And for pass book we have to go to another SBI
bank near by. This place I found in Express Avenue Mall Chennai. So if
these above mentioned 3 banks are not accessible can I open another
SBI account in another branch with same mobile number?
Requesting you to share your knowledge on this.

[AI] Looking for the information of accessible banks who provide accessible net banking facilities for both Computer and Android mobile

2016-11-18 Thread Faizal K A
Dear all,
5 years back I opened bank account in SBI bank. But unfortunately my
ATM date is expired. And I tried contacting the bank officials and
they told me that because of the public croud this time it is very
difficult to apply and they told me to come after 1 month. And my home
branch is in Hyderabad and I am working in Bangalore. So I decided to
open another bank account in Bangalore. I prefer to open an account in
the bank who provide accessible net bank facilities and who provide
accessible android mobile ap to do banking transactions through
android mobile. So in this regards I would like to know the following
informations.
1. Other than SBI which is the most accessible bank for using internet banking?
2. Is all the accessible netbanking providers will provide accessible
android mobile ap for doing banking transactions in the mobile like
State bank anywhere?
3. I heard Canera bank provide ATM on the day we open the bank
account, so is it correct information?
4. I also heard that if they provide ATM on the spot our name won't be
there on card. So how important our name should print on card?

So requesting you to help me in this regard.

[AI] Going to start Training for Visually impaired girls

2016-09-23 Thread Faizal K A
Dear all,
Pasting below an article which I got it from another list.
Since attachments are not allowed, pasting it here.

A C E Course Prospectus
Overview
Sins 2003 this trust running hostel for prove blind girls who wants
pursue higher education in the college. Many have secured jobs in
teaching in the past at present getting employed in teaching has
became very difficult. In the present scenario the opportunity for
conventional profession (teaching) is becoming limited, Lotus Blind
Welfare Trust of India therefore, would like to concentrate on
various other employment opportunities from private and public sectors
which is listed in pwd act 1995.
Hence the trust propose to have an ACE-(aptitude computer English)
project for visually challenged graduate girls with free hostel
facility.
The purpose of the project is to train the visually impaired in
empowering and equipping computer knowledge and to face competitive
exams free of cost. This would enable our learners (trainees) to get
employment opportunities both in public and private sector.
Duration of the course will be for one year. Following subject
matters will be covered during the course:
Introduction to the Training Program
Information Technology (IT) and usage of computers is the biggest
enabler for the educated blind. It has a deeper impact for the blind
than for persons without disability.
Computer Training for the visually impaired is the greatest form of
empowerment for them. It opens up the world to them: a world of
information (aiding research, education, daily living, recreation),
people, jobs, books (print to voice). Computer training involves
training on Computer Basics, MS office and Internet using screen
reading software. Screen reader is a talking software that aids the
visually impaired to “hear” everything that a sighted person would
“read”.
Computer education for the visually impaired enables them in their
basic education, higher education, research, daily living and
employment. In today’s environment with paperless offices and
information available on the internet, computers represent freedom for
the visually impaired. Now a days there are lot of jobs available for
both private and government sector for visually impaired people. But
the problem is that people are not able to find skilled visually
impaired candidate. So our aim is to make all the visually impaired
people to become finished product. If we can achieve this we can
reduce the situation of unemployment in visually impaired community.
And also we have to make them to prepare competitive exam preparation
for the visually impaired people. Now what is happening is that we
have lot of reservation in Government sector. But nobody is able to
qualify for that position. Why because they are very poor in
mathematics. Because of this they are not able to solve numerical and
aptitude questions.
