Re: [AI] Google chrome issue.

2021-06-20 Thread Vaibhav Saraf
Hi,

If nothing works then try to run a compatible version of Chrome.

Right click on Chrome icon on desktop or wherever it is. > Properties >
Compatibility.
Choose windows 7/8/xp, and try whichever works.
Note: This change will be applicable only for one instance of Chrome.

Chrome 90 introduced multiple such glitches, some of which can be fixed
using this compatibility work-around. Don't the logic.

Note 2: If it works only when you set the compatibility then sit back and
try another browser, wait for 7-10 days and Chrome should be ok
automatically.

Tried and tested by me.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

[AI] Google Chrome browser scans all the files on your computer, including private photos, documents and spreadsheets

(Natural News)
Google has come under fire for many questionable actions as of late — and the
startling revelation that their widely used web browser, Google Chrome, is
scanning personal computers around the world is nothing short of infuriating
for its users. Big Brother is here — and countless numbers of people have
invited this authoritarian presence (in one form or another) while being none
the wiser. Indeed, some of the world’s largest corporations (like Google
and Amazon) are continuing to find new ways to invade user privacy.

In addition to a spying web browser, devices like Google Home and the Amazon
Echo (and Alexa) are going places where the prying eyes of corporate interests
have never gone before. Worse still, they’ve convinced us to willingly purchase
these devices and place them in our homes. People are actually paying for
the “privilege” of being spied on — all the while turning a blind eye to the
total invasion of privacy for the sake of “convenience” and keeping up with
the Jones’.

Google Chrome has become the trendy browser of choice, but not without a cost
to users. A shocking report recently revealed that a series of “updates”
to Chrome gave it the ability to scan all the files on Windows computers. It
may be the browser so-called security pros suggest, but as it turns out,
Chrome’s
security blanket may just be a ruse so they can take your information for
themselves.

You see, the Google Clean-up Tool was turned into a mandatory part of Chrome in
2017 — and users were never made aware of this new feature.

As this quote
reported by Information Liberation
 explains:

In practice, Chome [sic] on Windows looks through your computer in search of
malware that targets the Chrome browser itself using ESET’s antivirus engine.
If it finds some suspected malware, it sends metadata of the file where the
malware is stored, and some system information, to Google. Then, it asks you
to for permission to remove the suspected malicious file. (You can opt-out of
sending information to Google by deselecting the “Report details to Google”
checkbox.)

Google proponents claim that these newly released “security features” bear no
risk of infringing on user privacy — but the fact that this web browser’s
modus operandi is to literally scan every file on your computer has raised more
than a few eyebrows — especially because all of these scans have been conducted
under a cloak of secrecy. Most users had no idea that Google Chrome would do
this — and certainly were unable to provide explicit permission for the scans.

But it seems in the age of Big Brother, permission to surveil the masses is
implied.

Dylan Curran, a web developer from Ireland, downloaded his own Google file and
in a series of tweets, revealed that
the corporation had been holding onto his data
(and presumably, everyone else’s) since 2008. That decade’s worth of data
included every YouTube video he’d watched, every place he’d traveled to, every
website he’d visited in the last year and more. The file totaled up to a
staggering 5.5 gigabytes — which is reportedly equivalent to three million Word
documents.

Along with their authoritarian surveillance, Google has repeatedly been called
out for acts of censorship.

It’s not just Google you need to be worried about, unfortunately. Amazon’s
Alexa has also come under fire for spying on users, and a new patent indicates
the problem of
corporate surveillance is only going to get worse.
Amazon recently filed a patent for a “voice sniffer algorithm.” Effectively,
this would allow Alexa to passively listen to your household conversations
in real-time, while waiting to identify “trigger words” that give Amazon
insight into your home and your life.

Natural News founder Mike Adams, the Health Ranger and director of CWC Labs,
recently reported on how dangerous these companies are
and why they need to be stopped — before their totalitarian tactics become the
law of the land.

Re: [AI] Google chrome and internet explorer

2012-08-27 Thread bhawani shankar verma
google chroam is not fully accesible with jaws. however, please make the
following settings in your internet explorer, hope this will help:

Internet Explorer
If you want to use the Internet Explorer toolbar, you should include text
labels on the buttons. To do this go to the Toolbars submenu under the View
menu and choose customize and select Text Labels. There are several advanced
options that should also be changed. Open the Internet Options dialog under
the Tools menu and go to the Advanced page. Under The Accessibility Section,
make sure the following are checked:

· Move system caret with focus/selection changes.

· Always expand all text for images
.

Under the Browsing section, make sure the following are not checked:

· Show channel bar at startup.

· Show friendly URLs.

· Use smooth scrolling.

· Enable page transitions.

In the Accessibility dialog, make sure Ignore Colors Specified On Web Pages
is checked. This dialog opens when you press the Accessibility button in the
General page of the Internet Options dialog.

Subject: [AI] Google chrome and internet explorer

Hi guys,

I dont know why but at my system, i use IE 8 still it crashes many
times and gives me message like "Internet explorer has stopped working
restart the programme or check online or close the programme" Hence, I
switch to google chrome. But in Google Chrome, Jaws does not read the
message body of the emails properly. For e.g. the emails from access
india seem quite organisedin IE 8 in the Google chrome it reads
like everything written in the line so it becomes very dificult to
spot the starting of the messageetc.
What can be the solution for :
1. reduce crashing of IE?
2. Can we change the features through settings of Google chrome some
what little simelar to IE?
Thanking in advanced
Regards
Siddhi

Re: [AI] Google Chrome with JAWS 8?

2009-10-02 Thread Ravi Paul
Hi Moiz, did you try to arbitrarily copy and paste the URL from the
address bar into the place you want? I mean, without regard for
whether or not JAWS reads the address; I have a different kind of
problem that nun the less causes the same problem – the nonreading of
the address.
If you want to go to registry editor, you should press "regedit" from
the run dialogue box; %appdata% from the same to go to the current
user's folder.
delete a folder named "mozilla" in that folder after uninstalling
firefox the same way you had done; do the editting in the registry
editor only if your sure, as it could damage your system if you
wrongly edit something else...
Sorry for this rather long one, but would you be willing to experiment
with NVDA or for that matter, do a cleen uninstall of JAWS and
reinstalling it

Re: [AI] Google Chrome with JAWS 8?

2009-10-02 Thread Amar Jain
Since this post does not contain previous discussions on this topic, please
excuse me if it has been already said.
Can you try insert A for reading the location bar?
If I remember that works.
However I am not using ff now a days.
Anyway whatever was going on in this topic, and since you wish to remove ff
completely, do as follows:

Go to:
C:\documents and settings\your user\application data, and remove the folder may
be named as mozila or firefox. YOu will find that.

And now go to:

Registry editor I know you know it, then delete the mozila key from Current
user\softwares and local machines\softwares.
Generally the key for mozila only exist in the current_user\softwares.
If I can be of any help, then please let me know about this problem in detail,
since looking at the subject makes me believe that it has something to do with
crome.

Ravi,
I uninstalled Firefox from add/remove in control panel. How do you
erase it entirely before reinstalling? Control L and Alt D takes me to
the location where the web address is typed but then I cannot get JAWS
to read the entire URL. My basic requirement is to copy paste
useful/interesting links to be put up on social networking sites,
forwarding to friends or store for future referencing.
Moiz.

Re: [AI] Google Chrome with JAWS 8?

2009-10-02 Thread Ravi Paul
Just asking: did you try to do a clean uninstall of Firefox (i.e.
completely removing all the traces of it in program files, documents
and settings) and re-installing it? Google chrome is not accessible at
the moment, although they claim to be working on that aspect.
Which keystroke did you press? alt+d? CTRL+l? what message did you get?

Re: [AI] Google Chrome in Indian languages

2009-05-31 Thread Ankit Jindal
Is google crome accessible to Jaws? I tried using it in December 2008 and I
found it to be inaccessible? What is the group members user experience if at
all anyone has used it?

Warm regards

Google Chrome in Indian languages

T. Ramachandran

It is possible to switch from one language to another

KOCHI: Google Chrome is now being offered in many Indian languages, with
version 2 of the browser made available for download.

The stable version 2 comes in Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam,
Marathi, Oriya (on Windows Vista alone), Tamil, and Telugu. A Hindi version
was available
earlier.

What this means is that PC users who have Windows Vista as their operating
system should be able to easily select the browser's interface language by
using
the language-setting options. It should also be possible to switch from one
language to another by changing the language option and re-launching the
browser.
The users can then see the browser menus and other associated content in one
of the Indian languages (or any of the other available language options).

Recent phenomenon

With Windows XP, the Indian language options are fewer, and font rendering
might be an issue, if the user's system is not primed for it. Asked about
this,
a Google spokesperson said: "Creation and consumption of Indian language
content on the web is a relatively recent phenomenon. In some cases, the
fonts
get installed by default, and if not, Google tries to provide installation
or downloading option through all our products."

Chrome was launched only in September 2008, but it has garnered a small
share of the browser market. In December last, a Google blog post claimed
that in
just 100 days, the initial (beta) version had built up a base of over 10
million active users worldwide.

Apart from its availability in several languages, speed was one feature on
which there has been increased focus in the new version. Improvements had
been
made to get the browser to load up and render pages faster, Google claimed.

Stability is also another improvement being highlighted, with the fixing of
"over 300 bugs that caused crashes since launch." In the new release, Google
also referred to the form autofill option, which enabled users to fill up
form fields without having to input the same information in each instance.

However, this browser is not packed with as many features as some of the
others are. And it might not fit your bill, if you are a heavy user of the
kind
of add-ons that are possible with Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.

A modern platform

This has a lot to do with how Google has conceived the browser. It was "not
just a browser but also a modern platform for web pages and applications."
The
browser is based on open source software. It has been developed with Webkit,
an open source browser engine, which was originally deployed for the Safari
browser. The rendering of Javascript, a scripting language widely used in
the Web environment, was also speeded up, Google said.

As for the release of the stable version 2 of the browser, Google itself
said it did not give much weightage to version numbers, and these were
"mainly
a metric to help us keep track of changes internally." For those already
using older versions, the update ought to happen automatically.
