Dear all,

With reference to the trail mail, this is to let you all know that I have
recently received health insurance claim for my mother. The insurance was a
corporate insurance with an option for cashless settlement.
  The insurance policy was from Tata AIG and I have received all my pre and
post operation expenses as reimbursements. All the hospital expenses
was provided as cashless settlements.
Note that the claim was for gallbladder operation.
My experience with health insurance provided by an employer was very
satisfactory, although the premium was deducted from my salary.

As per my understanding, all pre-existing diseases are covered from day one
in case the insurance is provided by the employer as corporate insurance.

It is the choice of custommer to take that policy or not.

Companies do not impose on non-PWD.

the approved claim amount is known as "co-pay". Such co-pay clauses are 
present in health insurance policies issued to non-PWD people also. The

Because IRDAI leaves that decision on underwriters. And StarHealth guys do that 
a lot in case of PWDs. Even CCPD orders on this have been useless.

your sum insured and charge little extra premium.

 

1. Have the denial in writing clearly specifying the reason of denial.

 

2. Write to their MD some south Indian guy-Ranganathan or something similar.

No company can legally deny you health insurance. At best, they can 
restrict your sum insured and charge little extra premium.


1. Have the denial in writing clearly specifying the reason of denial.

2. Write to their MD some south Indian guy-Ranganathan or something 
similar.

Star health people are excluding only blind people whereas all other
handicaps are included.
