Mohib,

Wikipedia has a good definition of the term digital signature. It is not a USB
drive. It can certainly be contained on one.

You can use a digital signature to sign  electronic documents such as contracts.
I understand that it is accepted by Indian law but I do not know how prevalent
signing contracts this way is in India.

Digital Signature certificate of DSC is a device that is required by
an individual for use in various online activities: for instance, in
the process of e tendering, the person who wish to submit his / her
bid needs to have a digital signature certificate.

And, for owning a DSC: anyone can own a digital signature certificate.
