minimising the size of their usages but expecting long term relationship
with them. :d

There is an option to dim the brightness. Does that save any battery?

Dear Sir,
You can make defferent settings including brightness to reduce use of
power in batterry mode if you are windows7 user. Thus you can save
the power and extend the battery usage.

nope. actually, as per the dell laptops, the function key combination
works for different actions. For an example, if the laptop hasn't
modified in the bios, as per dell, pressing f2 alone will close your y5.
Pressing it again will turn it on. I'ts toggling.

Since I've modified it with my bios, it works with fn key plus f2. In
another words, by default, f1 f2 ... f12 keys will function like
multimedia keys in dell.

Yes, decreasing the brightness saves the battery. but as per my
knowledge, every laptop has a key combination for turning on and off
the display completely. it saves the battery more than from the
dimming. Dinesh, I think since you changed the your function key, you
could not locate it. I guess it is the Fn key along with any of the

yeah. I guess function key plus f4 is for decreasing the brightness. and
f5 for increasing. I guess that will save a little.

There is an option to dim the brightness. Does that save any battery?

Re: [AI] how to save battery?

2012-02-26 Thread Umesha Economics
Yes, decreasing the brightness saves the battery. but as per my knowledge,
every laptop has a key combination for turning on and off the display
completely. it saves the battery more than from the dimming. Dinesh, I think
since you changed the your function key, you could not locate it. I guess it
is the Fn key along with any of the function keys from f1 to f12. you can
get it by trial and error.
