Re: [AI] Google Maps Walking directions query

2022-05-07 Thread Krishna Bodawala
Hello,

Yes I too face this problem.
It generally happens on the start of the navigation, so instead of
trying few tricks by my self, I ask a sighted person on the start of
the journey. it is time saving and I get better idea of the road I
have to travel.

Re: [AI] Google Maps Walking directions query

2022-05-07 Thread Ajay Minocha
Hi,

Generally, only the 1st step is based on direction as the GPS can't
ascertain which side you are facing. Once it judges bases your
driving/ walking directions, it begins to be more precise. But I
agree, it becomes pretty hard to start if you are very new to that
place.
May be a personal opinion but I have seen google maps being accurate
more than 90% of the times (used while traveling across cities). A lot
of times, users including cab drivers miss a turn and then blame it on
maps.

Because turn right and left are subjective and the meaning are different
for two persons facing in different directions but are standing on the

2022-05-06 Thread George Abraham
Head South East, head North etc. is not a very practical way of giving
direction. Do not know why simple terms like turn right or turn left etc.
cannot be used instead.

Re: [AI] Google Maps Walking directions query

2022-05-05 Thread Khandu Bhandare
hi vaibhav, i understood your query. what you have to do is:
1. suppose you are standing on the road and map is showing you "head
south east for so and so kilometer "
2. try walking twards your left and check the distence from the
current location to your destination.
3. if your distance is increasing it means you are going on wrong direction.
4. then try walking towards your right sideand again check the distance.
hope this will help you.

Re: [AI] Google Maps Walking directions query

2022-05-05 Thread Vaibhav Saraf
Hi Ram,

Yes. And the problem is these days I am already on the road looking through

better solution.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

Greetings! I would suggest you to work with Compass. It helps most of the
time. I have tried it. However, it is a little complicated using two
applications simultaneously.
