Amar, I did visit USA last July 2023 and came to know that Apple pay is widely used which still offer privacy and independence but they still use touchscreen POS and unfortunately did not get an opportunity to interact with any blind community member in America. Thanks for your kind words regarding Bureau of Indian standard digital Accessibility standard contribution; we just had a meeting and did put POS clause and I understand that our next task would be to frame specification and propose Standard operating process. It is an open secret that implementation of law is still not up to the mark but I still remain optimism as we have now protective legal framework to speak up. Some companies for their employees and one or two otherwise have deployed using Android / IOS capabilities some accessible POS. I know the answer is frustrating but that is where we are. I had done this check extensively when we were writing the committee report to see if we could provide some recommendations. But looking at how brilliantly BIS standards are drafted (and you were one of the contributors of course amongst others) getting this done is not difficult at all.
