Reading new messages and Missed call notifications very easy I expect Nokia like access, that is just by pressing at one place all the new messages or missed calls are shown. KK: You need to go to the notification centre. Touch the top of the screen where the status icons and do a 3 finger swipe down. All major notifications including missed calls and text messages are available here. You can also double tap on any of the notifications to directly jump to the relevant app to take an action on them. Further, all notifications appear on the lock screen if your phone has been locked for a while. Again you can double tap individual items to directly jump to the relevant app. 2. I m a heavy sms user. Therefore, would like to have Nokia like set up where can go in to To field or select contacts by pressing at the same place and QERTI key pad should be ready while I am at the text field. KK: if you start composing a new text message, the focus is automatically first placed in the To field. The virtual keyboard also appears at the bottom of the screen. Start typing in the contact's name and suggestions will appear below the To field. You don't have to type the entire name. once the right contact suggestion appears, just double tap that contact. You can also add multiple users if you wish. Once you are done entering the recipients, keep right swiping until you get to the message body. Double tap to enter edit mode and type your message. Right now, as you must be knowing I need to go all round my hand set, it's little funny and time consuming. In her police complaint, Vandana Malik, wife of management professor Virender Malik (50), who has been bedridden for the past around six months, alleged that OSD to the MDU vice-chancellor and three others forced her husband to give his thumb impressions on blank documents in the absence of his family at his residence. She also named the vice-chancellor in her complaint, accusing them of cheating, forgery and trespass. While police started investigations on receipt of the complaint on October 18, they have not registered a case yet. Vandana alleged that her husband, who is suffering from MND, a rare and deadly disease which has left his entire body paralyzed, was alone in the house on October 10 when Officer On Special Duty (OSD) to vice chancellor Vazir Singh Dalalhttp://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Vazir-Singh-Dalal and three other employees took his thumb impression on blank papers. These were used as an application seeking VRS on behalf of Malik. In its executive council meeting on October 12, the university granted the professor VRS with effect from October 18. The intimation letter sent to Malik said, he had been allowed VRS with immediate effect by waiving off the three months notice period. Vandana said her husband had been teaching in the Institute of Management Studies and Research for the past 26 years. Professor Malik had been taking classes till May this year, which is when he became completely disabled. On May 23, doctors declared him 100% disabled. At this, the professor sent a request to the Vice-Chancellor seeking permission to continue in service as per the provisions of the Person with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1955. The Act states that no establishment shall dispense with or reduce in rank an employee who acquires disability during service. When contacted, MDU Vice-Chancellor R.P. Hooda said the professor had been granted VRS on his request. The varsity has no motive in granting him retirement which was given on his personal request.
