many ANR5024W (servermon) messages in actlog
hello, every 10 minutes this message appears in actlog. so we do not want to run servermon or even configure it on our spectrum protect server. i only found alwaysonservermon yes as parameter in dsmserv.opt. so i tested alwaysonservermon no and it seems to work. am i right? with best regards stefan savoric

Hello, after upgrading spectrum protect from 7.1.7.x to 8.1.6 we see a lot of errors on tapes beeing copied or moved. Before upgrade from version 7.1.7 we had no similar messages and the tapes have no read or write errors before. with best regards stefan savoric

Hello, our complete new tsm ve installation for vmware 8.1.4 was configured completely over the webgui. so all nodes, etc are registered from the wizard. so we do not know any of the passwords of the datamovers or the datacenter node at all. and thats the problem. how can we change the datacenter node password? for example to get the recovery agent work? with which password are the nodes registered? with best regards stefan savoric

Dear Eric, dear Håkon, the trick was that there must be the same admin, we called it "export" on both servers with transitional security, but you only connect with this admin on the source server and start the export if you try to connect with "export" on target then the security is changed to strict and we were not able to get this back to transitional thank you very much, also for the official ibm support stefan savoric

hello exporting data from 6.3.4.300 to 8.1.1 was working we had this environment some months ago. now we had to do same thing with 6.3.4.300 and new version 8.1.4. other location of same customer does not work anymore messages like down level, etc do we need to update the 6.3 tsm server first? we do not want ssl on the old server, so for us it is better if possible to update to a server level older than 8.1.2. with best regards stefan savoric
Incr. Online SAP backup
Hi everybody, Did anyone of tried incrementally backing up SAP R/3 DB online to TSM ? I have been trying with rman_util as the backup_devtype and I am getting RMAN Errors which says can not create file (looks like control file) due to RPC Error, and Oracle pops out a message ORA19624 which is I/O error. Do you where this RMAN is trying create a file(temp. control file) As I know it should create it in /tmp directory and this has proper write permission. Thanks for any clues on this. Does any body tried SAP Incr. backup to TSM ?
Hi everybody, I am looking for some info on how you set up SAP's SAPDBA for incr. backup to TSM. I tried using rman_util, but RMAN fails with RPC error and ORA 19624 error when it tries to create temp. control file for the database backup.
