Re: W2K backup error message

If I remember correctly, it means that there is some type of corruption on
the client. You should ask them to run chkdsk /f on the drive in question,
and then see if you still get the error.

I don't recall ever seeing/getting a response to this issue.

I am receiving the following error messages from a W2K server backup

 03/18/2002 19:17:42
  ANE4042E (Session: 1014, Node: ACADNT5) Object name '\\'
contains
one or more unrecognized characters and is not valid.

They are running the 4.2.1.0 client. I told them to upgrade to 4.2.1.20
(or should I go higher ???) client, but want to be sure this will address
the issue !

Is this a UNICODE issue ?

Our server is OS390 4.1.4. I was about to install the 4.1.5 patches and
say they are up to 4.1.8, so I am going there, instead.

Yes, I have. The include/excludes are controlled from this end via
CLIENTOPT. They don't have any specified on the client end.

I'm thinking it is a UNICODE and/or bad file. Perhaps a fix, issue ? I am
hoping Tivoli chimes in !

Have you looked through the include/exclude statements for errors?
