Re: Can 'Managed' Adwords client accounts get their own Developer Token ?

2011-10-04 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Phil, Emma,

As Danial pointed out earlier, it is against the AdWords API terms and
conditions to
- Request more than one developer token per company
- Asking your customers to signup for AdWords API and share their tokens
with you so that API calls get billed directly to their accounts.

The correct way to do things would be to use InfoService to figure out the
API usage per customer and pass that cost onto the advertiser.

Cheers,
Anash P. Oommen,
AdWords API Advisor

Re: Captcha-reqired

2011-10-04 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Kasia,

You get a captcha required error if you generate authtokens very frequently.
AuthTokens are long-lived, and so are expected to generate an authtoken once
and reuse it until it expires. See

 for
an article that discusses the best practices on using auth tokens.

Re: ReportService (v13) taking a very long time/timing out

2011-10-04 Thread Pete Lavetsky (AdWords API Guru)
It's been a roller coaster ride for months now trying to get completed
reports back in a timely manner. Against v13, I don't believe any

concentrated on getting cross client reporting ready for the v2011

That updated library is coming out soon I believe, so we kinda have

Units still being reported as being used event hough acess has been closed for nearly a month

2011-10-04 Thread Info SiteAttention
We had our developer token closed abrubtly without any prior notice almost a
month ago. It is really hurting our business and we have consistently tried
to contact Google to at least get a temporary access until matters have been
resolved - so far without any luck.

The developer token has been closed, but it still seems as if our tokens are
being used?? For example from oct. 1 - oct. 4 the system has registered
64,980API units used

According to the rate
sheet http://code.google.com/intl/da/apis/adwords/docs/ratesheet.html every
STATS will cost 6 api units. Eventhough we do make some STATS in our system
hoping our developer token will soon work again, it seems like a lot that we
have been used - is there any good explanation behind this?

BTW I also read the following article on searchengineland :

http://searchengineland.com/google-angers-adwords-api-developers-by-revoking-access-then-begins-to-provisionally-allow-access-again-93170

I would really like to hear from this Google representative who can grant us
provisional access again.

Best,

Jonas

Google API does not return first_page_cpc

Hi,

I run AdWordsPerformance report for the 03.10.
As a return I got keyword data with empty first_page_cpc field. In
AdWords interface, first page cpc was is displayed for this keyword.
Why is it so?
Does poor quality score of 2 has impact on that?

Get all my data

2011-10-04 Thread qa+nick.t...@viagogo.com
I'm looking for a bit direction, although if the problem has already been
solved, I'll happily put someone else's good work to use.

Anyway, my company wants all of their AdWords data available offline. Due to
having duplicate records on some listings, we need to make highly-informed
decisions about removing ads where multiple of ours may appear for the same
keyword.

To do this we want all of our data available offline and constantly
being synchronized.

We have 70 accounts, with millions of concurrent adverts, just to be clear.

My plan is to query the api and grab as much data as possible. Using the
sample clients, I am already off to a great start.

All help and guidance would come in very handy.

Re: Google API does not return first_page_cpc

2011-10-04 Thread jstedman
Hi,

What was the date range set to in the API report definition?

Sometimes the API gives you more precise control than the web
interface.

The low quality score could be causing your ad not to show on the
first page, which would result in no first page clicks for the time
period specified in the date range, causing your first page cpc to not
be populated in the report.

average position for clicks

2011-10-04 Thread timp
Greetings,

http://adwords.blogspot.com/2011/08/tracking-your-ad-position-with.html

So, while I can, (and, I am informed, will) be processing the urls for this
information, I'm wondering if you are soon, as in less than 2 months going
to add a field :

average_position_for_clicks

Or if there is a super secret play james bond song in head way of getting
this information from the Reports currently that I haven't discovered. :-)

Re: average position for clicks

2011-10-04 Thread jstedman
Tim,

An Ad Performance report with ClickType and AveragePosition should
aggregate the AveragePosition by ClickType.

Then just scale each ClickType row by Clicks and add them all together
and divide by total Clicks and you should have AveragePosition for
clicks.

This is obviously assuming alot, but it might work out.

Good luck!

Re: average position for clicks

Can I have verification from somebody within google that this is correct?

This would obviously be a much nicer solution for me than handling the url
stream.

Hi Chirag,

How are you specifying the OAuth information in the auth.ini file? (Make
sure you remove any sensitive information). How are you generating the
OAuth token?

Re: Use of auth.ini file

2011-10-04 Thread Chirag
Hi Eric,
I am specifying Oauth information like:

oauth_consumer_key = consumer_key
oauth_consumer_secret = consumer_secret
oauth_token = auth_token
oauth_token_secret = auth_secret

I am generating auth token as it is there in webapp.
// Request a new OAuth token.
$user-RequestOAuthToken($callbackUrl);

// Get authorization URL.
$authorizationUrl = $user-GetOAuthAuthorizationUrl();

// Upgrade to access token.
$verifier = $_REQUEST['oauth_verifier'];
$user-UpgradeOAuthToken($verifier);

Thanks,
Chirag

ReportDefinitionService: How to identify valid report column combination?

2011-10-04 Thread Sachin
Hi,

I am working on Google Adwords API v201101. Basically, I need to
generate reports using ReportDefinitionService.

I need help to identify/validate report column combinitions. Many
times it gives error of invalid combination of columns for some report
types, and I need to re-select columns.

So how do I identify the valid column combinations before generating
report?
Is there any set of rules or reference or list available which shows
valid column combinations for each report category?

And It would be great if you can suggest me best practice or way to
validate columns before generating report for avoiding such errors.

Best,
Sachin Patel

Re: ReportDefinitionService: How to identify valid report column combination?

2011-10-04 Thread jstedman
Sachin,

This page specifies all Report Columns in one place, it is very
useful:

http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/appendix/reports.html

The Notes: column in each table lists the restrictions on each field.
For instance:

Prevents zero-impression rows from being returned.

Not compatible with non-conversion stats (AverageCpc, Clicks, etc).

The Not compatible... one is probably what you are looking for, but
those tables are definitely worth knowing about.

Hope this helps!

Hi Chirag,

Are you getting the same error when you are running the UseOAuth.php
example? I'd double check that you are persisting the OAuth tokens
correctly between requests.
