Re: Reports dont match UI

2015-05-26 Thread Nadine Sundquist (AdWords API Team)
Hello Justin,

Due to a temporary issue, automated reports downloads in AdWords
incorrectly reported certain stats between Thursday, 21 May 2015 12:52 PM
and Saturday, 23 May 2015 12:22 AM Pacific Daylight Time. The issue has now
been fixed, and you will see correct stats if you download those reports
now.

The earliest you should have seen issues is the 21st of May.

Best,
Nadine, AdWords API Team

 Thanks

Re: Split costs by destination URL (+adgroup+keyword)

2015-05-26 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi Igor,

Setting sitelinks at the keyword level may work for your use case, but
you're going to wind up with a large number of duplicate sitelinks (one per
keyword), and there is a limit on the # of feed items per account
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/limits#feed. In
addition, the PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM_REPORT with a predicate on *IsSelfAction
= TRUE *will only show you impressions where the sitelink was clicked. For
impressions where a sitelink was not clicked, you'll have to use a
different report (e.g., the DESTINATION_URL_REPORT) with a predicate on
*ClickType
!= SITELINKS*.

Is there a view you've found in the user interface that gives you the
information you want, broken down in the way you want? Generally speaking,
if a given view is not available in the user interface, it won't be
available in the API.

I'll pass on your use case to the team working on the report for upgraded
URLs. Hopefully we can handle this better in that report once it's
available.

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Yes, I need particular sitelinks, not all sitelinks on keyword level.

Re: Updating Feed Attributes (related to Upgraded URLs)

2015-05-26 Thread Stacie Waleyko
Hi Josh,

Thanks for the detailed response. Agreed that the best way is to use the
attribute field mapping to figure out which placeholder field the attribute
corresponds to. We create all our extensions with feed services (we don't
use any extensions created by the AdWords UI/system) so it would have been
nice to maintain that level of consistency across accounts.

Thank you for the migration guide for extension settings. While we would
very much like to migrate to extension settings we have invested a lot of
energy in creating a system that works with feed services and currently do
not have the resources to migrate to extension settings. Hopefully we can
do this in the future. I was mainly looking for a guide to update sitelinks
using feed services (not extension settings) but I'm fairly certain that
doesn't exist.

Thanks again,

Stacie

Re: Get AdGroup-level extensions for specific AdGroup having its 'Id'

2015-05-26 Thread Michael Cloonan (AdWords API Team)
Hello,

Unfortunately, Location extensions aren't supported by the ExtensionSetting
services yet, although this support is planned in a future version of the
API. You will still need to use the old Feed-based services for fetching
Location extension information for now.

If you look at the documentation for the AdGroupExtensionSetting

Could you please let us know the step we can follow with some code sample

our MCC. From the earlier posts I read did not get the exact steps how to
get the values from the API call.

Re: Create Audience for an Ad or AdGroup or Campaign

2015-05-26 Thread Michael Cloonan (AdWords API Team)
Hello,

To associate a remarketing list with a Campaign or an Ad Group, you add
it as a criterion. You should use the CriterionUserList
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201502/AdGroupCriterionService.CriterionUserList

type for this. By adding a criterion of this type to your ad group or
campaign, you will restrict results to people who are on that list (i.e.
your audience).

Hello,

Please see our example on how to authenticate without using the auth.ini
file
https://github.com/googleads/googleads-php-lib/blob/master/examples/AdWords/Auth/CreateAdWordsUserWithoutIniFile.php.

If you are making an app that needs to modify multiple different customers,
this will be a more useful way to authenticate.

The refresh token and access tokens you get authenticate you as an MCC,
which gives you privileges to make changes or report on every child account
under that MCC. You do not need a new access/refresh token to make a call
against a different client account. You only need to specify the new Client
Customer ID.

Re: Search Query Perf. Report missing FinalUrls

2015-05-26 Thread Haluk Akin
+1 here.

We started switching to Final URLs and currently we are not finding enough
reporting levels for final urls.

Since destination urls are being retired, there is a need for
final_url_report just like there is destination_url_report.
And also finalurls needs to be added to all places where destination_url
already exists. Otherwise we won't be able to pull any meaningful reports
based on final urls.

Thanks.

Re: accountLimitType FEEDS_PER_ACCOUNT. More details....

2015-05-26 Thread Michael Cloonan (AdWords API Team)
Hello,

Our limits page documents API-specific limits, but the one you've run into
is an AdWords-wide limit (i.e. it also exists on the web interface). You
can read more about all the account limits on our support site
https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1704396. The specific limits
are down the page in a collapsible section.

You should only need 1 sitelink *feed* for all your ad groups. You can have
multiple *feed items* in an individual feed, and the limit for those is
significantly higher.

Is it not possible to create more than 100 unique sitelink's per 1

Re: AttributeValues in Placeholder Feed Item Report

2015-05-26 Thread Udo Gröbner
This problem becomes even more odd when having migrated some items to
upgraded urls. You might have Link URL on position 2 or final url/tracking

Or, if you don't have a description line at all, the final url might be on
position 2...
Is there really no way to determine, which field the value is supposed to
belong to?

Hi Santhos,

Check out our Migration to Upgraded URLs guide

 for
rules that you should follow when upgrading. There are also code examples
available in the guide. Without tracking params, it will be much simpler to

We also want to get rid of {ifmobile:} {ifnotmobile:} segments from
destination URLs and move appropriate segments to finalURL
finalMobileURL. I am wondering whether this would trigger a
URL_NOT_EQUIVALENT error . Can you please point me to documentation
section that indicates rules we should follow when using this API to
 upgrade ?

 current URL format:
http://{ifmobile:m.mysite.com}{ifnotmobile:www.mysite.com}

We do not add tracking params in creative URLs as of now, but have these
on keyword URLs. Tracking params will be moved to campaing tracking
templates after the upgrade. I am assuming that we still can use
AdUrlUpgrade API to upgrade creatives since creative URLs never had
tracking params. In other words, adwords url validator used for
AdUrlUpgrade doesn't use tracking templates in AdGroups , Campaign
 Account level.

I would appreciate if Adwords API team could confirm this strategy.

Re: Failed to create MobileImageAd, file_too_large

2015-05-26 Thread Nadine Sundquist (AdWords API Team)
Hi Branko,

The* MobileImageAd*s have a different maximum size than the *ImageAd*s.
Check out our page on maximum image sizes
https://support.google.com/adwords/editor/answer/57755?hl=en. At the
bottom of the page, you'll see the maximum for mobile image ads. For a
320x50 mobile image ad, the maximum is currently 7680 bytes.

Re: Get AdGroup-level extensions for specific AdGroup having its 'Id'

Thank you!

What about location extensions?
I don't see the extensionType listed in the documentation you mentioned.

 Hello,

If you look at the documentation for the AdGroupExtensionSetting
 https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201502/AdGroupExtensionSettingService.AdGroupExtensionSetting,

you can see that both adGroupId and extensionType are filterable. This
means that you can construct a request and specify a specific type of each
of these. You should make a Selector with a Predicate that includes both
these fields to get the extension settings that you want.

Re: Best way to import dynamic remarketing ads for display

2015-05-26 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi Gigel,

Have you tried using the DESTINATION_URL_REPORT
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports#destination-url?

In particular, the *EffectiveDestinationUrl* field should give you the
destination URL of the keyword that triggered the ad (if it has a
destination URL), else the destination URL of the ad.

Another option is the PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM_REPORT
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports#placeholder-feed-item
 with
a predicate on *IsSelfAction = TRUE*. This will show you stats by feed item
ID. The *IsSelfAction* filter will limit the data to impressions where the
feed item was actually clicked, not just shown. You can then look at the
*AttributeValues* field to see the URL of the feed item that corresponds to
your dynamic remarketing data.

Cheers,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Re: How to use adwords API to create mobile app installs campaign ?

2015-05-26 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi,

I wanted to clarify my previous reply. In AdWords, you can:

   1. Create a campaign that targets users who have a specific mobile app
installed. My previous reply covers this case.
   2. Create a *Mobile app installs* campaign that aims to promote installs
of your app. This is covered in our Driving Mobile App Downloads guide

https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/driving-mobile-app-downloads
   .

In addition, on option #2, some users are confused by the fact that when
you create a *Mobile app installs* campaign in the UI, it prompts your for
the mobile app that you are trying to promote, but this does *not actually
get saved as or translated to a criterion of type MobileApplication*.
Instead, it is saved with the campaign, but that attribute is *not
accessible from the API*, and merely serves as a convenience so that the UI
won't have to prompt you for the app again when you create each *TemplateAd*
.

In contrast, when using the API to build your *Mobile app installs* campaign,
you *must* specify the appId and appStore
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/templateads#flipcup_ad
 when
creating *each* *TemplateAd*, so there's no need to perform any additional
setup when creating the campaign.

Hope that clears things up for everyone.

Cheers,
Josh, AdWords API Team

 Hi,

Please check out our Criteria Usage page
 https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/criteria-usage,
 which shows:

- Whether you can target or exclude each criteria type at the
*CampaignCriterion* or *AdGroupCriterion* level
- Which campaign types support each criteria type

That page shows that you can only *exclude* *MobileApplication* criteria
at the campaign level, but you are attempting to *target*
*MobileApplication* criteria at the campaign level.

If you want to target a *MobileApplication* criterion, you should instead
set this up at the ad group level using an *AdGroupCriterion*. Note,
however, that this is only available if the campaign is a *Display
 Network only* campaign.
