RE: Is there an ETA for the next version release?

2019-03-20 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Mike,

You have the option to upgrade to the new Google Ads API v1
 since
the 201806 version of the AdWords API will indeed sunset soon. However, if
you feel like you are not yet ready for the v1 migration, you can choose to
upgrade

to the 201809

version

for now, and migrate to the v1 later. I hope this helps.

Thanks and regards,
Peter

Hi Isaiah,

So I can have a better look at the issue you are encountering, could you
provide to me the separate SOAP request and response logs that were
generated when you used the AdGroupAdService.get()

You may send your reply using the *Reply privately to author* option.

I get back 5 AdGroupAds.

When I query the AdService for the same account, I'm getting back 29

There are no other predicates or filters in play.

If I check the Ad ids returned by the AdGroupAdService, they are all
contained within the Ad Ids returned by the AdService. However, there are
24 "extra" ids being returned.

Additionally, if I log into this account (it's an account that we're
prototyping with). There are only 5 ads that I can see across all campaigns.

What are these additional 24 ads?

RE: Not able to pull historical_quality_score for Customer, AdGroup and Campaign

2019-03-20 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Greetings!

There's a rule that I had to get used to when first querying. You can go up
the tree from most specific to general, but you can't go down the tree. So,
if I select *FROM campaign*, I can't *select ad_group*. However, if I
select *FROM ad_group*, I can *select campaign*. So, to get what you need,
you would do this:

SELECT
campaign.id,
customer.id,
ad_group.id,
metrics.historical_quality_score
FROM
ad_group
LIMIT
100

Just to sanity check myself, I use the Query Builder

all

the time, especially with more complicated queries. I took this query and
built it using the Query Builder just to be sure that the syntax made sense.

Take care,

We've seen that for 4 customers now. The duplicates always related to the

| Day| Ad group ID | Criterion ID | Impressions | Interactions |
Conversions |

| 2017-03-02 | 15163513217 | 67659366416  | 513 |1 |
0 |

| 2017-03-02 | 15163513217 | 67659366416  |   2 |0 |
0 |

The field selection for the report corresponds to the columns seen here. The
criterion is a managed placement.

Is this expected behaviour? I would strongly prefer to be able to expect
report rows to be unique because duplicate detection on our side requires
significantly more resources (RAM/IO) when dealing with very large reports.

Thanks for your support!

RE: Best practice to process Big Data?

2019-03-20 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello Qaiser,

Could you please confirm if you are testing using the AdWords API or the
Google Ads API? If you are using AdWords API, you could run the report with
just the keyword and impression metrics by avoiding the segment fields.
This will help in reducing the size of the downloaded file. There is no
explicit limit to the rows the API can extract in one go. But if the report
is too big, the API may timeout
.
In such cases, you may need to group your campaigns to limit the number of
keywords in one report call. Additionally you can try to use the gzip

report data formats as well. One option maybe to use the labels

when you create the keyword to group them as 1 word keyword, 2 word keyword
etc. In your report, you could filter based on the labels instead of
campaigns.

If you are using Google Ads API, you should ideally be able to extract
bigger data-set without issues. It would still be recommended to use only
the required attributes and metrics in your call.

Hi,

Please suggest the quick way to process Google Ads Big Data.

Case Study:

Let's suppose there is an account having 1000 campaigns and 1 million
keywords.

I want to get account level insight that how many impressions are there for
keyword tail length like 1 word keyword, 2 word keyword up to 5 word
keyword. For example:

1 Word Keywords   =   x impressions
2 Words Keywords = x impressions
.
.
5+ Words Keywords = x impressions

For this type of analysis I have to get 1 million keywords in my local
database then process locally and make required result.

But this is very expensive call to get 1 million keywords.

What you suggest what is best practice?
OR
Can I process this huge dataset on Google Ads platform and get only
required row?

RE: [PHP] Google Ads - How to link an existing Google Adwords (or Ads) Account to my Google Ads MCC ?

2019-03-20 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello Jakub,

For the AdWords API

the

client libraries are available here
 and for
the Google Ads API
 the
client libraries available here
. Using
AdWords API you can try the ManagedCustomerService

and

can refer the Linking accounts section of this guide

for

more information about the ManagedCustomerService.

If you are using the Google Ads API, you should use
CustomerClientLinkService.MutateCustomerClientLink

service.

Below is the code sample to extend the invitation to the client account in
Java. Since the examples are not available in out client libraries I can
provide sample in Java only at this point of time. You can try the similar
steps in PHP to extend the invitation. Likewise you have to update the
ManagerLinkStatus to ACTIVE from the client account to accept the
invitation.

Code Snippet Below in Java to extend the invitation to the client account
from the manager account:

private void runExample(
GoogleAdsClient googleAdsClient, long customerId) {
try (CustomerClientLinkServiceClient customerClientLinkServiceClient =
googleAdsClient.getCustomerClientLinkServiceClient())
{
  //Creating resource name for customer
  String customerResourceName =
ResourceNames.customer(123456789L);//the client account to which you are
expanding the invitation.

  //Creating customerClientLink object
  CustomerClientLink customerClientLink =
CustomerClientLink.newBuilder()
 .setClientCustomer(StringValue.of(customerResourceName))
 .setStatus(ManagerLinkStatus.PENDING)
 .build();

 //creating operation for the mutate request
 CustomerClientLinkOperation operation =
CustomerClientLinkOperation.newBuilder()
 .setCreate(customerClientLink)
 .build();

 // Send the operation in a mutate request.
MutateCustomerClientLinkResponse response =
customerClientLinkServiceClient.mutateCustomerClientLink("18xx17",
operation);// Your manager account Id should be placed in the mutate call.
// Print the resource name of each updated object.
System.out.println(response.getResult());
}
}

Please elaborate if you have any further questions.

Sai Teja, Google Ads API Team

getCampaigns.java returns an empty list. might be an account problem.

2019-03-20 Thread mktt . sa . dev1

I encountered a problem while i was getting started to use Ads API.
The getCampaings example is not working as i expected.

I, my Company has an google ads MCC account, say ACCNT_A, that has several
sub_accounts,
and each of the sub-accounts has valid campaigns.

And i created a dev account ACCNT_B, and made a link to ACCNT_A. ( ACCNT_A
sent an invitation to ACCNT_B)
Access level of ACCNT_B was shown as "Standard" in "toos" manue of ACCNT_A
I then confirmed that ACCNT_B could access all of ads in ACCNT_A and it
sub-accounts, via Web site.

For API use,
I created developer token in ACCNT_B , and credentials, and executing
getCampaings was working without Exceptions.
But, it returns an empty campaign list, as below

I tried ACCNT_A and ACCNT_B for the CUSTOMER_ID property, returns the same,
empty list without exceptions.

when i tried with sub_accounts of ACCNT_A, in which campaigns are actually
registered, permission error occurs as below.
 Error 0: error_code {

So, please tell me what was the problem?
Do i need to get permissions to each of sub_accounts?
or, was there anything wrong my account usage?

Google Ads Scripts: Using Impression Top and Absolute Top

2019-03-20 Thread Todd Gardner
How do I access *Impression (Top)%* and *Impression (Absolute Top)%* from
Google Ads Scripts? They do not appear to be documented in the Keyword
Reference.

I currently use Google Ads script to adjust my keyword bidding based on
AveragePosition. However, with AveragePosition being retired this year
 in favor of
Impression (Top) and Impression (Absolute Top) metrics, I need to switch
over. These new fields are visible in the UI and in the Rule builder, but I
cannot find them in the scripting reference.

Mismatched Data From AdGroupAdService And AdService

2019-03-20 Thread isaiah
I'm using the ruby adwords_api gem to query an Google Ads account.

When I query the AdGroupAdService to get all AdGroupAds with a predicate
that looks like this:
[{ :field => 'Status', :operator => 'IN', :values => ['ENABLED',
'DISABLED', 'PAUSED'] }]
I get back 5 AdGroupAds.

When I query the AdService for the same account, I'm getting back 29
distinct Ads.

RE: How to use the Google Ads API using REST Only

2019-03-20 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello,

You could try using the Method:
google.ads.googleads.v1.services.CustomerService/ListAccessibleCustomers
and Endpoint: googleads.googleapis while trying your RESTful call. You have
to pass the OAuth credentials the same way you pass for other RESTful API
calls. You could refer this API call structure

for

reference.

Also, below is the CURL request In case you want to take a look.

curl --header "Authorization: Bearer ACCESS_TOKEN_HERE" --header
"developer-token: DEVELOPER_TOKEN_HERE"
https://googleads.googleapis.com/v1/customers:listAccessibleCustomers

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello Peter,

Poki replied to you privately 2 weeks ago. Looks like the login-customer-id
is not set when she took a look at your logs. One option you would try is
setting loginCustomerId programmatically when you construct your
GoogleAdsClient as shown below:

googleAdsClient = GoogleAdsClient.newBuilder().fromPropertiesFile().
  setLoginCustomerId(2048921294L).build();

If that works, then the issue lies with the configuration file.

@Ananth,

Glad you solved the issue. While adding the LoginCustomerId we should make
sure there are no spaces and no dashes in the ID.

Hello Mikhail,

Thank you for the translated message. Could you please confirm if you're
using AdWords API or the Google Ads API to generate the reports? If you're

Re: Duplicate rows in placement performance report

2019-03-20 Thread Oliver
We're also seeing this issue in the Placement Performance Report i.e. 2
rows for the same placement (in same camapign ID). However, in our case,
both rows don't have a criterion ID which, according to the documentation
of this report, mean that both rows are automatic placements. We're
puzzled as to why the 2 rows are not aggregated as per the documentation?

Re: How to GetUserList using Googld ads api ?

2019-03-20 Thread Sarah
Hi Dannison,

Referring to the GetCampaigns.cs, I've worked out the code below. I like
the flexibility of using GoogleAdsService queries -
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/query/overview, which is
more relevant to my project than using UserListService.

  GoogleAdsServiceClient googleAdsService =
_adsClient.GetService(Services.V1.GoogleAdsService);
  string query = $@"SELECT user_list.id, user_list.name,
user_list.membership_status FROM user_list
 WHERE user_list.name = '{audienceName}'
 ORDER BY user_list.id DESC ";

  SearchGoogleAdsRequest request = new SearchGoogleAdsRequest()
  {
PageSize = PAGE_SIZE,
Query = query,
CustomerId = customerId.ToString()
  };

PagedEnumerable searchPagedResponse
= googleAdsService.Search(request);
return (long)searchPagedResponse.FirstOrDefault()?.UserList.Id;

Thanks very much for your help.

Best Regards
Sarah

Re: [PHP] Google Ads - How to link an existing Google Adwords (or Ads) Account to my Google Ads MCC ?

2019-03-20 Thread Kuba Dev
Hi Everyone !

I am facing the same problem with Ads Api.

I have created new account X under My manager account Y.
I would like to link random new user with ads account Z to my newly created
account X.

But that way I should be able to manage account X as manager and also user
will see this account X under his manager account Z.

is it possible?

Do somebody know the code in PHP for that operation?
Also what library should I use the AdWords Api or Ads Api ?

Re: ExtensionSettingError.CONCRETE_EXTENSION_TYPE_REQUIRED in callout extension setting

2019-03-20 Thread Sang Jin Kim

I found the reason.

In the process of updating to v201809, I didn't update one library like
below.

use Google\AdsApi\AdWords\*v201806*\cm\CalloutFeedItem;

After correcting v201806 to v201809, it works fine.

I'm sorry for bothering you, Luis.

Best practice to process Big Data?

2019-03-20 Thread Qaiser Javed

Regards,
Qaiser

Google Ads API V1: Where is final_url_suffix for AdGroupAd?

2019-03-20 Thread Sergei Kim
Hi Team,

New shiny JSON API V1 is production ready, but we can't get/mutate some
fields for Ad object using GoogleAds:search: final_url_suffix,
final_app_urls. We need to get and mutate this field for proper integration
(instead of tracking_url_template and final_urls). When are you planning to
add these fields?

Many thanks,
Sergei Kim

Ads API V1 not using proxy settings

2019-03-20 Thread Eva
Hi,

I am trying to migrate from AdWords API 201809 to V1, but I am unable to
run a query, because proxy settings are not used.
I am using the .NET libraries (NuGET-Package Google.Ads.GoogleAds v1.0.0).

Proxy settings are configured, but no request is sent to the proxy server.
The requests are sent directly (which will then be blocked by a firewall).

Is that a problem with the .NET library?

Types of reports

2019-03-20 Thread Mikhail Romantsov
Good day!

I am a Russian user. The text below is the result of Google Translator :)

The question is this.

Google Ads report types have a large number of different reports with which
you can get absolutely any data from the advertising cabinet.
However, a large number of parameters can be obtained only in the types of
reports specially reserved for them.
For example: there is no possibility to get data on campaigns, key phrases,
gender, age, visitor devices (well, and, respectively, clicks, impressions,
conversions) within one table.

Either I do not know something, or this opportunity is really missing.
It's just that it’s strange, because absolutely any reports with any set of
parameters and indicators can be generated in the advertising cabinet, but
not in the API.
I understand that the API interface is completely different, but if in the
Google Ads office there is such an opportunity, does this mean that the
statistics are on the same level?

Well, I really want to perform similar requests on the API and get all the
necessary data within the same table.

Thanks for attention.

_original_text_

Google Ads
такая возможность имеется, не значит ли это что данные статистики лежат на
одном уровне?

Ну очень хочется выполнять подобные запросы по API и получать все
необходимые данные в рамках одной таблицы.

Спасибо за внимание.

How to add device(desktop,mobile,tablet) bid modifiers at campaign level in Ads API Beta

2019-03-20 Thread Christoph Lanz
Hello,

I am trying to create a mobile and tablet bid modifier at campaign level,
using the new Ads API Beta. I used the example "AddAdGroupBidModifier.php"
from the examples library and tried to modify it to do the same function at
campaign level, but I receive an error message.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Or is there any further documentation
or an example to see how to build the request?

Many thanks in advance,

Christoph

$CampaignBidModifier = new CampaignBidModifier([

Re: Plausibility of automated monthly account backups through API?

2019-03-20 Thread Dorian Kind
Hi David,

we were facing the same challenge. As backing up accounts over the API
doesn't seem feasible, we currently use a dedicated host which runs an
AutoHotkey script every day to download and export a couple hundred
accounts in the Adwords Editor. The script then uploads the .aea files to a
cloud storage provider. While this solution isn't completely satisfactory,
it generally runs reliably and only requires manual intervention if there's
an update to the Adwords Editor.

Best regards,
Dorian

RE: Targeting Idea

2019-03-20 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi,

Stats and ideas can be retrieved through different requests. You can refer
to this section

for

retrieving ideas, and for stats, you will just need to replace the
RequestType = IDEAS with RequestType = STATS

.

As for changing the location, you can specify a different location criteria
ID and you can refer to our geo targeting spreadsheet
 for
the available locations that you can use. You may then add those locations
through the LocationSearchParameter

and

send those along with your request. The sample code for using the
TargetingIdeaService can be found here

.

Let me know if this helps and if you encounter any issues, you may send to
me the SOAP request and response logs, privately via the *Reply privately
to author* option, so I can take a closer look.

Thanks and regards,
Peter

RE: How to GetUserList using Googld ads api ?

2019-03-20 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Sarah,

You can retrieve the UserList Ids by using the UserListService.GetUserList

and get UserList.id
.
My apologies as there are no sample codes available right now that I can
provide. However, you may refer to the GetCampaigns.cs

guide on how to use the get operation.

The above is my C# code to get an audience Id calling AdWords API - this
works fine no problem.

I'm now migrating our integration to Google Ads API. Can you please provide
a sample code that do the same as the above ? I couldn't find one.

Thanks.
