RE: how to create app campaign using google ads api

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Kim,

Thank you for reaching out in this forum.

The reason you are encountering an error in creating app campaigns in Google
Ads API is probably because you are not yet whitelisted for this feature.
Creating and managing of app campaigns is only available for whitelisted
customers as stated in this guide.

Can you confirm if you have already been whitelisted? If not, you may contact
your Google representative to assist you with the whitelisting. You may refer
to this blog post for more details.

Resource user_locations_view doesn't exist

2019-07-03 Thread Nathan
Hello!

Per the documentation
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v2/user_location_view),
there's supposed to be a *user_location_view* resource.

However, any attempt to query this results in an error:

QUERY: *SELECT customer FROM user_location_view*

RESULT: *Error in user_location_view: is not a valid resource name.*

Help?

RE: Google Ads API back to Beta - Migration

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Peter,

The Google Ads API is committed to delivering information with high data
integrity. We decided to put the Google Ads API back into "beta" mode due to
performance concerns, not data integrity issues. Google Ads API is not going
away and we are committed to it. During the "beta" phase, we will focus on
delivering a much better performing Google Ads API to meet your and your
customers’ needs. We recommend to continue running production systems using the
AdWords API. While Google Ads API is in “beta”, you may use the new API for
testing and development work in preparation for future migration. Please keep
in mind that during this "beta" phase, there may be breaking changes in the
Google Ads API.

The deprecation nor the sunset date has not been set yet. Once the product
exits “beta”, we will announce the deprecation date and the sunset date will be
at least 1 year after Google Ads API reaches feature parity with AdWords API.

Let me know if you have any concerns.

Thank you for reaching support. It is possible to apply placement exclusion
list programmatically at account level using CustomerNegativeCriterionService

there is no such deadline identified for sunsetting AdWords API yet?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the detailed explanation. At any given time, the client account

RE: Ad Extension type Location GMB through the API google_ads_php

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello Adrian,

We do not have the documentation available to create Location Extensions
through Ads API. You may follow the same steps as in AdWords API to implement
the Location Extensions in Ads API. The FeedService will create the Location
Feed and then use the CustomerFeedService to associate the customer to the Feed
created. Could you please give this a try and let us know if you have any
issues?

With Google Ads API going back to beta as per this blog post

has the sunset date for the AdWords API been pushed back indefinitely? If
not, can you please confirm what the sunset date for the AdWords API is?

Thanks in advance!

RE: How to add a keyword to negative keyword list using Google Ads API using SDK?

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello Oleksandr,

You may use the SharedCriterionService to add the keyword to the negative
keyword list created at the account level. You will need to include the
shared_set and the Keyword Id in the mutate request. The code sample available
here should be helpful to get started.

Please let me know if you face any issues.

Re: Adwords Batch Jobs CANCELED or INTERNAL_ERROR

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Richard,

I looked into our logs and spoke with the batch jobs team, and the jobs in
question timed out because they were taking too long to complete. We took a
look at your operations and noticed that you have many instances of the
following pattern of operations:

Create ad group 1
Create an ad in ad group 1
Create ad group criteria in ad group 1
Create ad group 2
Create an ad in ad group 2
Create ad group criteria in ad group 2
and so on...

Instead of this approach, please group your operations according to operation
type as recommended in the best practices section of our guide . For example,
the following would be a much more efficient approach for the sequence above:

Create ad group 1
Create ad group 2
...
Create ad in ad group 1
Create ad in ad group 2
...
Create ad group criteria in ad group 1
Create ad group criteria in ad group 2
...

Re: Linking account with Manager Account in Google Ads API

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello Amerender,

Thanks for sharing the ids. I was able to confirm that the emails shared has
access to the client accounts shared. Since we are seeing Permission denied
error the reason could be one of the 2 mentioned below.

Even though the OAuth credentials are from the respective users having access
to those client accounts, If you are setting an MCC ID that is not yet the
manager of these accounts as login-customer-id in your API call you may see
this error. To avoid this you have to set the login-customer-id as the same
client id or blank while accepting the invitation.
If it is not the above reason then you may try creating new set of OAuth
credentials and make sure the API call is made with those credentials while
making accepting invitation call.

Please note that each email address has access to one account only so if you
are creating fresh OAuth have to create a set for each email address.

Re: Issue setting bid strategy through API differs from UI

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello,

The manual_cpm type doesn't have any parameters. You simply have to instantiate
one like you would any other resource and then attach it to the campaign. I'm
not an expert at the Python library, but from looking at other examples it
looks like it would be something like this:

campaign.manual_cpm = client.get_type(ManualCpm, version=v1)

Let me know if this works for you.

Geo Report pulled from API not matching UI

2019-07-03 Thread Chris
Hello,
I currently have a Geo report in Google Ads UI that I created. I wrote my
own search query to hit Google Ads API. I used the same fields that my Geo
report has in the UI. When I compare the aggregations the numbers do not
match. The UI is showing larger numbers for Cost,
Impressions, Interactions, and Views. I'll be happy to post additional
information. Please let me know what I need to share. Thanks!

Re: How to get Ad group final URL suffix from Google Ads API

2019-07-03 Thread Акулов Алексей
I find following way how to get Ad group final URL suffix from Google Ads
API.
Along with keyword performance (or any other report I need) I will need to
retrieve ADGROUP_PERFORMANCE_REPORT, including following
columns: 'CampaignName','AdGroupName','FinalUrlSuffix'.
FinalUrlSuffix on ADGROUP_PERFORMANCE_REPORT level will nothing more that
Ad group final URL suffix.
Then I can map this data to any other Google Ads report based on
'CampaignName','AdGroupName'.

If you have any other approaches - welcome to describe those.

Re: Google Ads API get reporting of performance data error

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello,

I'm sorry for misunderstanding.
Upon investigation, I got a similar error (though not exactly the same), which
I can resolve by turning on the "C implementation" of Protobuf extension.

In particular, the PHP client library depends on the gRPC and protobuf, as
written in README .
If you follow the "Protobuf Runtime library" section of this page , you will
probably install this C implementation of Protobuf already.
Could you use "php -i | grep protobuf" to check if you have this installed?
If not yet, could you try installing it and try again?

Best,
Thanet, Google Ads API Team

Yes, you still would not be able to apply the TargetRoasBiddingScheme to your

Need help using Query API for python to display age_range and gender_type

2019-07-03 Thread Vinutha Nayak
Hi ,

I am trying to generate a report capturing gender, age For some reason all
are being displayed as 0.

I am using *google ads API* and trying the same in *python*. Can anyone
quickly point out what is going wrong ?

Following is the query :

query2 = (

' SELECT campaign.name, campaign.id, campaign.start_date, campaign.end_date, '
' campaign_criterion.gender.type,campaign_criterion.age_range.type,
campaign_criterion.proximity.radius '
' FROM campaign_criterion '
' LIMIT 100')

printing it as follows :

print(
' Campaign name : "%s" , Campaign id : "%s" , Campaign start date
: "%s" , Campaign end date : "%s" '
' Gender_type : "%s" , Age_range_type : "%s" , Radius : "%s" '
   % (campaign.name.value, campaign.id.value, campaign.start_date.value,
campaign.end_date.value,
   campcrit.gender.type, campcrit.age_range.type,
campcrit.proximity.radius.value))

I think since they are ones with a set of response values as in age ranges and
Gendertypes, they need to be handled differently while reading the response.

Can anyone quickly point out the mistake and correct me please ?

Thanks and Regards,

Vinutha Nayak

Inaccurate costs when querying geographic_view

2019-07-03 Thread Nathan
My understanding of geographic_view is that it reproduces the Ads
"Geographic" report. I'm trying to reproduce this report per "United States
(Postal Code)" view.

My test query is below. This specific query drills into the performance of
1 test US postal code (geoTargetConstants/9007313)

Am I misunderstanding this? The metrics returned are significantly
different than what's displayed in the UI.

SELECT
campaign.id, segments.geo_target_postal_code,
metrics.all_conversions, metrics.clicks, metrics.ctr, metrics.ctr,
metrics.impressions, metrics.cost_micros, metrics.interactions,
metrics.average_cost,
metrics.average_cpc,
metrics.clicks,
metrics.conversions, metrics.all_conversions, metrics.cost_per_conversion
FROM geographic_view
where campaign.id=$CAMPAIGN_ID
and segments.date >= '2019-06-01' AND segments.date < '2019-07-01' and
segments.geo_target_postal_code='geoTargetConstants/9007313'

Google Ads API V2, video_ad field missing for the ad_group_ad.

2019-07-03 Thread Bruce
Hi All,

I have some problems when using Google Ads API v2 GAQL to list the
ad_group_ad under my account.
According to the document here
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/google.ads.googleads.v2.resources#google.ads.googleads.v2.resources.Ad
:

Union field ad_data. Details pertinent to the ad type. Exactly one value
> must be set. ad_data can be only one of the following

If the ad is VIDEO_AD, I should get the video_ad field correctly. But most
of the video ads do not have that field.

Here is the query I used:

SELECT ad_group.id,
  ad_group_ad.ad.id,
  ad_group_ad.ad.video_ad.media_file,
  ad_group_ad.ad.video_ad.in_stream.action_button_label,
  ad_group_ad.ad.video_ad.in_stream.action_headline,
  ad_group_ad.ad.video_ad.in_stream.companion_banner,
  ad_group_ad.ad.video_ad.out_stream.headline,
  ad_group_ad.ad.video_ad.out_stream.description,
  ad_group_ad.status
  FROM ad_group_ad
  WHERE ad_group_ad.ad.type = VIDEO_AD

Best way to programmatically "pause" a Campaign location

2019-07-03 Thread Nathan
Hello!

I know pausing a location isn't possible, but what's the closest way to
approximate this?

We have a campaign that's targeted to multiple locations (DMAs). My
requirement is to pragmatically activate/deactivate the location criteria
based on budget/spend. For example, on day 1 our campaign is targeted to
the Orlando DMA and Tampa DMA; when Orlando hits $10, "pause" that location
in the campaign.

Originally I tried just removing that location. But once the Orlando
location is removed, that criteria seems to go missing from all queries
(it's as if the Orlando location criteria never existed). This means when
our system re-examines the campaign, it concludes that $0 has been spent on
Orlando, and it decides to re-add the campaign (to hit the $10 budget).

I need to "pause" it while preserving the ability to see that $10 was spent
on this location. How can this be achieved?

Timeline for the Google Ads API change

2019-07-03 Thread 'Peeraya' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

I just saw the announcement on the blog that the Google Ads API is reverted
back to Beta and wonder what the timeline is for bringing the API back to
production and also for the deprecation of the old AdWords API. We just
started working on a new project using the Google Ads API and this
information would help us make a decision on whether to switch back to the
AdWords API or stay with developing using the Google Ads API.

Regards,
Peeraya

Google Ads API back to Beta - Migration

2019-07-03 Thread Peter Lanser
Hi,

as we are currently working on the migration to the new Google Ads API we
would need clarification on the following points:

- Is the API (the interface itself, client libraries) considered to be
stable enough to continue this migration work?
- What does this mean for the deprecation schedule of the Adwords API
v201809?

Regards,
Peter

Re: How to change change bidding strategy from Manual CPC to Target ROAS via Adword API

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Faizan,

Could you confirm which exact step in this guide you are encountering an issue
with? You can refer to this sample code (also available in other languages) on
how to create your conversion tracker.

Additionally, I would like to note that the eligibility requirements for using
the TargetRoasBiddingScheme would not be met when using test accounts as one of
its conditions is that your Search or Display campaigns should already have at
least 15 conversions in the past 30 days.

Thanks and regards,

RE: Transient OAUTH_TOKEN_INVALID error

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Jerry,

Thank you for reaching out.

The error OAUTH_TOKEN_INVALID is encountered when the OAuth access token in the
header is not valid. Could you confirm if the first few API calls you made were
successful (meaning no issues were reflected in the results)? I would also
appreciate if you provide the complete SOAP request and response logs for
better investigation. You may use the reply privately to author option.

RE: Negative conversions in CAMPAIGN_LOCATION_TARGET_REPORT?!

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi,

Thank you for posting your concern.

The Conversions field of Campaign Location Target Report should not return
negative values. Because of this, I tried to impersonate the report on my end
my using the fields and the report type that you provided. However, I wasn't
able to replicate the issue as the report did not return any negative values
for Conversions field. With this, could you provide sample report generated on
your end where I can see the issue via Reply privately to author option?

RE: Unable to create CriterionUserList - Adwords API

2019-07-03 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Sanjay,

I had to edit your initial post as it contains sensitive information regarding
your account. You may check out our forum posting guidelines to avoid exposing
such information.

Moving forward, it appears that you are using the SET operator when creating
the CampaignCriterion. Could you use the ADD operator instead and retry your
request? For SET requests, the ID would be required as it is used for updating
entities.

Thanks and regards,
