Re: Find the original asset when getting error: CANNOT_MODIFY_ASSET_NAME when uploading duplicate image

Hi,

I faced the same issue and it was resolved after I installed API v10.
Images having a name can be recognized when uploaded to account and the
same image is exist in this account. But I think there is still an issue
with unnamed images. If an image existing in account has no name and same
image is uploaded, it's not recognized and the error:
"NAME_REQUIRED_FOR_ASSET_TYPE*" *is thrown. Tried to pass empty name but it
doesn't help. Please advise...

Re: UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR

2022-02-24 Thread Outleads Team
Noted about the request ID, we were unaware of the sensitive nature of this
field.

We are aware of the Ads API as well as the sunset schedule. We're working
tirelessly on migrating our software to the new API but we were counting on
the AdWords API to be functional until the sunset date, especially since
the client in question is one of the world's most well-known companies.

Until we're ready to redirect the request to the Ads API, is there anything
else that could be done?

2022-02-24 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hello there,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API support. Could you please give us
more details about your concern?
Please note the API can only be a conduit for the product as expressed in the
UI. For better understanding, could you please give us an example of report
definition from your end or please share a full screen screenshot of the UI to
indicate which advertising specific activities you are referring to via API?

In the meantime, please refer to this article regarding how to edit your local

Re: CampaignAsset resource interaction_on_this_asset parameter

2022-02-24 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Arshdeep,

campaign_asset can be segmented by ad_group, that will show metrics for assets
linked at campaign level only broken down by which ad group it served with.
This will not report on assets when linked at ad group level. For reporting on
assets linked at ad group level you can use ad_group_asset.

Regarding incompatible fields, note that the API can only be a conduit to the
Ads product as exposed in the UI. Could you privately send us a full screen
screenshot of the UI where these fields are compatible? You may reach out to
product support for assistance and requests. Once it's available in the UI we
may be able to offer it.

'metrics.interactions' has a specific meaning that doesn't have to do with
which asset was interacted with. Product support can explain it and here's an
example.

Re: Unable to create campaign from test manager account

2022-02-24 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Libsys,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

With regards to your concern, you’ve encountered ‘USER_PERMISSION_DENIED'
error. The ‘USER_PERMISSION_DENIED’ usually occurs due to incorrectly setting
the 'login-customer-id’ in the request or not specifying login-customer-id in
the request. Note that when a user doesn't have permission to access a customer
and you’re accessing a client customer then the manager's customer ID must be
set in the 'login-customer-id’ in the header request.

To resolve this, you will need to ensure that your OAuth2 credentials were
generated while logged in as the user / email address that has access to the
customer ID in your request. Also, if the said user / email address is one that
has access to the MCC / manager of the customer account, then you may specify
the MCC / manager account's ID as the login-customer-id. Let me know if you
have any question.

Thanks,

Invalid Customer ID when Mutating Campaign Budget

Hi,

I am trying to update the amount on a campaign budget on a test account. I
am getting an error when calling MutateCampaignBudgets that the customerID
in the CampaignBudget object is invalid.

request: {{ "customerId": "*LoginCustomerID*", "operations": [ { "update":
{ "resourceName": "customers/*AccountID*/campaignBudgets/*BudgetID*",
"amountMicros": "200" }, "updateMask": "amountMicros" } ] }}

error: {{ "errors": [ { "errorCode": { "requestError":
"INVALID_CUSTOMER_ID" }, "message": "Invalid customer ID '*AccountID*'.",
"location": { "fieldPathElements": [ { "fieldName": "operations", "index":
0 }, { "fieldName": "update" }, { "fieldName": "resource_name" } ] } } ],
"requestId": "---xt43kuAiLy6BcGzM7aw" }}

Could someone provide me with some more information on why this is failing?

Listing customer ids

2022-02-24 Thread Kavya Bharathappa
Hi there,

I am looking for a way to list the customer ids that come under a account
(one used for generating oauth tokens). Following the google ads docs I
found that calling the API endpoint
https://googleads.googleapis.com/v10/customers:listAccessibleCustomers, I
get resource names that come under the account used for oauth (in my case
it returned one resource name that being the oauth account itself). As a
next step I am asked to follow the account hierarchy guide to get to the
customer ids using the query. As I do not use a standard client library nor
I found one suitable for the programming language I use in the backend
(elixir), I am quite unsure which Public API am I supposed to call to get
the account hierarchy. Any help in this matter is much appreciated.
Regards, Kavya

Re: Updated Needed Regarding PHONE_NUMBER_IN_AD_TEXT Error

2022-02-24 Thread Pete Lavetsky (AdWords API Guru)
Yasar,

I already did ask this question via that link :
https://support.google.com/google-ads/thread/151964091?hl=en=152022694

I was told it is primarily a peer-to-peer community :
https://support.google.com/google-ads/thread/151964091?hl=en=152022694

I was also told that my best course of action is to get my clients to
create Ad text so that "$60,167" does not look like a phone number:

"otherwise, the best likely course is to use values that are less likely
to be mistaken for, or do not look like, phone-numbers, in any way,
with respect to google's machine-learning-systems."

Google has a broken product and no one at Google is willing to put in the
work to fix it.

Based on what I understood from your last response, *metrics.interactions
*should
be compatible with *segments.asset_interaction_target.interaction_on_this_asset
*otherwise how does it qualifies the example you gave above?

But running in query validator (query result here)

https://gaql-query-builder.uc.r.appspot.com/v9/share?q=SELECT%20campaign_asset.campaign%2C%20metrics.interactions%2C%20metrics.interaction_rate%2Csegments.asset_interaction_target.interaction_on_this_asset%20FROM%20campaign_asset%20WHERE%20campaign_asset.status%20%3D%20'ENABLED'%20%20AND%20segments.date%20BETWEEN%20%222022-01-01%22%20AND%20%222022-01-31%22

I get the following errors

   - Result: Invalid Query (errors below)
  - 'segments.asset_interaction_target.interaction_on_this_asset' is
  incompatible with 'metrics.interactions'.
  - 'segments.asset_interaction_target.interaction_on_this_asset' is
  incompatible with 'metrics.interaction_rate'.

Is that a bug or a reason for this combination getting deprecated?

Looking forward for your response,
Thanks.

"Page token has expired" error occurred when using GoogleAdsService API

2022-02-24 Thread Jisoo Song
Hello,
I'm a data engineer for Madup, Inc. I have a question about
GoogleAdsService API.

I've tried to download an 'ad_group_criterion' report using google ads
python library (v7).
Due to the volume of the data, it takes a couple of hours, but it always
fails with "Page token has expired" error.

Here's a response I've got:

Method: /google.ads.googleads.v7.services.GoogleAdsService/Search
Host: googleads.googleapis.com

I read the other discussions
 so I tried to
download with page_size as 1, but it fails again.
One weird thing is that the 'page token has expired' error occurs *exactly*
4 hours after the first request is sent.
>From the above discussion, page_token is valid for 2 hours, but it's not
related to this case because I processed every page in 7~10 secs and
re-requested the next page. (Furthermore, I got the error after 4 hours
from the first request, not 2 hours.)

I also tried to use 'search_stream' instead of 'search' for test on my
locals, but I got an rpc error while pulling data. I think it's because of
the unstable network. So I'm trying to test on our cloud infra. If it works
well, I'd like to use search_stream, but anyway I'm curious why I've got
that page token error.

Thanks!

RE: RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED error with standard access

2022-02-24 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hello Inessa,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API support. The RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED
error usually occurs when you are sending too many requests in a short period
of time. The server throws this error once it detects that your request has
exceeded the system frequency limit. That said, I would recommend setting up
short delays between requests or combining more operations in fewer requests.
Please refer to the Best practices guide to optimize the efficiency and
performance.
You may also experience this error if you have already exceeded the daily
(1,000 requests) quota for GET requests for All developer tokens, including
those with Standard Access. Please refer to this documentation for the quota
values you need to consider daily when performing requests using the API.

If the issue persists, please share the complete update request and response
logs with the request-id, so that our team may take a closer look. Please send
via the Reply privately to the author option while sharing the details.

Best regards,

Jakeia Sabrina

But this is definitely not the case, as we are uploading recent Click IDs.
These Click IDs were produced within the last 24 hours.

Hi Hustle,

Thank you for the replies.

I would like to give an idea of what is click through lookback window days.
This means the maximum number of days which may elapse between an impression
and a conversion without an interaction and the maximum number of days is 90.
With this, the GCLID that you want to upload is older than 90 days, I'm afraid
that you will no longer be able to upload it. If you try to upload this GCLID
then you will encounter the said error.

Campaign Budget Data Type Issue-Ads API

2022-02-24 Thread Saurabh Suman
Hi Team,
Earlier in Adwords API we received campaign Budget in *Long *format
and we used to retrieve it as below . But now while migrating to Ads API we
are unable to save the campaign budget due to data type mismatch as Ads
API is returning *String*. Please suggest.

*Adwords API*
campaign.getBudget().getAmount().getMicroAmount()

*Ads API*
campaign.getCampaignBudget()

Thanks,
Saurabh

thx. Is this feature request scheduled already? Is there rough time frame
you can provide? We would really need as soon old Adwords API will be

upload click conversions using python client - can't supply data for one field

2022-02-24 Thread Arne Caratti
Hi support Team,

I'm trying to upload offline click conversions, based roughly on [this
snippet](https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/samples/upload-offline-conversion).

It's working ok, but I don't know how to set conversion_custom_variable_id,
and conversion_custom_variable_value, so the API is responding this to me
when I leave it blank:

Response: partial_failure_error {
  code: 3
  message: "This conversion action is configured to use an external
attribution model, but the external attribution credit or one of its fields
is not set., at conversions[0].external_attribution_data"
  details {
type_url:
"type.googleapis.com/google.ads.googleads.v9.errors.GoogleAdsFailure"
value: "\n\307\001\n\003\370\006\r\022\217\001This conversion action is
configured to use an external attribution model, but the external
attribution credit or one of its fields is not
set.\".\022\017\n\013conversions\030\000\022\033\n\031external_attribution_data"
  }
}

>From the management account and conversations with colleagues, I've learned
that for the conversion_action I'm talking to an external model is set up,
probably by the name of "Fractional Credit". If I set that as the
conversion_custom_variable_id, and pass something plausible as a
conversion_custom_variable_value along with it, I get this result:

Response: partial_failure_error {
  code: 3
  message: "Resource name \'Fractional Credit\' is malformed: expected
\'customers/{customer_id}/conversionCustomVariables/{ConversionCustomVariable.conversion_custom_variable_id}\'.,

at conversions[0].custom_variables[0].conversion_custom_variable"
  details {
type_url:
"type.googleapis.com/google.ads.googleads.v9.errors.GoogleAdsFailure"
value: "\n\211\002\n\002\010\004\022\246\001Resource name \'Fractional
Credit\' is malformed: expected
\'customers/{customer_id}/conversionCustomVariables/{ConversionCustomVariable.conversion_custom_variable_id}\'.\032\023*\021Fractional

  }
}

Which looks helpful, except that I don't know what
{ConversionCustomVariable.conversion_custom_variable_id}
could resolve to, or where to look it up. I can't find it in my management
console, and when I use the google ads query language to ask my AdsService
for details with "SELECT conversion_custom_variable.id FROM
conversion_custom_variable" it resolves without errors but comes up empty.

I wonder how I can fix my initial ClickConversion client communication, or am
I doing something fundamentally wrong? I'm happy to supply more details,
but didn't want to start off by drowning you in code and logs.

Fetching lead form data under campaign

2022-02-24 Thread Libsys Limited
Hi,
I have created a lead form extension under an ad in a campaign.
How do I fetch the list of ads in a campaign?
How do I fetch the leads registered under this ad

Re: CampaignAsset resource interaction_on_this_asset parameter

2022-02-24 Thread Arshdeep Singh Bhargav
Hi Aryeh,

Thanks for the detailed explanation and for the example.
This makes it clearer about what to expect from this resource. However, I
have one more question which arose from the said response.
And that is,
When we say the campaign 'C' with an asset served/clicked 'n' no of times.
Does that include the count for interactions or impressions from an
*AdGroup* getting served which is linked to the same asset and part of this
original campaign 'A'? In other words, I want to understand how much does
the *AdGroupAsset* data coincide with *CampaignAsset* data?

Regards,
Arshdeep
