Why Googles don't provide API for getting Metrics Install while we can see

Discrepancies in Historical monthly search volumes between API and web keyword planner

2023-05-10 Thread 'William Turrell' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
If I add terms to a Keyword Plan and retrieve historical data, it's common
for a few months in the web UI (via a CSV download) to have different
search volumes to the same data retrieved via the API.

Is this a known issue? Something I'm missing? (The geo_target should be the
same for both, not sure what else could be different).

Thanks,

Hi Florencia,

Thank you for your response.

With regard to your concern for what could happen or what errors you get when
an account does not meet the following requirements, in API perspective,
accounts that have been migrated will reject mutate calls for feed-based
entities. Furthermore, these are the only supported assets
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/extensions/assets/asset-extensions)
 in the API. Kindly note that image assets are not yet supported and cannot be
created via API. In addition to that, there is no option to check if the
account/campaign meets the requirements for image assets.

2023-05-10 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Oksana,

Thank you for coming back to us. I hope you are doing well today.

With regards to your concern, UNKNOWN field type is working as expected based
on the document ServedAssetFieldType
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/v13/ServedAssetFieldTypeEnum.ServedAssetFieldType),
 it means “The received value is not known in this version. This is a
response-only value.”.

However, for us to further investigate your concern, could you provide us with
an uncropped screenshot from Google Ads UI of the expected result rather than
“Unknown”?

If ever, this will also help us to raise your concern with the rest of the team.

Have a great day.

Hi Qihuai,

With regard to your concern, for us to further check this can you confirm if
you're seeing data in the UI but unable to get results in the API? If this is
the case, can you provide us with complete request and response logs with
request ID so we can further investigate? If you haven't yet, logging can be

how to avoid empty result when dimension is not set on data

2023-05-10 Thread Pablo Fernandez
Hi.
with the following query I'm able to collect costs with country and city as
columns.

SELECT
segments.date,
geographic_view.country_criterion_id,
segments.geo_target_region,
metrics.clicks,
metrics.impressions,
metrics.cost_micros,
customer.id,
customer.resource_name,
geographic_view.resource_name,
customer.currency_code,
customer.descriptive_name,
segments.geo_target_city
FROM geographic_view
wHERE segments.date BETWEEN '2023-05-08' AND '2023-05-10'

if I add the dimension segments.geo_target_county, the result goes empty as
any of the countries in my data has county. The same with the
dimension segments.geo_target_district.
I do know countries in my data that has district but no city, and others
having cities but no district. I need to retrieve them all, and I do not
know what country has one or another (I only know specific ones having this
caracteristic).
If I put every column that I need, I get an empty result.

How can I achieve that? with SQL I could use
COALESCE(segments.geo_target_district, ' ' ) but this is not allowed in
GAQL.

Is the only way to do that to iterate over every dimension to get them all
separately?

The dimensions I need to retrieve are
segments.geo_target_city, segments.geo_target_county,
segments.geo_target_district, segments.geo_target_province,
segments.geo_target_metro, segments.geo_target_state,
segments.geo_target_most_specific_location

Thanks

For the benefit of others who may come across this conversation - the
support rep has confirmed the metrics we see broken down on the "Asset
Groups" page is not currently available via the API, and a feature request
has been submitted internally to make them available.

Re: know if an account has image extensions enabled

2023-05-10 Thread Florencia Pereira
OK, thanks for the information.
Sorry to insist, but I still need to know what is the result in case the
account does not meet the requirements to have image assets because I need
to distinguish the case. What happens or what errors do we get when an
account does not meet the following requirements from the page I sent
before:

To use image asset, make sure you meet the following requirements:

   - Account has been open for more than 90 days.
   - Account has a good history of policy compliance.
   - Account has active campaigns.
   - Account has active text ads and has been accruing spend on Search
   campaigns for at least the last 28 days.
   - Account is in an eligible vertical or sub-vertical. Sensitive
   verticals or sub-verticals (for example, sexual content and gambling)
   aren't eligible for image assets.Note: Headlines or descriptions pinned to
   Headline position 1, Headline position 2, or Description position 1 will
   always show. Description position 2 may be truncated if an image asset is
   shown. If you have legally required text that should appear in every ad,
   then you must pin it to either Headline position 1, Headline position 2, or
   Description position 1.

RE: create audiences based on a url

2023-05-10 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

I'm from the Google Ads API team.

With regard to your concern, I suggest to check out this guide
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/remarketing/overview?hl=en)
to get an overview of Audience management in Google Ads API. Here's another
guide
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/remarketing/audience-types/visited-specific-pages)
 which discusses how to target people who have visited specific pages or
sections of your website using a flexible_rule_user_list
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/v13/RuleBasedUserListInfo)
 targeted to more specific URLs, not just your website's domain. See Rule-based
remarketing
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/remarketing/rule-based-lists)
 for an example and more details.

Let us know if you have any additional concerns.

Regards,

Google Ads API Team

Cannot see the result from request

2023-05-10 Thread Qihuai Duan
Hello,

I had executed my first request in Python for test, using service account,
with the code below :

AUTH_PATH="lib/google-ads.yaml"
client = GoogleAdsClient.load_from_storage(AUTH_PATH)
ga_service=client.get_service("GoogleAdsService",version="v13")

query = """
SELECT
campaign.id,
ad_group.id,
ad_group.name
FROM ad_group
"""

search_request = client.get_type("SearchGoogleAdsRequest")
search_request.customer_id = customer_id
search_request.query = query
# search_request.page_size = _DEFAULT_PAGE_SIZE

results = ga_service.search(request=search_request)

for row in results:
print(
f"Ad group with ID {row.ad_group.id} and name "
f'"{row.ad_group.name}" was found in campaign with '
f"ID {row.campaign.id}."
)

The request worked but it did not show the results. While I check the
results, it was masked

SearchPager

How could I solve this problem pls ?

Thx
