Re: Java Client Library 'Old' Deprecated - details?

2013-03-25 Thread Kevin Winter (AdWords API Team)
To clarify, we WILL add support for any API versions released in 2013 -
i.e. v201306 and v201309 would be eligible for support in the old library
(if such versions were released) - see the blog post:
http://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.com/2013/03/deprecation-of-old-java-library-for.html

 Hi Chris,

Yes, that's what the message means. We won't add support for new API
versions (i.e. versions that are released after v201302) or major features
in the Old Java library going forward. Developers are encouraged to start
using the new Java client library instead. In case you face any issues with
migration to the new client library, feel free to ask on the forum and we
 will help you out.

 Hi Guys,

On the home page for the 'Old' Java client library, it says As of
v201302, this library has been deprecated. Use new library with more
features. and Support for new API releases will be added until the end
 of 2013.

I just wanted to verify exactly what this means. Is it that up to and
including v201302 the 'Old' and the 'New' libraries offer almost the same
functionality, that the 'Old' library will still be usable up to the end of
the year, but we should not expect any new functionality to be introduced
from now on? Or is it something different?

Any additional details are much appreicated.

 Cheers,

 Chris
