In 4th grade I shot my best friend in the butt with a BB gun. He beat the
crap out of me once he quit crying. Never again!

Re: [AFMUG] OT Covid Neighbor

2020-04-04 Thread Bill Prince

I saw this last night.
It's a trace of the lineage of nCOV in Northern California. It has NOT been
peer reviewed yet, so it is hot off the presses.

Warning: It is
  relatively dense and technical.

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.27.20044925v1.full.pdf

A couple of interesting
  tidbits:

The "WA1" strain, which was first identified in Bedford
  Washington on January 19.
The first community transmitted case (UC1) was in late
February and was the guy who died near Sacramento. He had
(apparently) transferred it to some of the crew and passengers
on the Grand Princess on a trip to Mexico. That ship sailed on
February 11, and returned on February 21. He did not go into
the hospital until February 27 (5 weeks later).

They have identified at least 8 different strains of
  COVID-19 just in Northern California.

Re: [AFMUG] OT Covid Neighbor

2020-04-03 Thread Bill Prince
Some .177 caliber pellet rifles can do in the neighborhood of 1400 fps.
There's got to be a sonic pop with that. The small pellets lose velocity
pretty rapidly though. Problem is that they don't have enough punch to
do away with varmints. At the time we got ours, it was about the highest
velocity you could get for one in .22 caliber.

I just found out this morning that my literal backyard neighbor
has tested positive for Covid-19.
He and his wife tested positive, his parents who live the
basement also tested positive, his mom of which is in the hospital.

So….. We are a bit freaked out.
Fortunately we haven’t had physical contact with them in weeks.
However I’ve noticed their kids were in the field, our shared
backyard, playing with other neighbor kids within the past two
weeks.
We don’t let our boys anywhere near anyone else for about two
weeks now anyways, so I’m praying we don’t have it (yet).
On another note, I think our main field tech might have
contracted it.
He’s not feeling so well, we told him to go home for a couple of
weeks.

That's the hard part about mine, it's 1300fps and noisy as a 22. So I
can't use it in the neighborhood. Even though I would love to put out
the neighbor's super bright backyard light he leaves on overnight...

tested positive for Covid-19.
He and his wife tested positive, his parents who live the basement also
tested positive, his mom of which is in the hospital.

So….. We are a bit freaked out.

Fortunately we haven’t had physical contact with them in weeks.

However I’ve noticed their kids were in the field, our shared backyard,
playing with other neighbor kids within the past two weeks.

We don’t let our boys anywhere near anyone else for about two weeks now
anyways, so I’m praying we don’t have it (yet).

On another note, I think our main field tech might have contracted it.
He’s not feeling so well, we told him to go home for a couple of weeks.

Re: [AFMUG] OT Covid Neighbor

2020-04-03 Thread Steve Jones
Get off this list before you infect us all.

When the epidemiologists do their tracing on this for the history books,
they're going to mark americans as the dumbest people on the planet. We
were positioned for a slow burn, where healthy people catch it, get over it
and build community immunity, with isolated outbreaks. Our geography was
perfect.
But then we listened to our TVs. The people on the TV kept trying to make
us scared. They kept failing until they got the break they were looking
for. A nursing home in washington state got infected. Nursing home did what
they do, a virus got in, it spread, and a lot of people died. That's very
normal in long term care.
The TV people's golden opportunity was an image of an empty shelf in a
store in that town.
Once they put that image out and they pounded that its spreading, and
deaths have "doubled" (all the way to 21) they had us. And we all went
running to the stores. Not just one store, every store, for 50 to 100
miles, searching for toilet paper and hand sanitizer (that does nothing
against covid19)
And then it was everywhere.
Thank you TV people
Thank you sheeple.

Now my folks who live across the street, my dad in particular, who lives
for holding my babies, cant come over. All because my 25 yr old nephew who
lives with them cant be an adult. No job, runs around all the time and has
his little girlfriend come and go from her home in chicago.

My nephew should be the face of this outbreak

However I've noticed their kids were in the field, our shared backyard, playing
with other neighbor kids within the past two weeks.

We don't let our boys anywhere near anyone else for about two weeks now
anyways, so I'm praying we don't have it (yet).

On another note, I think our main field tech might have contracted it.
He's not feeling so well, we told him to go home for a couple of weeks.
