Re: [AFMUG] UBNT u-Installer with Cambium gear

2019-04-30 Thread Mathew Howard
Here is is:
ssh 169.254.169.169
username: ubnt
password: ubnt
Run the following commands:
sed -i
's/system.airosx.prov.status=enabled/system.airosx.prov.status=disabled/g'
/tmp/system.cfg
save
reboot

That will make it essentially behave like an Airgateway, and you can login
to it through the web interface and configure it to be a normal bridged AP.

Alternatively, you can go to the hidden login URL and upload the attached
config file (if the list doesn't strip it off), which will do the same
thing, except that I have it set to a static IP of 192.168.1.1
https://169.254.169.169/login.cgi

And if I recall you can push a config in cnMaestro to enable it across all
devices as well. You'll want to edit the JSON appropriately but I think it's:

UserParameters->networkconfig->"defaultIPAccessEnable": 0 for off, 1 for on.

(Pretty sure that's it - recommend you test for yourself unless others can
confirm. Thats just my notes from however long ago.)

The newer software versions have an option under config>IP called "Default

lease an IP, and falls back to an autoconfiguration address though, so you
might have to get your installer to set a static address on the 169.254.1.0/16

is able to hit your DHCP server up for a lease.

We recently started onboarding our 450i platform into CnMaestro. It’s a great

before logged into the AP found the customer click and your there. The nice
part about this was when a tech went out they could access locally with
169.254.1.1. That no longer works. I am wondering if I am missing something in
the programming that will allow the tech that type of local access still?

I sat through the 3 days 450 training years ago but don’t remember a thing

I realize we're only talking about 500', but is that going to be enough
signal to deal with rain fade with those? maybe do an LHG on one end?

Personally, I think I would use IgniteNet MetroLinq One 60-19's for a link
like that.

Re: [AFMUG] 500 foot shot

2019-04-30 Thread Mathew Howard
Well, the original 1Gbps radios seem to be a bit flakey, but the new "One"
version is supposed to fix that... but I don't have any personal experience
with those, so I can't say how they compare to the 2.5G, but I suspect the
hardware is closer to the 2.5G model than the original 1G model.

But the only real reason not to just go with the 2.5G is the cost
difference.

Subject: [AFMUG] 500 foot shot

We need to put up a 100Meg link for our county. Possible they may eventually
need 500Meg. Is the IgniteNet 60Ghz solid and ready for prime time? I would
use AF24 but this link is about 4 degrees off an existing AF24 link!!! Could
use Siklu but don't see using it anywhere else so would need to hold a spare.
However if IgniteNet worked well I could see other uses. Other thoughts?

Thanks

Adam
