[AFMUG] Core Alignment Splicer

2016-10-11 Thread LD Barthlome
We are in need of another core alignment splicer, we currently have all
Fujikura splicers and have been happy with them. It is hard not to look at the
Inno View 5 and 7 due to the price. Has anyone had any experience with the
Inno brand.

Thanks

Anyone have one of these they would be able to share? I thought Chuck Hogg
posted one a while back, but I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

You're not really having to change out equipment for one. It's an investment.
It's also completely possible for a single strand of glass in the ground to
carry more than 6Tbps of bandwidth.

That said, we will be selling IPTV and Phone as well. Our average user plan
will probably be around $124-$145/mo. Some will be higher, some lower.

We are selling local service, reliability (design, hot spares, cold spares),
and no hidden costs or fees. What you pay for is what you get (minimum of
125Mbps on the up to 1Gbps plan, only exception). If they want cheap shit that
sometimes works and has problems at peak, they can pick a cable operator.

2016-01-20 Thread LD Barthlome
We have also invested in our own fiber crew….. Drill, Vac, etc.….we have the
cost down to around $4.50 per foot for our main trunk line. That does not
include drops but they are usually fairly straight forward. He have installed
around 45 miles in the past 3 ½ years…this is a combination of some aerial (
which I don’t like in our area), using some existing city conduit, mostly
installing our own.

We are self financing and building as much as we can afford. We looked into
subcontracting the work and found it to be cost prohibitive. We are doing all
the work in house including directional drilling.

If you are comfortable working on older equipment and mechanically inclined so
you can fix stuff, you can probably get set up with a decent drill rig, big
plow, drop plow, couple trucks and trailers for around $100k.

What is a good estimate to bore say 100 or 500 houses passed in a suburban
neighborhood that's all asphalt and concrete sidewalks with ~5000sqft lots for
pon? I know it could vary vastly but just a ball park ? $1000 per house passed ?
