you ever met dogs? they can get to anything under 4 foot, horizontal runs, AC condenser pipe tie ons, tower to house, under deck runs, you name it, if its not in pipe they can get to it On Tue, Mar 20, 2018 at 6:33 PM, Josh Reynoldswrote: > Where are dogs getting to the cable? > > On Fri, Mar 16, 2018 at 5:57 PM, Steve Jones > wrote: > > Being back in the grind now, Im finding installers just keep replacing > cable > > on animal chews. Is charging for it off the table? In my experience people are a lot more willing to protect it if they get charged every time the dog chews on it. Re: [AFMUG] handy dog proofing for service truck
Run a stick of 3/4" PVC conduit through a table saw to make a slot in one side. Depending on your kerf, make a second pass to widen the slot so a cable fits easily into your slot. Cut off short sections to use for weed whacker and/or chew prevention. Slip the cable into the slot, secure it with standard conduit straps. [AFMUG] handy dog proofing for service truck
Being back in the grind now, Im finding installers just keep replacing cable on animal chews. Yesterday I had to take everything off a yagi and tapcon the pipe to a brick wall to protect cable from getting rechewed. when I was installer kept random scrap stuff and DS mounts to run cable through nice and ghetto when customers wouldnt screen off exposed areas. I have some liquidtight scrap that might be worth throwing in the van. this is all residential, we dont charge for service calls or incidentals, so i need something on the cheap to stock in the van that doesnt take up alot of real estate on the shelves. I had even considered rigid 1/2 conduit and a bender, but I doubt most techs weve had would be able to operate that
